Be interesting to see, since the full pilot screens at it. So I'm curious to find out way more details. If the pilot happens to leak online in full, Like Supergirl did, I might be tempted to watch it. Might save me waiting for when it airs to give an opinion on if it's worth to continue or not.
But this might also give them an idea of what people think of it. That some changes could happen right?

Definitely could help with input on the direction of the show.
Just putting it out there. If you find any leaked pilot, DO NOT POST IT. It may be discussed, but it would be best not to post it publicly. Especially when it geta to legality issues.
And I would encourage the use of SPOILER tags to be used for dicussions of that. But anything from CC can be discussed in this thread without tags, as long as it comes from CC.

Yeah if someone finds the leaked pilot. Best share privately among members in PMs. Thanks for the heads up with rules on discussion. I'm interested to see how the people attending the comic con respond to the pilot. I'm sure Classic Charmed fans will be attending out of curiosity and those are fans I'm curious to see review the pilot in addition to ones never seeing the show before.

So if it's something that's discussed during Comic-Con we can post it, but stuff that's actually shown during the pilot can't be except if you do it in spoiler tags and in *this* thread. Right?

Yeah, anything that comes from the panel at Comic-Con.
Posting reviews from people who have seen it are fine. If the pilot is leaked, that should be in spoiler tags. But any "official" promos, trailers are good. But should be kept here.
Keeping things in designated threads before the premiere wpukd be better so people don't see things they don't want.
YouTube videos of the panel is fine to discuss here. I think it's very much frowned upon to film a showing of the pilot (if they do that).

What's the policy once episodes air. Since most people may not see new episodes for a few days or so. It won't be a biggie since discussion is in the reboot board. I'd say just avoid looking at the last posts section amd and stumbling on them.

Interesting they only have the three leads and the whitelighter at the panel and nobody else from the cast. But then the trailer only really showed them four. And it's better this way.
Here's hoping unlike Classic Charmed, the supporting cast don't overshadow the three leads.
I do hope we got some insight into how the reboot handles the whitelighter backstory. Since Harry is British. He might have lived in England and died here before becoming a whitelighter. Be interesting if whitelighters are former witches always. If Witches need whitelighters it would make sense that a whitelighter was previously a witch in their former life.
But then I didn't mind Classic Charmed's original plan for whitelighters in S1 and liked how potential whitelighters are formed.
Just the reboot might have other ideas for them.

Just a quick update before I go to work... I'm on Twitter right now and they apparently screened the pilot episode at CC. People who are there are saying they loved the episode, they're saying it's "sweeter and funnier", "goofy and heartfelt", the producers of the show said that a Charmed reboot was needed as to give the message of bringing back kick ass women to television, the three leads feels grateful to be part of the originals legacy(Meh... in my opinion, if they weren't on the original show, they'll never be part of the legacy). There's a ton more pouring out from Twitter, but I have to go to work soon.

Yeah there's a lot of positive reactions from old and new fans. I think I only saw like 2 negatives so far. The producer said in regards of romances the biggest love triangle of this season will be the relationships between the sisters. I found that great and exciting. I'm happy about it. Also, the demons will reflect on what's going on with the sisters and the world.

Looks like they got PR talking points down lol. This is how they should've come at the reboot from the beginning instead of trying to act like they are better.
Anyway

So they are going to do stories based around the Metoo movement. No surprises. Hopefully it isn't too much in your face.
I wonder if demons take possession of people is going to be a common thing on the reboot. Especially if they are on college campus so the sisters are unaware who is a demon.

A mix of soap, magic and real horror. Sounds like Classic Charmed S1 to me maybe. Or will it be more closer to Buffy the Vampire Slayer with the horror card mixed in?
An interview also mentioned the word Apocalypse. Might just be a term. Can't possibly go deeper into the sisters battling the world against one. That sounds more like a Buffy or Supernatural thing to me.
Maybe it starts out like Classic Charmed S1 but shifts lighter as it progresses too.

The more I hear about the reboot, the more it sounds like it wants to use Charmed to be topical. That's probably going to be fantastic for 20's-30's, but at aged 65, I'm just not interested in such stuff, especially having it shoved in my face. There was nothing like that in Classic Charmed, part of the reason why it *is* Classic - it will fit into any generation by being nostalgic. Something this topical will fit the next five years and not much beyond.
As I said, young women will probably love it and they're welcomed to enjoy it, but, no, just not for me. I'll still watch the premiere, just for curiosity sake, but it's really going to have to wow me the way none of the supernatural WB/CW shows haven't - there has yet to be a CW show that has kept my interest past the first few episodes - in order to keep me interested. Sisterhood - the way it was in Classic Charmed - is going to have to be more important than being topical, and I just don't think it will be.

