As suggested below the reason for the late reply from Jean's sister is because of 4th July celebrations which I'm glad she enjoyed of course.

4th of July weekend was great (the reason for my late reply as was busy with that), and Jean was treated to another surprise, with two visits and two times allowed in her wheelchair out of the room to the small garden area for twenty minutes on Sunday and Friday.

Jean had another PTSD episode on Thursday, but luckily she was happy the nurses allowed her to go to the small garden on Friday to cheer her up in her wheelchair.

Sweet Jean got two visits and was allowed out twice last week.

Hopefully, she does get help for her PTSD also then.

I'm so THRILLED to hear she got two visits. She's getting the best care it seems from doctors and nurses.

I sure hope she can get help for her PTSD.

New weekly update from Jean's sister.

A doctor came in Thursday to look at Jean's broken leg. It's healing, but slowly. Still a while off getting it taken off.

The doctors and nurses are making arrangements to get Jean to help with her PTSD. Which is fantastic. I'm so happy with the staff here, with how well they are taking care of my sister and doing their job.

It's good Jean's leg's healing and fantastic the doctors are getting help for her PTSD then.

I look forward to seeing her back online when she can and feels up to it obviously as we all miss Jean of course.

Latest update from Jean's sister then.

Jean is now vaccinated against COVID-19. We had a nurse come to visit her to do it in the rehab, rather than having her have to go elsewhere. Jean has wanted to get hers as soon as she was told she could. And when they said she was safe to get it.

This ALSO helps Jean in more ways as the best way to prevent post-COVID conditions (or the worse ones including lung, heart, and liver problems) is by getting vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as you can. But of course, post-vaccine side effects, for Jean might be more than just a headache or sore arm, given her condition and what she has been through. It might take Jean a few weeks or longer for her body to build immunity.

But NO FREAKING WAY Jean didn't want to get it. This has been on her mind the second she was negative with covid. She is overjoyed now.

Fantastic Jean got vaccinated and having had covid already she'll have more antibodies than someone who hasn't yet so she may only need one jab then unless she has two obviously.

Slow small steps but I'm glad she's improving constantly.

SO HAPPY FOR JEAN. Yes, Jean having had COVID, she'll have more antibodies than someone who hasn't yet. I'm guessing she'd have gotten the one jab J&J dose.

Another step in her recovery. Hope her leg heals and she can get over her PTSD.

This update's a little earlier than usual this week because Jean's family are Olympic fans and so will be watching the Toyoko games over the weekend then.

My update is earlier this week Tim. Since our family are HUGE Olympics fans, and Jean will be watching it rehab. So I wanted to get in an update in case I get distracted by it.

Jean is feeling great after her vaccine one week on. Although someone is going to help her through her PTSD with some assistance a few times a week. Her leg is healing but much slower than they thought.

Doctors have hinted that she might be able to FINALLY be discharged and go home in 6-7 weeks. This news overjoys us. It's the first time they have said anything like this. It gives us all hope. I sure hope so, Jean has been inside a hospital or rehab room since February.

I'm so happy Jean's doing well and continues to improve then meaning she could be home within 6-7 weeks obviously and  the help she'll get for her PTSD will be good for her as well of course.

SO HAPPY, she got her vaccine. And happy to hear that there's a chance she might be able to go home in 6-7 weeks. Here's hoping she'll get more help with her PTSD. Just being away from home for six months, no doubt contributed to it. I sure can't imagine what it would feel like to be stuck in a hospital bed or rehab room for that long.

With the Olympics over which Jean and her family watched her sister has now started updating again. 

Olympics are over. So time for updates again.

The doctors have said that Jean's recovery has come a long way. But we've reached a bump in the road this week. *sigh* they are running tests to make sure she doesn't have any kidney failures as some signs have gotten them concerned. Keeping our fingers crossed.

Other than that, Jean loved watching the Olympics and cheering everybody on television in her rehab room. Also, the S&L finale is on this week.

I'm glad Jean's improving each week and that she enjoyed watching the Olympics and cheering on the participants then. I'm also pleased she's enjoyed watching Superman And Lois.

I hope the tests come back saying she doesn't have kidney failure though. Fingers crossed there then.

Well, it has been said some people can develop Kidney failure from having COVID which I pray Jean doesn't have.

