I'll try and do that later. But just popping in to add new press releases I've been working on. 



Since I know Halloween does occur on a Sunday when our fourth season would air, I just went by dates, and we HAVE to do a Halloween themed one for that day. So I put this one together.

I based this upon something real in Salem and felt it fitted well for our Halloween episode of Season 4, which would air exactly on that date.

Since we haven't gotten Shannen and Alyssa appearing in any episodes of S4 so far, maybe they can return in this one. Especially with the veil between worlds thin on Halloween, having them both crossover for this one day would be neat.


I was very tempted to have the third spirit who died on the site being Holly Marie Comb's character, but I went against this idea. Since we're making this as real as possible, and throwing all three stars into one show will just take the attention off our Warren stars. So I didn't even add her to the press release. Maybe for the fantasy casting thread. That would be my way of having all three together for an episode.


Oh, Pheebs! Especially because this really did happen in Salem, it's absolutely fantastic! Although I wish Halloween was closer to a Sunday in a different season because I'm not sure how well it will fit in Season Four with what we have in mind for the finale. But I'm sure we can somehow make it fit.

I'm wondering if for these episodes that are actually based on real life (I know there was another one earlier...the one about Bloody Mary) if you could do a Deadline press release telling the story behind them.

My only problem is the inclusion of Shannen and Alyssa. I really don't think we want them to appear in more than one episode a season - we want the spotlight to stay on TBC1, TBC2, TBC3, TBC4 and TBC5, not guest stars from Classic Charmed. I thought Mary Ann and Jenna were part of the Season 4/Season 5 ending, although that might just be Season 5 right now. If the're not part of any other S4 episode, this is perfect = as long as they're not the ones who rescue the Warrens - we don't want to turn them into something like Leo, always coming to the rescue, making it seem like the Warrens are helpless without their ancestors, especially when they're played by Classic Charmed actors AND Jenna's supposed to be a warlock! Unless we somehow show how she's changed, we might end up wanting to just have Alyssa guest star, not Shannen.

I was under the impression they were in our season premiere story of season 5, and not the season 4 finale. Unless I'm mistaken with ideas others have? Of course, we can easily adjust it for another season, I only placed it here all because October 31st was on a Sunday that year.

That would be cool to do a Deadline press release for the story behind those.

Maybe we can just have Alyssa guest star and not Shannen, of course maybe the Warren's just summon her for more information on who they are facing, and she doesn't actually come to help them.

Season 4, Episode 4: 'The Hauntings of the Joshua Ward House...'

HAPPY(?) HALLOWEEN, WARRENS! - It's Halloween time in Salem and the town has a festive celebration each year, which features a cornucopia of Halloween-like experiences from Family Film Nights to ghost tours and haunted houses. But the Warren family discover that this Halloween will be anything but just a normal day of celebrations - it's actually a trap.

When the veil between worlds thin on Halloween, the spirits of both Sheriff George ‘The Strangler’ Corwin and Giles Cory return, coming back for revenge against witches. They haunt the former Joshua Ward House, now a hotel, that has been transformed into a haunted house theme for the Halloween night. Sheriff George sets a siren that will lure any witch into the hotel, and once they're there, they can't leave. He's determined to traps all witches inside the hotel and then burn down the hotel, which will also free his and Cory's spirits.

As the Warrens struggle to fight off the spirit of Sheriff Corwin, a third spirit, a female who died on the property makes herself known. The spirits of Mary Ann and Jenna Warren (special guest stars Alyssa Milano and Shannen Doherty) soon makes the scene crossing through the veil between worlds. The Warrens think they're back in order to help their descendants out. Unfortunately, Jenna there to make things worse instead of better.

Es, I love your take on it. Especially with what you did with Jenna. 

If this is their only appearance in S4, great, if not, well we will adjust as needed since we do not want them in more than one a season of course.

