MACY | A witty, intense science nerd, Macy — who is in her late 20s — is a Ph.D. in quantum physics who’s moving with her boyfriend Galvin to Hilltowne, Michigan, to work in the university lab. Macy has reason to believe that she is the sister of Mel and Madison. Her power is telekinesis.

MEL PRUITT | A strong-willed feminist, she feels deeply and is a bit controlling. Mel — who is in her mid 20s and a lesbian — is the sister of Madison. In the wake of a tragic accident, the grieving Mel becomes angry, defiantly unkempt, even violent, pushing away those who might help her, including her girlfriend, Detective Soo Jin. Mel’s power is time-freezing.

MADISON PRUITT | Mel’s younger sister (she’s 18-ish), an athletic (pilates, cheerleading) college student pledging a sorority, Madison is the opposite of her feminist sister with a desire to fit in. Madison is horrified to learn she is a witch. Her power is hearing people’s thoughts.

So Soo Jin got a name change to Nico. Well, that does happen so often from early outlines, auditions to pilot.

Again, never heard of these two before, so went to IMDB to check on them.

Ellen Tamaki is a very new actress it appears. So this role is her big break.

Charlie Gillespie is your typical teen heartthrob, appearing in some teen shows before like Degrassi.

The Charmed reboot currently in the works at The CW has been a polarizing project for fans of the original show, but now that the pilot has officially cast its new Charmed Ones, fans finally have a tangible idea of what the new series could be.

Madeleine Mantock, Melonie Diaz and Sarah Jeffery have been cast as the new versions of the Halliwell sisters from the original — though it's unclear if they'll actually be commandeering the Halliwell family name.

Mantock has been cast as Macy, the eldest sister, who is described as a "practical, driven, and brilliant geneticist." She's also the one whose world is most rocked by the revelation that she and her sisters are witches. It's undeniable that Macy is the Prue (Shannen Doherty) of the group, and she'll no doubt have her job cut out for her as she tries to corral her younger sisters. Mantock played Veil on Into the Badlands and Astrid on The Tomorrow People.

Diaz will play Mel, the middle sister who also happens to be an outspoken activist and lesbian. To say this is a departure from Charmed's original middle sister, Piper (Holly Marie Combs), is a pretty big understatement. If anything, this character sounds more like Rose McGowen's Paige, who entered the show when Doherty exited. Diaz previously appeared in Elementary and Room 104.

The youngest sister, Madison, will be played by Sarah Jeffery and is described as a "bubbly college freshman" who's not at all happy to have witch matters screwing up her dream of being a sorority girl. Madison appears to have the same fun-loving personality Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) was best known for in Charmed's early years. She does, however, appear to be younger than anticipated, being a freshman in college and thus still a teenager. Jeffery's previous roles include Cristina Santos on Shades of Blue and Brianna on The X-Files.

Now that we've officially got our new Charmed Ones, it's time to move on to supporting characters. Charmed had a large, rotating cast of side characters through its eight seasons, but so far the reboot only has a couple of them cast.

Charlie Gillespie has been tapped to play Brian, Madison's high school boyfriend who is still kind of carrying a torch for her, says Deadline.

Ellen Tamaki will portray Nico, a detective whose romantic relationship with one of the sisters (we're going to connect the obvious dots and say it's Mel) complicates her investigation.

What's interesting about these two roles is that they seem to both be taking elements from the original character of Andy Trudeau (Ted King). Andy was an Inspector whose high school romance with Prue made him turn a blind eye to the trouble she and her sisters always got themselves tangled up in. Unfortunately, Andy died in the Season 1 finale, so let's hope Brian and Nico fare better in the reboot.

That article has some "facts" that do not align.

I thought Macy didn't grow up with them. So, raising wise, Mel is not a middle child.

Sometimes it feels like even the media has no idea what's going on with the show.

No one knows the story or characters. This is hilarious. In the way that it's not off to a great start.

The nod is the last name Pruitt. We don't know Macy's last name. Though that is interesting. Like, why is that not revealed. Paige was Matthews. And I really do want to know if she's half or whole. Either way, why was she not raised with her mother and sisters? What's the age gap between Macy and Mel? Were their parents too young?

Agreed. I'm please that they have gone with a fully diverse cast rather than "colouring the background" with token ethnic background characters.

Looks like Maddison is now called Margarita and the last name has been changed to Vera, although that's unclear, it could just be Mel Vera Pruitt

So now we have the last name change to Vera. But that doesn't prove much? the last name may not actually be "vera" for the sisters. it's apart of Mel first name "Mel Vera". Since Macy and Margarita don't have Vera next to it, and nobody on this wall has a last name?

The media has gotten things mixed up, and I keep getting confused on if Macy is a full sister or half.

I don't know if she is a full or a half, but she only learned recently that she has sisters according to season zero.

And yeah the Vera thing is confusing.

I don't know if she is a full or a half, but she only learned recently that she has sisters according to season zero.

We'll just have to wait for more information later. Too bad nobody asked Season Zero for more clarification on her status as a sister?

I'm really not too keen on the "Vera" last name. I mean if you want to go Latina, surely there's other Surnames than this one. How about Lopez? Also Margarita? What post millennial has Margarita for a name? Why not Marisol? If it's Margarita maybe she goes by Margo or Maggie. I hope it's just the name changes and nothing too much to the script. Hopefully they added better things to it and nothing lackluster. From what Lulla from Season Zero said the pilot script was already pretty decent. Also, with the sisters being Latina that brings in the mythology of La Brujeria! Nice.

I think they could bring in the mythology of La Brujeria. They just better do their research and do a good job of it. Because we all know Charmed failed sometimes attempting mythologies on Charmed and sometimes did it cliche or offensive to some cultures. 

But if the people on Jane the Virgin got the Latina stuff right on that show, then I have faith they will do the same on the reboot.

Yeah I watch Jane and the writers seem to be very respectful when it comes to Latina culture so I'm definitely not worried about mythology or Latina stuff. The name Margarita is the only thing irking me right now.

The last name was supposed to be the "nod" to the original. They might be throwing that away.

The only thing I'd want changing is the show name. *sigh*