I'm also hoping she doesn't get long COVID either which some have said can be even worse than this perhaps depending on the severity of that obviously.

I have new update on Jean but it isn't good unfortunately. Here it is then.

Hi Tim. So sorry didn't update, it hasn't been a good time. But I'm afraid I have bad news and lots of stress we've gone through especially Jean.

Jean has been moved out of the rehab hospital and back into hospital for treatment of her early stage kidney failure.

Good news it's been detected early enough that they hope she can get treatment with the use of medications.

If there aren't any other problems, the kidneys may heal themselves. In most other cases such as acute kidney failure can be treated if it's caught early. It may involve changes to Jean's diet, the use of medications, or even dialysis.

We're praying this medication works or they'll have to take the next step with other options.

If it isn't bad enough for Jean. We were this close to discharge, now looks like she won't be going home anytime soon. And her depression and anxiety levels are through the roof again.

Thanks so much, Tim, and for all the support you and her friends at the forums send her. I know, it seems to never end for her.

Me too. Good sign, it hasn't gotten worse. I just woke up this morning early, and phoned the hospital and talked to a nurse before I head down later today, and got another update, so I'll update you again.

The nurse told me, Jean is responding nicely to the medication, and she is in good spirits, she sure wasn't the past two weeks (don't blame her, if you got moved out of rehab back to the hospital, I'd be freaking out too after coming so close to discharge). So that takes lots of stress off myself and our family, especially Jean.

Keeping my fingers crossed this does mean they really have caught the kidney problems early. I feel so happy with the medical staff, they are just so good at taking care of Jean.

Oh not just when things were starting to go okay Jean gets a setback then.

Thank god the doctors caught the kidney failure early and she's responding to medication alright then.

Hopefully, things don't progress any further fingers crossed.

This week update from Jean's sister says.

Medication is working SO WELL! Doctors truly are hopeful that they have caught the kidney problems early. Of course, she'll be staying here for observations. They don't want to move her back to rehab anytime soon until they are certain the medication is working.

But all in all, it hasn't gotten worse this week. So I take that as a good sign.

I'm so happy the medications working for Jean and that she's doing well otherwise of course.

Hopefully, she continues to improve and gets out of the hospital but I do understand the doctors keeping her there until they know things are progressing okay then.

Poor Jean, being stuck inside a hospital bed since February. I'm praying and hoping she can get better and be discharged in the next month or so.

Latest from Jeans sister.

The medication is working for Jean and she will be fine kidney wise,

But we ran into some problems non-Jean's health, with getting her moved back to rehab, but because the centre is full. We had to make other plans and so much stress. As the doctors wanted her discharged from the hospital, now that her medication worked and she's better, as they need her bed. So we've been pretty annoyed like they just want her gone, and Jean got especially emotional and had some issues with thinking they don't care for her.

Luckily after all that, she got a bed in the same rehab hospital as before only five days ago. And the doctor told us two days ago, that Jean's broken leg is healing nicely and she'll get to get the cast off soon. And the nurses will help her learn to try to walk on her own in a week. Here's hoping this is another step in the road to recovering and being discharged. I hope before Thanksgiving if not earlier. Fingers crossed.

I'm glad she's doing better though doctors can learn a thing or two about patient care even if I understand the need for beds nonetheless.

Hopefully Jean makes it back home by Thanksgiving although I know that mightn't happen right away.

I don't like the sounds of those doctors. I don't blame Jean, she's been in a hospital or rehab hospital since February.

Praying and hoping Jean can go home by Thankgiving.

Finally got a new update on Jean which consists as follows. 

GREAT news Jean's cast has came off. She's learning to walk with the nurses every day but had a bit of trouble but every little progress counts. So she's trying to walk slow but making sure a nurse is beside her so we don't run into another accident. She knows to take it easy.

Keeping fingers crosses she can be discharged by around or about Thanksgiving. That's the earliest date they said although if she's okay it could be sooner.

But luckily no set backs for the past few weeks. I'm relieved and praying and counting down the days until she can be discharged.

Fantastic news about Jean's cast coming off and that she's continuously improving with help then.

Here's hoping she does get discharged around Thanksgiving and gets to go home then which is about time I say.