But from how it looks right now, we only have one more in S3 to consider, and with what we had planned with all the time travel, it would make sense they are in that one. Unless we actually want them to have one season where they don't have a huge part and only make a small cameo.

Everything You Need To Know About The ‘Charmed’ Reboot 'Elemental Charmed'

In our exclusive interview, we dig deep and reveal seven secrets from the 'Elemental Charmed'

Charmed is one of television’s most iconic series led by female stars, and it is the love for the series that prompted The CW to give it a reboot. Charmed is returning in the fall of 2018, but it isn’t the same Power of Three that fans remember, and while some are adamantly against a reboot, others are open to it. The new Charmed aims to bring the same female empowerment and entertainment to audiences now as the original Charmed did during its eight season run from 1998-2006 starring Shannen Doherty (seasons 1-3), Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, and Rose McGowan (seasons 4-8), but with a modern twist. Ahead of the new Charmed, here is everything you need to know about the series:



7. The Premise


In early 2018, after what seemed like years of rumors about the show coming back, The CW finally announced it had ordered a pilot for a Charmed reboot. The logline from the network for the series read: "Set Salem, MA and follows the sisters who discover that they, along with their grandmother, mother, and aunt, are a family of witches who discover that between protecting those innocent of the knowledge of magic from the denizens of evil magic while maintaining familial bonds, a witch’s work is never done.



6. Their Powers


Instead of a Power of Three, we have a unit of five based around The five elements, Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Spirit. Each Warren will be able to tap into their own element, and some of their own elements allow them to do things that the others cannot. 


5. Differences


There are several other distinct changes from the original to the reboot. While the original series was based in San Francisco, the new series is set in Salem and focuses on not just sisters, but all types of relationship than just sisters, with mother-daughters, grandmother-grandchildren, and niece-aunty. 


4. A Real Witch


With 'Elemental Charmed' aiming to take a deeper look at different types of magic, executive producer Constance M. Burge revealed they hired an actual Salem witch for the writing staff who will help us to keep all the Salem mythology of witches and witch trials to be a little accurate and woven real stories from Salem into our show. Executive producer Burge explained, “[The writer] and her friends started a coven, I guess you’d call it. They would meet once a week and do spells and put energy out there towards goals that they wanted to accomplish… It’s directing energy and putting out what you want to come back.” “We have all kinds of belief systems in our room,” Burge continued. “But we all respect each other, and we're thrilled to have someone with an extensive knowledge of Salem as part of our writing team.”


3. The Trailer


After announcing the reboot in early 2018, The CW went full steam ahead into development and no one expected the series to be ready for the Fall 2018 TV season, but on May 17, 2018 the first trailer was released. The Warren house is noticeably similar to the Halliwell Manor, with some slight differences, and gives a glimpse of the Warren's lives before Patience's daughter's father Victor is killed, and them discovering their powers afterward. The trailer not only introduced the new Elemental Witches but also revealed that The Book of Shadows still plays a major part in the Warrens, Also back are warlocks, which will play a much larger part in this new take, in addition to protecting innocents and vanquishing all sorts of other supernatural evils.”

2. Premiere Date


Following the release of the official trailer, everyone wanted to know when the series would finally hit the air, and The CW made an interesting decision. 'Elemental Charmed' will premiere on Sunday, October 14, 2018 capitalizing off the theme of witches and the supernatural with the fall/Halloween season. Sunday night is an interesting choice for a timeslot, however the network slotted the premiere at 9 p.m. which is primetime, and also after the hit series Supergirl, making Sunday nights the ultimate girl power nights on the network.



1. Honoring The Original


Connie and the stars have made it clear that the new show has nothing but honor and respect for the original. “The original was so much about female empowerment and sisterhood with sisters who happen to be witches, not witches who happen to be sisters and I feel like that’s what we need right now”

Burge says of why she wanted to revive the fan favorite. “It felt like a good time to get back to that and show women kicking ass, and I want to be able to make this new show one that allows all walks of life and different generations be able to see themselves represented through different states of life experiences.” “Charmed is so iconic,” TBC5 said. “It laid the groundwork and we want to be respectful of that and the mythology of everything. We want to honor it while bringing a modern twist. Come join us!”

