I am actually really put of the new Charmed now and I was originally the one who was more excited about it. It sounds like a cry for feminism. I know you have been one about being open minded dear and was willing to give it a go. It really is and unfortunately I don't think it will hold up well in a decade when were past all the trends and the recent political stuff is *now* outdated. They are trying way too hard to be relevant. One of the reasons our 'Elemental Charmed' reboot project has been a great distraction from The CW's reboot. One of the reasons I just bumped up the thread that started it all. If others are put off by it, I'd love to see what else people come up with that's margins better than what The CW has done.

They are trying way too hard. It will backfire when #Metoo becomes not relevant anyone.
Maybe they will tone that down. We'll see. But I don't think so anytime soon.

It's not gonna be toned down anytime soon while Trump is in office honestly. The reboot will be much like Supergirl(2016) I imagine, foresaking good storytelling to shove a political message in the audience's face.

Interesting posters, but yeah they are blatantly ripping-off those art concepts... not that Classic Charmed didn't do the same with their storylines...

But I don't remember Classic Charmed ever doing anything this blatant with their posters. To me it looks like The CW is panicking, afraid that their rip-off won't be a hit.
And it's truly a shame. If they'd not called it Charmed and left out all of the Classic Charmed Easter eggs (like not calling someone a whitelighter when he has nothing to do with white light) and left out all the #MeToo crap and found three actresses who had some chemistry rather than just the same skim color, it truly could've been a hit.

No, I said Classic Charmed did the same thing with their storylines haha. They would take plots or story elements from movies and rehash them in their episodes. For example, "The Truth Is Out There… and It Hurts" warlock assassin from the future plot was ripping off The Terminator. This type of "homage" was done throughout the series' run.

So many shows do that though. The homages. An idea inspired from somewhere else. When has their ever been an original idea that wasn't inspired from something. It happens.
Charmed was inspired from Practical Magic which was a movie about two sisters who were witches.
They are using demons already having similar names. e.g The Source and Alistair (a new villain has the name from a demon om the show before).
They could be inspired by whitelighters but call them something else. Since they don't orb.

Oh, absolutely no doubt about that. But a lot of shows do that. Just so many storylines... Hence why there are so many tropes, but why they're used - they work! They don't bother me any. I'll bet my bottom dollar the rip-off will do the same thing, unless they do the same #MeToo storyline every week which would be much more boring. I've been seeing shows do that since the 60s. I saw one where it was the EXACT script, just said by different characters - and the first set was two men and a woman (Mod Squad) and the other was three men (The Rookies) and one guy still had to say all of the woman's lines! Unless it's that sort of ripping off, it doesn't bug me at all, especially when they rip off like when Classic Charmed *did* steal from Harry Potter, but their Magic School was totally different than Hogswart. But these posters...COME ON - GIVE ME A FREAKIN' BREAK! That sort of stealing should be banned in 49 states!

Whether its the posters from the reboot or storylines from the old show, everyone takes ideas from previous works. We can't judge one harshly without the other... not that fans don't already judge Classic Charmed harshly. *SPOILERS/FAN THEORY* Also... did anyone stop to wonder that maybe Harry is pretending to be a Whitelighter, which is why he doesn't orb? This could be why the new sisters get a message on their spirit board not to trust him.

The Charmed Reboot Will Feature a Couple Inspired by an Original Favorite
Well adding a Cole character in S1 already this early. They really don't have faith this will do well. Will they have any plots for S2. LOL
I hope this sister isn't ruined like Pheebs was. Gotta have a Metoo message. I'd imagine he'd be vanquished sooner. A plot like Cole might not work in these times with the Metoo era. Especially S5's Cole.

ermmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
"who had hands down the most romantic, turbulent, chemistry-brimming romance in all nine seasons" a) The show only went on for 8 seasons. b) Phoebe/Cole was only around S3,4,5 c) NOPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. "most romantic" and even "chemistry-brimming" doesn't work -for me-.
sooooooooooooooooooooooooo.............. HARD PASS. Thanks.

They are really rushing through storylines.
Can we get this thread renamed? Like General News/Information/Spoilers.

Why are they rushing through plots so quickly, the series hasn't even started or completed a season yet. What happened to the good old days of having storylines play out naturally, and not burning through all your good stories so quickly.
I've barely kept up with any reboot news, and the trailers didn't make me want to watch.
HARD PASS!
I won't be watching this show - even though I didn't plan to watch it, but this seals it for me. Knowing we have Whitelighters and knowing it has a Phoebe/Cole plotline again and introduced in S1, you kidding me THIS early! I'm not going to waste my time now.
These new sisters are not going to be developed if they all have love interests in S1.
Where are the original storylines? I see nothing in this reboot? They are taking too many plots from Classic Charmed already. Wanna bet, they'll have their very own Rex, Barbas or Seer character introduced. They already have a Cole and The Source already.
Sorry for ranting guys.

Sorry for ranting guys. That's okay, Sasha, I think a lot of us feel that way. I'm proud of our Elemental Charmed - we've yet to redo any of these boring storylines. But, of course, that's The CW - it has to always be about boy/girl; girl/girl or boy/boy relationships - it's not even trying to be a show about three sisters who happen to be witches. But anyone want to make a bet that they'll try to do the Phoebe/Cole story better by making the Ripoff Cole the Stalker Cole he should've been in Classic Charmed S5, with him being the evil one he should've been after being a mercenary demon for 100 years? After all, that appears to be their #MeToo mandate... So anyone who found themselves loving Cole just because his mortal father once screwed a demon and hating Phoebe after S5 probably won't like this. And that's the funny part about it. Having been stalked myself, I hate Stalker Cole as much as I hate PhoeME - so who knows? I *might* have liked this - it all depends upon how they handle it. But I'll find that out by reading others reviews. I don't plan on wasting a second on it when we're having so much fun with Elemental Charmed. Now if the reviews show it to actually be three sisters who happen to be witches (and they don't accept the sister who didn't grow up with them right away and they don't introduce a bunch of halves and none of them fall in love with their guide (NO WAY I'll call him a whitelighter - nothing white light about him!)...) I might binge-watch it once it's cancelled.

Too bad, the show didn't end up on Cable or Netflix. I might do the same, but so far I have no interest. I might end up checking it out when it's canceled or ended. I'm sure I'll follow along online here just reading.

Came across this today.
‘Charmed’: Nick Hargrove Set As Series Regular On the CW Reboot
And it looks like they most likely have made their Cole a regular already. I'm not planning to watch and just read. But is the chemistry for the three sisters that bad, they need more supporting cast members in S1 and more love interests.
How come they refuse to add any non-love interest regulars to the main cast instead apart from their whitelighter. I'm already bored, that they feel like all the sisters need to be attached to a love interest in S1. *Sigh*
I know this is The CW, and they love their love interests. But they really do not think this show is going to succeed. Why else, give their youngest sister who is 18 years old a love interest who is now also a regular. Not even Phoebe, who was much older than this one, got one in S1 or S2.
But maybe they promoted him because he is important for their Cole arc in S1, and do not want to lose him to other roles, and wants this show to be number 1. That I can see.
