*sigh* Just so it's not more like Buffy or Ghost Whisperer and less like Charmed... That's ALL Classic Charmed would need!
But since it sounds like only the youngest will actually be at college (with the oldest just working there), I don't think so.

Now you got me thinking about the music they might use, especially the opening after the credits with the music and scenery of the city. Would be nice to see how Hilltowne, Michigan is shown. But Hilltowe isn't a real town when I looked up, but that might be the college town they created. So I hope they show some Michigan scenery, I would like to see it. What we might be treated too when they show the city on the reboot (but being a college town might be more small-town feel and less three sisters in the big city like the original show): I wonder where they'll be filming this pilot. I hope LA or Atlanta or even Chicago or Michigan itself. I do wonder myself. I do know most CW shows get filmed in Vancouver, Canada these days. Mainly the DC shows, Supernatural, Izombie and Riverdale I believe. I don't think too many CW even films in LA these days. I'm not sure, but it might just be more expensive to film in LA these days. But having it film in Michigan itself would be neat. |

For curiosity yes. I’ll probably hate it once I see no connection to the original There are some shows you can't recreate. Granted, the Charmed reboot will have better graphics and probably much better fight scenes, but this is not a show who's magic can be recreated. The Charmed Sons show could have been good 10 years back, but that moment has passed too. I am very curious to see what the original actors tweet after the first episode. |

I would rather it be a whole new cast with the same name than trying to bring the old cast back for a rebook. Shows just arent made with the same substance as they used to be and it would be a huge disgrace.

I wish the writers could redeem themselves for us classic charmed fans and spin this story differently linking it to the original. Like maybe these are the 3 daughters of say phoebe and coop 20 years in the future after Forever Charmed. The 3 now live together in another city where they all go or went to the same college and maybe one of them now works. They definitely look like they could be phoebe and Coops kids.
With the help of their parents maybe, they bought a house there. One they found for sale that kind of reminded them of aunt pipers due to its style, and suddenly months or a year or so later they find out they are charmed. Something their not ready for as some are still in college and/or had just started working .
Maybe phoebe and coop and their aunts had made a decision to protect their kids from evil by just reading stories to them and not encouraging them to use their powers for their safety. Maybe even binding them with their kids knowledge, letting them know that whenever they were ready when they reached 18 they could have them unbound if they wished. The parents weren’t expecting any more charmed legacy happening. But the book passes to these 3 anyways and just materializes in their house one day and the power of 3, opens to the first page with the spell and the power is handed to them all of a sudden.
Maybe one or 2 of the sisters are happy about it and the other is not. They contemplate telling their parents and aunts but decide not to and want to handle the responsibility themselves and learn on their own and leave it up to their parents to find out about it on their own whenever. Piper and Leo probably don’t realize the book is gone because they had locked it away somewhere safe in magic school and hadn’t checked on it in a very very long time.
This way it leaves room for any of the original cast to show up whenever. We can even have maybe the other kids or Wyatt and chris show up periodically knowing what’s going on but being sworn by the 3 girls for none of them to tell any of their parents. Maybe end of a season they are way over their heads with a demon and their parents would find out as they would need their help and they would be so busted. If any of the original cast would agree to cameo on occasion.

If this one fails, maybe we'll get something like that.
But with all the problems with the original cast - not to mention all of the consistency problems with the actual series - I doubt that we'll see anything with the Halliwells on screen.
If the actors were getting along better, maybe we'd get something for the 20th.
Now I think what we'll get is the premiere of the reboot that's stealing the name but that's all that connects it to the original.
I think we'll always be happiest with the fanfiction we come up with ourselves.
That could be fun...do a bunch of polls over what fans would like to see in a reboot and then try to come up with a board virtual series...
I've changed my vote to just watching the pilot out of curiosity. The more I hear about it, the more I don't think I'll be watching it. Just not my thing and unlike Charmed, where Alyssa and Holly attracted my attention, I've never heard of any of these actors. I'll try to keep up with it via reviews from Classic Charmed fans who like the reboot, but that's more than enough attention for me to give it.

I don't think Charmed will ever return with the original cast. Didn't Rose quit acting? I thought none of them get along these days. If they were getting along and agreed, a Charmed reunion would have happened by now.
Why is the reboot named Charmed anyway? Its horrible to the fans to name it after Charmed. A majority of the time reboots rename their projects to something else like 24, Star Trek or Sabrina I think is under a different title now.

When someone wants to give Charmed a try, how will they tell apart the two different versions? Seeing as Charmed didn't even end that long ago. The first thing that will pop up will always be the most recent news and articles. So fans of the original series will be annoyed that this reboot is always stealing the spotlight. Naming it something else helps keeps the two separate. I find when I want to check up on Charmed, I keep finding the reboot always in my news feed attached to photos of the original series. I just want to check up on my favorite show, but seeing the reboot all the time makes that difficult. I beg these producers to name it something else. Because it only means fans of the original will forever be linked to this reboot, because of the name is exactly the same. Thankfully Star Trek has so many different shows and names them differently and 24 has different names to keep them separate. Why can't the reboot of Charmed do the same? I listened to this video.  |

Absolutely. Even if I wasn't optimistic, I'd be way too curious not to.
But it's got a great team behind it. The cast that I've seen before I think are really talented. The review of the pilot sounded promising. I'm looking forward to it.
Of course if the pilot sucks I won't bother following it, but everything so far sounds promising to me.

Well next week at Upfronts, we will see a trailer and some promo pics. Even though parts of what we're told about it have really not made me that excited. I'm am curious enough to watch the trailer video that leaks next week. We'll see dear.

I still have my fears, and I'm don't like what they want to do with their first demon. But we are getting our first trailer, but again that still isn't enough, because a trailer can edit anything to make it look good. Hmm...

Exactly. A lot of times the only good parts are the parts in the trailer.
The major thing I want to find out is what they'll do with the older sister/half-sister. Will they make her a part of the family, treat her like a sister right away, or will it take a while for the bond to form? Will they be able to vanquish high-level demons right away (and will the villains be demons and not warlocks - especially will the only black person be a demon...) Will there be hybrid powers? Any of those will turn me off, the way they turned me off during Classic Charmed's Season Four.

Well, it's in the same universe so it is linked to Charmed. I think they should call it Charmed: New Witches or Charmed in (insert city here). Personally, I don't think that most of the original fan base will like the new one since it will be in a college setting. Most of us are older than that. But, it might be good if only one of the witches is actually college aged. However, I think it will be heavily be influenced by today's trends and that might also make it feel much younger to us. I have no issue with different witches being in the same universe. I like that a whole lot better than it being set in 70s and having nothing to do with Grams. It would have totally been cool to get a Grams show about her growing up between the ages of 9-15ish and it be called "Pre-Charmed: A Penny Halliwell Story". However, these reboots and remakes are never for the original audience. They are for the current young generations. That's why the setting is in a college town. That's what's popular now. We, as current Charmed fans would love a Grams prequel but the new audience would probably ignore it because they wouldn't have any reason to care about her. This is why they are putting new witches and inserting them into the Charmed universe. |