A DETERMINED WARREN, A WORRIED WARREN, A SICK WARREN, A HELPFUL WARREN AND A BLACKMAILED WARREN — A close friend of the Warren family who is also the professor in college who mentored Patience and encouraged her to follow her dreams as a forensic photographer has been killed outside an alley near her apartment building. When Patience uses a spell from their book of shadows to speed up the search process and the spell backfires, Prudence worries about her daughter as Patience's relentless search for the killer is taking a toll on her emotional state. But what can Prudence do that won't count as personal gain and probably backfire itself?

Meanwhile, Piper, who is bedridden sick with a fever, is very anxious about her restaurant, so Phoebe decides to help her sister by filling in for Piper with disastrous results.

Elsewhere, Paige has found herself with her own mystery at work - Bill, one of her coworkers, keeps disappearing and reappearing in odd places around her. Now she's learned that he believes in magic and has been studying Paige for some time and has caught her doing magic. Desperate to join her coven, Bill turns deadly when he demands Paige uses her magic for personal gain in his favor. 

During this whole episode, the Warrens learn that magical baddies aren't the only thing they need to worry about - non-magicals can be just as dangerous, just as deadly.

Season 1, Episode 13: 'The Price of Wealth is No Reward for Greed'

MAKING A PACT WITH THE DEMONESS OF WEALTH COMES WITH A HEAVY PRICE — The Petro family have lived a pretty great life - they run the most successful real estate company in Salem, own lots of properties, and live in a very fancy mansion. But is life as perfect as it seems for the Petro family or is it something too good to be true?

When Prudence - who was the Petro family's favorite doctor back in the day - is invited to an upcoming Pedro engagement party, she puts in a good word for her granddaughter and Piper is hired to cater the party. Prudence's invitation is for her "plus one" and since Patience has been called to take pictures at a crime scene and Phoebe is busy studying for an exam, she decides to bring Paige.

But either strange things happen or maybe it's just bad luck, but the engagement party is called off. But the following morning, Patience first tells them that the victim at last night's murder scene was one of the Petro and then she is called to take pictures at a different scene of a crime. There she discovers that the Pedro family have found out that the time has come to pay for the wealth they have received. Patience finds out that 30 years ago, the family was actually struggling financially, with their real estate business bankrupt and creditors threatening taking it to court, so one of the members made a deal with someone and then overnight things turned around for them.

Patience hurries home to check their book of shadows and finds out that the Demoness of Wealth is behind this and that the deal the Petro family made has started claiming their souls. But the book of shadows also informs Patience that the family might be able to break the pact if they truly let go of the wealth and greed and do something that benefits others and not themselves. But the Warrens discover that Demoness of Wealth won't give up without a fight.

Season 1, Episode 16: 'TBD'

THE WARRENS TEAMUP WITH ANOTHER WITCH CULTURE ON A RESCUE MISSION — Salem is being struck by a crime wave. There seems to be no link between the victims and their cause of death - burning from the inside out. But when Patience takes photos, she can't help but find the markings on the bodies interesting.

Patience investigates the photos of their deaths, at the same Paige is helping an immigrant family who have relocated to America recently to find their children. Both searches lead in the same direction - another immigrant most likely from their native country who is imprisoning the immigrant parents children.

The Warrens soon learn that the immigrants are really running away from someone in Kenya for 10 years and fearing the worst after their friends were killed. After the Warrens learn that a mob had burnt to death at least 11 people accused of witchcraft forcing the immigrant families to flee.  

Piper and Phoebe become interested in being exposed to other culture's ways in witchcraft, as is Prudence with their healing abilities as witch doctors.

Patience discovers that the burnings are unrelated to the families from Kenya and other Salem Witches who had tried to help rescue the children but failed from the other family. Reliving the immigrants in the hopes their friends are still alive too.

