Why did they change the power of the youngest from Premonition to mind reading? 😒 Probably because they think premonitions are useless and mind reading is ~cool~. Also, probably cheaper? Do not like. Do not want. |

I'm upset that premonitions are the only power not being brought back, I always considered it the most important in the original. That it was the one power I thought was a shoe-in to return, and they would have ditched freezing time, for example, this time.
Telekinesis Is the most commonly used power in any supernatural or fantasy drama. You always see this one used or some form of being able to move things with your mind.

Why did they change the power of the youngest from Premonition to mind reading? 😒 As I said on a previous page: I also really don't like that the one original power that's missing is premonitions, the power I always thought the most important in the original because it showed them which innocent they were supposed to save so it tends to tell me that it will be more like S4-8 than S1-3, which I don't like, and probably more about demon-hunters who happen to be related rather than three sisters who happen to be related, which I definitely don't like. |

Funny. I just read about the mind reading power and was coming here to vent😊. Doesn’t make sense. If they wanted to change premonitions then they should have gone with empathy. Hope thats what they mean and not just being able to hear people’s thoughts all the time. That would get annoying fast.
And if it is mind reading I hope it’s only by touch or direct contact

I haven't even listened to the auditionings and yet somehow the facial features, the manner in which they compose themselves just looks plastic and unlikable to me. It could have something to do with the nature of this attempted reboot being more of a glorified sitcom or soap opera than a meaningful theatrical work with care and attention to detail being put into its sinews. Plus, I guess it doesn't help that I've been reading and watching too much of other shows and entertainment pieces that seem to apply some measure of likable genuity to their atmosphere, plot, and characters.

Well, these are auditions of actors who probably won't get the parts, except maybe the one who needs a password now, which I hope since she's the only one I like. We were looking more at the lines to get a feeling what the characters might be like with most of us not liking the youngest. The one I liked was trying for Mel.

I'm hoping the reason dears they haven't cast the sisters yet, is they are spending *more* time to find the best chemistry possible for the sisters between themselves. Not wanting to rush. I can only hope, and that casting this particular actor for the supporting cast was much easier. But yes you would think they want the sister's first cast, and all the supporting cast should work around them to get chemistry for love interests. Not the other way round. So CW is bringing back Sunday. Please don't tell me they intend Charmed's reboot to begin on Sunday, October 7th at 8:00 p.m exactly 20 years from when Charmed started. That is VERY disrespectful. I hope if they do want it on Sundays, start it the week after on the 14th. To piggy back on your statement Granny Charmed, I like to think their request for all ethnicicties for the roles of the sisters have come back to bite them in their butts. Just imagine if a Latina actress knocks it out of the park for the role of Mel. Only to have a black and a blond haired blue eyed actresses have the casting directors swooning from their portrayal of the roles of the other respective sisters. Which can leave the casting directors in a tough spot because they'll have to choose the ethnicity of the other girls from the stronger actress. Which is why they should've thought out all this before. Blind casting only works great with ensemble shows where characters don't share kinship. For example, Grey's Anatomy and all the other Shondaland shows. If the creators want to be diverse and represent top races: they already have Soo, an Asian; Galvin is African American; cast "Harry" as a British Columbian (like Sean Teale who plays Eclipse from The Gifted) or a British Indian (like Dev Patel from The Lion). Obviously Brian will be white and the sisters could be of Italian descent or biracial. That way the show is different and diverse and inclusive than of the original. Maybe I'm just rambling and overthinking it but I think they're stumped with casting of the girls You might well be right dear, and that this *might* just be what happened. I just hope they get the actresses have the best possible chemistry for the reboot sisters. |

Empathy would have been a better choice if they want to ditch Premonitions. Maybe mind reading may work differently in the reboot and is more empathy like. Guess we will find out soon. |

Phoebe's empathy was nothing like real empathy, just whatever the script wanted it to be. It was just this side of mind-reading more than empathy so maybe it will be more like that - which would still be BAD! True empathy was more like what Prue had in 'Primrose Empath" which was nothing like what Phoebe had - she never felt anyone's pain. |

Sounds like they want to keep who the stars are (not counting one) a secret til later on. But if it's being filmed, it's gotten farther than any other reboot. I think this one will actually be shown - at least the pilot as a TV movie. I hope so. Then we'll have a MUCH better idea what it's about.

CW added Sunday. They're committed. We won't know officially until May Upfronts, but it looks like this is happening.
I really need to rewatch Charmed.

I'm trying to be optimistic but I can't help feel that this is going to be the first big let-down for me. Are they replacing the premonition-seeing Innocent Saver in favour of a flashier Profressor X/Jean Grey-style SuperWitch? Also, telepathy is a notoriously different power to write given that it is, by its very nature, designed to instantly detect lying and concealment - basically a major plot killer! They really need to place some strict conditions on the power or it will be an Inconsistency Galore waiting to happen. Personally, I would impose the same condition that Phoebe's premonitions had - that she had to either touch or be within close range of the subject of her reading/vision. |

I forgot which sister Mel was and realized she was the middle sister. I guess the actress cast being 33, made me think she was playing the oldest. So this actress is of Puerto Rican descent. Guess the actress playing Madison will be Latina too.

She looks pretty. I have no idea who she is or what she's been in before. Cannot gage her as an actress.
The youngest will also probably be in the Latina range? Which is fine.

I'm a little surprised. I assumed they would skew all the sisters' ages down as far as possible, making it more 'teen'. Perhaps she'll play younger than she is. I assume that as she the middle sister and so the youngest will also be Latina, the older half-sister will likely be white?
I heard they've cast another of the sisters' boyfriends as well. How have they managed that without casting the sister as well? Don't they need to test their on-screen chemistry etc. Unless the actress has been cast but not announced yet.

I'm thrilled they cast older and not all three actresses playing the sisters as young as possible. Since the sisters are suppose to be 18, mid 20s and late 20s.
I just wonder if the youngest sister cast will be in her early 20s and not 18. Otherwise would be a huge gap between the actresses playing Madison and Mel. So Macy the oldest might be played by a 30 year old too.
Shannen was 27, Alyssa 26 and Holly was 25 when cast going by memory.

What a pleasant surprise. A Latina Charmed One! Should've seen it coming, these are the women behind Jane The Virgin after all. She's an excellent actress let's hope the writing will be up to par and she doesn't suffer stiff writing like how the ladies had to work with on the Charlie's Angels reboot show. |
