A week filled with lots of trial and error. Both with good and bad news.

Bad news first: Jean was using the walkers to walk as the rehab staff help her to get back to normal. She had a bad fall, and now Jean has a broken leg. I'll admit, we are upset thinking that the staff was not taking care of my sister. Turns out the nurse was out of the room for 1 minute when Jean attempted to get out of bed and walk on her own. I don't blame her for being in ICU for three months on a vent, she is eager to walk again and get out and do stuff on her own, but we've all told her to press the buzzer and rely on staff and not get out of bed herself if she can't, even if she thinks she can. But still, the poor thing has enough on her plate trying to get better, now she has to recover with a broken leg, which delays her recovery.

Still has signs of forgetting things and tired often.

Good news: Jean was in good spirits on Friday morning (the best she has been all week), that she was watching something on the Ipad I brought in, and finally got to watch the first episode of Superman and Lois. She was so happy to watch a show for the first time in months. She really liked it, but needs to re-watch it again she said when she can go home when it's time. The nurses might allow her a television in the room, and I do hope they will, as when she has no visitors it will be boring.

Oh poor Jean. I'm glad she enjoyed watching Superman and Lois but not that she fell and broke her leg because she didn't wait for the nurse to help her get out of bed although we can't really blame her having been in a coma 3 months then.

Hopefully nothing else happens and that what happened is a reminder to ask for help if she needs it obviously.

Poor Jean, how horrible for that to happen, sorry to hear she broke her leg, but I'm so happy to hear that she was able to enjoy Superman and Lois and help keep her mind off stuff. Fingers crossed she is allowed a TV so she can be less bored. I know I would be no visitors are present just lying there.



I'm happy to hear that is the worst that happened, and we didn't get any other updates that could've been. Jean should've waited for the nurse, but being stuck in hospital, or on the vents that long, I can imagine she is just eager to go home and get her life back.

Poor Jean. A broken leg is not good, but it could've been a lot worse. Patience is needed with recovery, but don't blame her for feeling frustrated and wanting to get better and go home.

I'm happy she at least got to entertain herself watching something.

Poor Jean, that so upsetting to hear. She can't catch a break. I'm just hoping the nurses let her have a television because being able to watch shows she loves will be a great way to be distracted and help her to recover.

New weekly update on Jean.

Firstly. Thank you, Tim. I have looked at the page set up on the board, and so glad I was able to read it without being a member.

I was able to show this to Jean via my smartphone, and the messages touched her so much. She got emotional.

This week, Jean had no major issues after last week's fall. It's just a week of continued recovery. She really wants her life back, and why she really wants that television.

The nurse IS going to allow a television set in her room, they are just waiting until another patient is discharged on Monday, so said set can be moved into her room.

So glad she's doing well and that our messages touched her.

Will continue to pull through for her obviously.

Very Happy seeing the messages touched her. I'll keep her in my thoughts hoping for her recovery to go well.

Everyone part of CCDOW/rewatches is thinking of her and looks forward to seeing her back to her normal self again and able to join them again when she's okay to do so.

I'm sure she'll be thrilled to have a television next week to keep her entertained and less bored.

New news on Jean which's a little later this week as her sister was away this weekend celebrating memorial day.

Hi Tim. Sorry for the late reply. But been busy with Memorial Day Weekend and went away for the weekend for the first time in a year since the pandemic started. While our mother spent the day with Jean today so she wasn't alone on Memorial Day. 

Sending this message this evening. I came home and took a nap after the long drive and woke up not too long ago. This week although Jean is in good spirits and finally has her television in her room and got to enjoy some shows which she so needed. She had a week of side effects still including some dizziness and shortness of breath on Wednesday. Again it concerned us but just the doctors told us just more common side effects post covid as she recovers.

I thought that could be the case and why I didn't see an update on Saturday.

I'm happy Jean will have a TV to help her boredom and be entertained while recovering.

The latest from Jean's sister.

Although Jean loves being entertained with her television and being less bored, she still got those side effects with dizziness, and some of her hair is falling out now. Again side effects we were warned about. But Jean is in good spirits since I'm sure having a set to keep her mind busy is helping.

Even though Jean has had COVID. She absolutely can still get the vaccine we got told, as while they know recovering from a COVID infection means you will have to circulate antibodies in your system, they are still learning how the immune system handles the antibody response after a natural infection. When Jean recovers and is out, she'll hope to get it.

I'm glad she' s doing okay also and know her hair will grow back of course.

Hopefully she does get vaccinated when that's allowed as Jean wouldn't want any set backs then.

This post's a little sooner than usual because of a weather warning of a storm and blackout that's been issued where Jean's family lives so her sister updated earlier than usual to be safe than sorry. 

UPDATE: It's come a bit earlier than normal. Just being on the safe side as we got a weather warning of storms and a blackout for the weekend. So playing it safe and giving you an update early.

Still side effects with Jean being dizzy and shortness of breath.

But she absolutely loved Superman and Lois on Tuesday night. She is blown away by the quality of the show. Loves her Kents. Especially Jonathan Kent. And Clark and Lois relationship and working together doing journalism. Didn't see the twists coming this week. She'd grade this one an A+. The show makes her troubles go away while she recovers and keeps her mind forgetting she's in a rehab hospital.

I'm glad she enjoyed Superman and Lois and hope she continues to do so then and the side effects will pass over time obviously.

I'm so happy that Jean has something that lets her be distracted and forget where she is in the hospital. I'm hoping this helps so much for her recovery.

It Was Father's Day so was busy with that. But am free now to update you, Tim.

Jean got a little treat, she got to spend father's day with her dad. THE BEST PART, the nurse allowed her to leave her room for the first time in forever for twenty mins, and she was wheeled in her wheelchair outside the room. That made her cry, as she has been inside a hospital room for four months straight. They have a small area in the rehab hospital that is an outside part with a small garden where patients are allowed outside for a bit while still not leaving the property as it's in the middle of the hospital to an outside extension. Due to social distancing rules, only two are allowed here, the patient and one family member.

She caught up with S&L and continues to praise Jonathan for having no powers, and hopes it stays that way. While loving Lana this episode. She can't wait for the flashback episode coming this week.

She misses Team Charmed Cafe and the Cafe and GTTS boards and hopes her CCDOW teams are having fun with that during the summer.

Still has her side effects, but is taking it, one day at a time.

If so glad Jean was able to see her father yesterday and to be able to leave her room for 20 minutes then.

It's nice she's enjoying Superman and Lois and likes how Jonathan has no abilities and Lana portraying Lara-El for a bit last episode obviously.

Of course, everyone misses her and hopes she recovers well and comes back when Jean feels better.

Reading this thread. So sorry to hear a mrmber Jean got Covid. I'm relieved to hear she's now recovering in rehab hospital.

I'm very happy she got to spend Father's Day with her dad visiting. And she was allowed out of her room for twenty minutes in a wheelchair.

We all miss her too and are all pulling for her to make a full recovery. And can't wait to see her return to CCDOW and our re-watches when she's ready and can.

New weekly Jean update.

This week although Jean continues to take it one day at a time. She had a little PTSD moment earlier this week and took it a little bad, after having a nightmare she ended up back in ICU. Although she was able to be calmed and was okay the next day.

She hopes everyone had a great Fathers Day last weekend, the way she did. It meant so much to her to be with our dad, and allowed twenty minutes to leave her room in a wheelchair.

It's nice Jean saw her dad but a shame also she had a nightmare then which's understandable considering what's happened obviously.

Hopefully, she'll bounce back over time and be okay again.