Prudence gets a premonition that shows the children locked in some abandoned building, still alive. 

While Prudence and Paige get a better understanding of the African witch culture from the parents and both trade stories. The other Warrens set out to rescue the children and find the other families. But are unprepared for what lies ahead and just how dangerous it is when they fall right into a trap.

Feel free to edit as you wish. If anyone wants to adjust go ahead, I did some digging on African witchcraft and the mob killing 11 people was a report in Kenya in May 2008.

So I thought this story could be interesting like the sisters coming into contact with the Gypsies in The Eyes Have It. Other witch cultures or different traditions.

But I'm hoping to read more to get a better understanding of African witchcraft. I do know it seems they burn witches and not like Salem that  have them hung. 

I also like Prudence learning about witch doctor healings and possibly a new healing techniques that she didn't think before or learns more accurately.

I also hope we can give the immigrants proper names. But I am not sure what ones? So anyone have suggestions?

Feel free to edit or change or make suggestions? Or correct me?

About the only thing I didn't like was the addition of a real witch, since it seems to imply that the series will mainly be about other witch cultures while we want our series to be about the Elemental Witches. Like Classic Charmed, we want ours to be fantasy magic, where we can have them do whatever we want them to do, no matter if a real witch could do it or not. Yeah, I can see why adding a Salem Witch would do that now. Before also noticing we have existing former writers on the honoring part.

Again why your job as editor is always so valuable.

But of course we can pretend our writers Connie and such payed closer attention to being inspired by Salem and researching anything that helps inspire them for ideas. I do want Salem and the actual history of Salem's culture as in the towns woven in with stories as I'm trying with any history or something really happening in Salem, I find that can fit with a story adopted into our series. Unlike Classic Charmed with San Francisco not having justice for their cities history.

But maybe I went the wrong way about it by wording it as a Salem witch when I meant the towns history in general and what happens in Salem during festivals and other such stuff. That's the job of Connie and the writers to do with story research and inspiration.

I'm fine with that. Especially sincs five secrets actually sounds great to honor our five stars.

Keep reining me in to not fall off track Es with something that sounds more ripoff less our series.

'Charmed' is returning in the fall of 2018, but it isn’t the same Power of Three that fans remember, and while some are adamantly against a reboot, saying that it's much too soon, others are open to it. The new 'Charmed' aims to bring the same female empowerment and entertainment to audiences now as the original 'Charmed' did during its eight-season run from 1998-2006 starring Shannen Doherty (seasons 1-3), Holly Marie Combs (seasons 1-8), Alyssa Milano (seasons 1-8), and Rose McGowan (seasons 4-8), but with a modern twist. Ahead of the new 'Charmed', here is everything you need to know about 'Elemental Charmed':

5. The Premise

In early 2018, after what seemed like years of rumors about the show coming back, The CW finally announced it had ordered a pilot for a 'Charmed' reboot, specifically asking the original creator of the series to write the story and choose the writers. The logline from the network for the series reads: "Set in Salem, MA, and follows twp sisters who discover that they, along with their grandmother, mother, and aunt, are a family of witches who discover that between protecting those innocent of the knowledge of magic from the denizens of evil magic while maintaining familial bonds and outside jobs, a witch’s work is never done. Rather than Halliwell, their family name is Warren, honoring Classic Charmed's Melinda Warren, the first Warren to be born in America. But unlike Classic Charmed, these Warrens really have kept their maiden name...

4. Their Powers

Rather than a Power of Three, we have a unit of five based around the five elements, Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Spirit. Each Warren will be able to tap into her own element, which will allow her to do things that the non-magical and other witches cannot. Their symbol isn't the triquetra but the pentagram.

