SO HAPPY for Jean, I'm praying and hoping she has no more set backs, and can be discharged and go home around Thanksgiving. Poor thing has lost nearly a year of her life.

There's finally been some new news on Jean after her sister hadn't updated in a few weeks but it's not all good I'm afraid. 

Sadly the doctor has given us the word, he doesn't think she is ready yet. Jean got a fever the other week, and NO, it's not any COVID symptoms as she tested negative, but her immune system is still a bit weak as she builds up strength and thinks she should stay in a few more weeks.

We are praying and hoping it's Christmas, I'm praying for a good sign, so I hope everyone at the forums can join us in praying and hoping she can be discharged by Christmas. I'd hate Jean to STILL be in there until next year, that will push it to a whole year.

But the GOOD news, they have organized us allowed to come to see her on Thanksgiving, in fact, we're allowed to bring her a Thanksgiving cooked meal for her, and can stay as long as we want.

This year, my family decided to have our thanksgiving dinner done earlier on Saturday because we DON'T want Jean to miss out, and no way my sister should be all alone on Thanksgiving and will be spending the time with her there.

It's a shame Jean caught a fever but glad it wasn't COVID then.

I will keep her in my thoughts and hope she can get home for Christmas because she's been in the hospital a long length of course.

At least her family can visit her thanksgiving with a cooked meal which will be nice for her actually.

I'm sorry to hear shedidn't get to go home by Thanksgiving. I'm glad she just had a fever and not COVID. But lucky she got her vaccine before.

I will for sure keep her in my thoughts and prayers and hope she can get home by Christmas. It's been way too long.

Poor Jean, can't catch a break. I'm so glad her family can give her a Thanksgiving meal on the day.

Fantastic news about Jean which was recently received.

IT'S OFFICIAL! Jean's discharge papers have been officially signed. She'll get to be discharged tomorrow afternoon on Sunday, and will be back home in time for Christmas.

After 10 LONG MONTHS. Jean will make her long-awaited return home.

She'll be continuing her recovery at home, with us looking out for her. And a nurse will be visiting her weekly for further-check ups.

When Jean is up to it, as I'm being home will be an adjustment and she might have some anxiety and feel overwhelmed to be home. I'll let you know when she's ready to come back online so everyone can give her a big welcome back.

I'M JUST OVERJOYED TIM! The best Christmas gift we could have gotten.

I'm so happy Jean will be home for Christmas even if she'll recover there still.

She sure does deserve that after losing 10 months of her life to COVID then.

Of course, all her online friends at the Cafe will give her a massive virtual hug when she's ready to come back obviously.

The latest from Jean's sister about her been back home for Christmas.

Hi Tim. It was wonderful having Jean with the family for Christmas. But very overwhelming for her, she was crying. The nurse came for her weekly visit/check up and said her PTSD symptoms are back with fear she'll go back to hospital. Very overwhelmed to be home but happy.

But she's so happy to be sleeping in a normal bed again.

But she hopes GTTS, the Cafe and her CCDOW group all had a lovely Christmas and a safe new year.

I also wish Jean and her family a happy new year as well and hope she keeps on improving over time and doesn't wind up back in hospital again hopefully.

Here's the latest from Jean's sister after a month's wait. 

Jean is getting her regular treatments checkups from the nurse visits. Past month has been a process with Jean having PTSD. Lots of overwhelming feelings. However her health has improved gladly not 100%. Nurse said she's at 70% health wise recovered. It's just her mental health. Don't blame her she spend nearly a year in hospital. So I get how hard it might be adjusting back to normal.

I'm glad Jean's doing well health-wise even if it will take time mentally for her to recover then.

Of course, being in hospital for nearly a year would take its toll on anyone there and make it hard to adjust back home obviously.

Hopefully with continued support from friends, nurses, and family Jean will be back 100% not before too long in time for her next birthday.

I'm glad her health is okay. But I understand why her mental health isn't, given she was in hospital for nearly a year. That would be enough to give you PTSD.

After a few months away an update on Jean has finally been received from her sister which here it is then.

Jean's slowly making her way back to recovery (her PTSD is ongoing but less bad than a few months ago). Her health did take a bit of a scare last month, however, it turned out nothing too serious. Well, it is not life-threatening but still bad. She got diagnosed with arthritis. So she'll just have to manage that, and she'll get plenty of care and help.

Jean's moved out of her home. Since she lived alone (and 30 minutes away from me). Now has bought the house in the same street as me. We're now basically neighbors then. She lives about a street away from me. It makes life easier, so I can visit my sister every day to check on her by walking 3 minutes down the street. So the whole family has been helping her move. And she's much happier in her new neighborhood closer to family.

Hopefully, Jean when she's ready will reconnect with her online friends again. She's been thinking of her GTTS, Cafe, and CCDOW family. Hoping everybody's safe and healthy.

I'm glad to hear from Jean's sister finally because I did wonder what might've been happening as nothing was detailed from her since February but do understand with what's been said here why anything wasn't related then.

It's good Jean's moved right near her sister because then she and her family can support her more but it's upsetting also that she's developed arthritis after covid but I suppose at least she hasn't relapsed with the former again which is better here I guess.

Hopefully, with help, Jean continues pulling through and gets well soon so when she is alright she can come back online again if she wants to obviously.

Very happy to hear an update on Jean. I was wondering about her these past months.

It's sad to hear she's developed arthritis after covid but that's better than the alternate with more health complications due after surviving COVID. I'm happy she got her booster.

Hoping, that when she's ready she'll resume her online life.

Finally saw an update on Jean after so long from her sister which was sent on the 30th of November.

Apologies for the lateness but only just caught this myself.

We had a busy thanksgiving.

It was emotional for Jean to be here with us all. She's doing better. And her arthritis is getting regularly tested by a doctor. But a few more other tests to sort out to make sure she hadn't got any other conditions. Touch wood.

Good news. For the first time in nearly two years (actually three due to the 2020 lockdowns per Jean's Covid). Jean is going to be taking a well-deserved long vacation. Poor girl deserves it and I think earned it.

The whole family including me have organized it. She'll do her dream of visiting ten states of the USA across three months. I spoke to her doctors and all and they've said with her PTSD starting to get better. This will help her so much. But not to rush it. So she'll take that trip between April and June next year.

I'm so glad she's improving better and that her arthritis is getting checked regularly.

Yes, Jean does deserve a break after everything she's been through as well.

Hopefully, when she's 100% better she will come back online herself.

I'm so happy to hear she's doing better. Jean so deserves a trip away after all she's been through for the past two years. I'm hoping that after she's healed and gotten her well deserved holiday, she'll come back online when she's ready.