God. That description and with the demons -Fit bit? That's not funny or clever- sounds absolutely terrible. I'm with you, Es.
They already sound like they're trying too hard. I hope it is more organic, but it -sounds- too "in your face."
Blah.

Currently on vacation. I attended Comic Con. So I had to make a stop to the Charmed Cafe to report on my experience.
Beware Spoilers about pilot at Comic Con

The pilot begins with showing us Mel and Maggie. We learn Mel is an outspoken feminist and graduate student, while Maggie is a freshman who’s hanging with sorority girls at which is basically an Iraq War-themed rush party.
We learn their mother, is a women’s studies professor at the local university, is sad because the school may reinstate a professor who had been suspended after being accused of sexual assault from a now-comatose student.
After some typical exposition where their mother basically says her goodbyes and we know she's dying right after. She is attacked by a bunch of crows and rolling fog. Which felt so typical and a little cringe worthy for me. She manages to cast a spell to unbind her daughters’ powers before plunging to her death outside their home.
We cut three months later. Mel has become obsessed with her mother’s death and finishing the work she started, hoping to raise public awareness with a protest against the accused professor who’s now back at his old job. Mel and her girlfriend have split up. Maggie is so desperate to join her sorority.
Macy is introduced, she is a scientist who’s recently moved into town to work at the university’s lab. So all three sisters are involved with the college campus in some way.
When she steps in front of the sister's home, she realizes she has been there before. Later that night, Macy goes to confront the sisters with the shocking truth that she’s probably their half-sister, showing a picture of her as a baby with their mother in front of the house.
At the exact moment Macy steps through the doorway, a lightning strike kills the electricity, a sign that their powers have been reborn. The three sisters have trouble accepting this possible truth, get angry, and all go their separate ways. It's here that each learn about their powers. Macy teleports objects, Mel freezes time, and Maggie hears people’s thoughts when she touches them, or they touch her.
Enter Harry.
This is the work of Harry the new women’s studies professor and (surprise!) their Whitelighter. He has been dead for over half a century who has the powers of healing an teleportation.
I liked Harry and it is already more interesting than Leo. It appears he may not to be trusted as the mother via the spirit board says this to her daughters in the cliffhanger. It appears he's based off Leo but also Chris in the mystery of not trusting their whitelighter. Possibly he could be the big bad or maybe the elder sisters father.
Some of the people sitting beside me responded very well to Harry and Macy the most. I have high hopes Harry possibly could be a much more improved Leo and he doesn't become the punchbag he was in Classic Charmed. If the reaction to him is positive so far from people sitting near me, Leo has competition for sure.
The Source of all Evil is already mentioned and likely the one who killed their mother or I thought so.
The sisters do have chemistry and I didn't care at all about the potential love interests. They were the least interesting and hope don't take focus off the sisters like the Charmed we love did.
Melinda Warren is mentioned in the book of shadows. However I'm convinced she is just an easter egg nod and obviously not the Melinda Warren we know all too well.
Harry gives the sisters 48 hours to determine if they are going to accept their destiny as the Charmed Ones, or reject it and go about their normal lives. I liked this change. Much better to let them decide.
Only problem is if all the three sisters reject their destiny, they’ll not only lose their powers, they will forget they ever found each other.
Eventually they accept and vanquish their first demon. No surprises it is Tadius, who was actually the professor who had been suspended for sexual harassment. The CGI demon was pretty corny. Didn't care at all about it.
Also should be noted Science may play a big part of the show. Macy using science to help them understand their powers was actually one of the interesting parts I liked. Something different.
Now I am going to watch on and see episode 2. Looks okay but I need just one or two more to decide and see how they handle things beyond the pilot. Also curious what they are doing with Harry. But I just didn't like how hard they tried in some parts to be modern with the Metoo movement. Hoping it isn't that much in episode 2 or beyond. Doubtful.
I noticed during the pilot watching, though, that a lot of the jokes or attempts at jokes, didn’t hit the mark and got no response from the audience. Which I found interesting and this could be telling that the reboot just is trying way too hard.
The sisters had decent chemistry, but they just didn’t have the almost instantaneous connection the original set did.
After the screening was the panel Q&A. The producers have seen the original series. The reboot will seek to address a lots of the issues that are affecting society right now they said. Which brings back one of the earlier jokes about Donald Trump in the pilot.
I feel as if this series could possibly have never been picked up if the Metoo movement didn't happen. Feels like they are trying to cash in on it and using the Charmed name as a way to do it.
The actresses seemed very happy and get along fine. I just hope they don't try too hard and rely more on the love triangle of the sisters to engage an audience and stop throwing current events in our faces.
So I hope science is a new element going forward that has never been done in Classic Charmed. More building the sisters. Some conflict between Macy and Mel, since Mel was the older sister to Maggie her whole life.