3. Differences

There are several other distinct changes from the original to the reboot. While the original series was based in San Francisco, the new series is set in Salem so it can bring up the infamous witch trials. Also with two sets of sisters - one of one set the mother of the others set - the series will focus on not just sisters, but all types of relationship than just sisters, with mother-daughters, grandmother-grandchildren, and niece-aunt. Although the names will sound familiar: Prudence (never Prue!), Patience (never Patty!), Paige, Phoebe and Piper, their last name is Warren and Prudence is the matriarch while Patience and Paige are her daughters and Phoebe and Piper are Patience's daughter. They're also each from a different generation: Prudence is 70; Patience is 50; Paige is 40; Piper is 30 and Phoebe is 20. This is quite different from most The CW projects and The CW is very curious to see how it all works out.

But The CW went full steam ahead into development, and on May 17, 2018 the first trailer was released. Warren Manor is noticeably similar to Halliwell Manor, with some slight differences, including an obvious attic, and first gives a glimpse of the lives of the three older Warrens before Patience's daughters' father is killed, leading to the younger set discovering their own powers and their family's destiny as the Elemental Witches.

The trailer not only introduced the new Elemental Witches but also revealed that their own family book of shadows still plays a major part, along with the matriarch's premonitions. Also back are warlocks, which will play a much larger part in this new take, in addition to protecting innocents - and in this series, innocents are non-magicals (not mortals, since the Warrens are mortals) who are innocent of the existence of magic - and vanquishing all sorts of other supernatural evils.

Following the release of the official trailer, everyone wanted to know when the series would finally hit the air, and The CW made an interesting decision. 'Elemental Charmed' will premiere on Sunday, October 14, 2018, capitalizing off the theme of witches and the supernatural with the fall/Halloween season. Sunday night can be a dangerous choice for a new series, but the network slotted the premiere at 9 p.m. which is prime time, and also placed it after the hit series 'Supergirl', making Sunday nights the ultimate girl power nights on the network.

48 hours! This is pretty intense, but the perfect spot to end on a cliffhanger. I'm sure the Warren's are going to be so very shocked to learn the truth about Andrea.

A quick question though, if Peyton shapeshifted into an older version of herself, Paige knows her daughter is back. But doesn't know she's taken over Andrea unless she lets her know. So unless when she changes back into a witch, she tries to suppress her memories of her bad days or she just has a memory problem.

Then again, maybe when she changes back into a witch, Does Peyton quickly cover her tracks by shapeshifting into someone else much like Cole did with the Seer, so they don't find out yet.

That's a *very* good question, Sasha, something I hadn't considered when I was doing my edits. Anyone have any ideas on how we can fix this?

Thanks for bringing this across. I see most are still trying to figure it out. 

I have my own suggestion if that will be of use to you guys.

1) Paige knows that Peyton is inside Andrea, but the pair keeps up appearances with Peyton continuing to be Andrea around the other Warrens and act like regular old Andrea. Although I guess if she uses the Peyton adult shapeshift form, would her family recognize that she looks like an older version of Paige's daughter they think died? Maybe they are too busy to notice or figure out right away. 

2) They do find out about Peyton and she does keep appearing as adult Peyton all the time, but just don't know she's taken the possession of Andrea. So Prudence is worried that Andrea isn't returning her calls, and they eventually put the two and two together. Maybe the question of Peyton can't be saved comes into question, but once they learn that she's inside Andrea, does that give Peyton a reason to escape and get out of dodge for a while, they can't bring themselves to kill her because if they did Andrea dies too.

About the only thing I didn't like was the addition of a real witch, since it seems to imply that the series will mainly be about other witch cultures while we want our series to be about the Elemental Witches. And since none of us are actually witches, I don't think we'd be able to add actual witchcraft to our story the way the rip-off might want to. Like Classic Charmed, we want ours to be fantasy magic, where we can have them do whatever we want them to do, no matter if a real witch could do it or not. So, Pheebs, I hope you don't mind if I took out that paragraph. If you *really* want it, I'll put it back.

Along the same lines, I also took out the bit about honoring the original. That was something that was important for something as different from Classic Charmed as the rip-off, but with Connie producing it and Sheryl, Chris, Zach and Paul writing it, along with the names used, having Connie or any of the stars say they're honoring the original just doesn't feel right to me - it actually sounds conceited.

If I'm reading that wrong, go ahead and let me know and I'll put it back.

But of course, we can pretend our writers Connie and such paid closer attention to being inspired by Salem and researching anything that helps inspire them for ideas. I do want Salem and the actual history of Salem's culture as in the towns woven in with stories as I'm trying with any history or something really happening in Salem, I find that can fit with a story adopted into our series. Unlike Classic Charmed with San Francisco not having justice for their cities history.

But maybe I went the wrong way about it by wording it as a Salem witch when I meant the town's history in general and what happens in Salem during festivals and other such stuff. That's the job of Connie and the writers to do with story research and inspiration.

Well, I'm glad you are incorporating some things that actually happened in Salem. We know Classic Charmed did not much with San Francisco. That I do like, I just don't think as Es said not going deep into witchcraft and more fantasy magic, and the Elemental Witches.

But if you just like to keep on digging into archives and basing real events from Salem for the EC stories. That I do like and will make this series feel real and Salem much more a central part of EC than CC ever did use San Francisco.

That's the parts I do get picky about when I watch television shows and movies. Like witches being burned not hung in Salem, no snow in a state that does snow just stuff like that.

So Pheebs keep being inspired by anything you read about Salem that might fit for EC, an event (that can tie into the villain of the week) or even location in Salem that might work for your stories or press releases.

A SPECIAL CHRISTMAS THEMED EPISODE OF 'ELEMENTAL CHARMED'  - Celebrating Christmas has been a big part of Piper and Phoebe lives growing up, as their late father Victor always threw the best ones, and neither feels like celebrating this year on the first one without him and wanting to even ditch Christmas eve dinner.

But when the two are off at the mall deciding on last-minute gifts for their family, they end up finding a father who has lost touch with his daughters and is dying of cancer in a year, but a spell to help him out, backfires and sends the three on a little journey through time, as they watch the life of this man with them popping in and out of various times of his life and begin to appreciate just how precious family really is, and realize just how lucky they were to have had a father like Victor, and that they should be honoring him at Christmas not rejecting it. In the process, they end up missing the planned Christmas Eve dinner with Prudence, Patience, and Paige.

Meanwhile, as Prudence, Patience, and Paige wait for Piper and Phoebe to return home, the three investigate a series of strange home invasions in their very own neighborhood, a little-spoiled girl wreaks havoc on Christmas for everyone, all because she wants her step-mother to go away forever and get back at her father for not taking her mother back. The three each decide to teach this girl the true meaning of Christmas with a spell.

Patience is in the process of frantically searching for the perfect gift for her daughters. An old family video of the last ever Christmas they had together before Piper and Phoebe moved away to live with Victor across the country. But can't seem to find it among the still unopened boxes from the girls move to Salem a few months ago.

I had an earlier idea of Piper & Phoebe turning into children from a spell that backfires when they want to remember the best Christmas they ever had growing up, which brings forth some ghost as well haunting and needing to learn the true meaning of Christmas to move on. But I didn't know where to go with it. If anyone knows how to work that angle, go for it!

It's 11:38 PM here in Minneapolis, so it's a bit early, but I want to wish everyone who's been helping in some way to create 'Elemental Charmed' no matter if you wrote press releases, commented on press releases or even just read press release, a VERY HAPPY ONE-MONTH ANNIVERSARY! I can't believe our baby is already a month old and growing - a lot quicker than I thought she would!

WOW, Sasha, you really did dive right in, and at a quick glance, this looks fantastic! Unfortunately I'm BEAT from doing the one-month-day update so I'll give it a better read and edit tomorrow morning.

Such a feat in just one month. By Christmas time, I can't begin to wonder how much we might have achieved.
