Yeah, Shannen wasn't given the best episode to work with. It's not the best episode by all means and not the best episode among the three she directed. Interesting that Holly directed Shannen when she had to act. I'm assuming Holly did the same thing in ABHL. I wonder if Julian directed Shannen when she had to act in TGTBATC. Courtesy of Brad Kern. I don't mind the episode. I agree it's not the best, but I don't think it's the worst, either. It just doesn't scream S2 finale, to me.

I liked this episode because of Prue and Pipers relationship.
The teenage Prue and modern day Piper running toward each other shot is really well done. With Holly's hair flip... but then the demon catches teenage Prue and stabs her.
Pipers reaction is amazing.
Alyssa would have hated been bossed around by Shannen.
I think Prue should have wish to fly.
And it would have been great to see Freebie from Season 1 in this episode instead!

Drew can't wait to wrap up the rewatch in this episode. He must be looking at which car he's going to buy with the merch he's sold most recently. They refer to Alyssa as 'her'. I skipped through it. Shannen couldn't even save this rewatch. Holly is a strange person. She was best friends with Shannen when that one was disgracefully fired after an alleged feud with Alyssa and/or Kern but stayed on the show nonetheless. After Charmed had ended, she regularly directed snarky remarks at Alyssa (e.g. her college response) while remaining close with Shannen. When those two, Shannen and Holly, had their presumed time of dissent she suddenly teamed up with Alyssa and they both appeared on ER or whatever medical show it was. Now, after apparently habing reconciled with Shannen and being close again, Alyssa appears to be a "nobody" to her. Doesn't feel right for an outsider.

I randomly thought yesterday of which of the four leads would be the best to be stuck in an elevator with, and Holly was the first person I thought of to avoid. Put plainly, she just doesn't seem very nice.

Now, after apparently habing reconciled with Shannen and being close again, Alyssa appears to be a "nobody" to her. Doesn't feel right for an outsider. Like Rose & Shannen, Holly didn't really have a choice. Holly wanted to leave after her gal pal Shannen got fired. Should read the Holly and Shannen No Longer Friends Thread and understand contracts. I'm tired of some (not all) people saying "if they're unhappy, they should leave." It's not that simple: Thank you, for posting this. It definitely answered a lot of questions, even though I already knew a lot of them based off of deductive reasoning. I went through this podcast, in order to get Time-Stamps, along with a little bit of a transcript-ish, for those interested. 46m20s - 46m22sInterviewer: Do you still talk to her? Holly: I do. I still talk to her, occasionally. 53m58s - 54m04sInterviewer: So, when she left, what did that do, to the dynamic? Holly: It was a surprise to both of us. 54m08s - 54m13sHolly: Shannen had asked out of her contract, December, the year before. 54m14s - 54m16sInterviewer: Did you know, she was not happy? Holly: Yeah. 56m20s - 56m30sHolly: It was a shock, when she had asked out, in December, they had told her, of that year, they had told her "no, you're under contract, you're not going, anywhere. Get over it", basically. 58m30s - 58m54sHolly: At the end of that season, Shannen called me, in the middle of hiatus and was like "yep, I just got the phone call". But, it was the phone call she was waiting for, back in December, so it's kind of like "really"..."now"? I guess it was more financially feasible for them to let her go at the end of the season, then it was at the middle of the season. Like, it was very calculated and not handled well, whatsoever. 59m00s - 59m34sHolly: At the time, I took it very personally. I was really pissed I wasn't involved in this decision making process because the show I signed onto to do was with Shannen. So, I went into the office and said "this is not the show I signed up to do, anymore. So, I should be able to go, too." Right? I should be able to be "let go", too! And they said in no uncertain terms that if I was to try to leave, I would be sued. Interviewer: Because you were under contract. Holly: Mhmm. 1hr03m19s - 1hr03m47sInterviewer: She's (regarding Rose) coming into a family that's already, you know, an existed family, with its own problems, as every family has, its ups and downs, was that an easy adjustment, do you think, for you? Or, was that hard? Holly: Oh no, it was super hard. With Shannen leaving, it was emotional... Interviewer: (interjects) 'Cause you were friends. Holly: ...for me and emotional for her just because of the unexpected way it was done. She directed her last episode. Interviewer: I did not know that! Holly: She, literally, directed her own death. 1hr03m53s - 1hr04m06sHolly: So, to carry on from that was really difficult, for me. That's when, later on, I struck a deal with Spelling to become a producer because that's not gonna happen, to me, again. Or worse, thinking that if not friends on Social Media, they "hate each other", NO! This same Podcast was done during the time they weren't Social Media pals, yet Holly PRIVATELY wished Shannen the best about her cancer, as it should be. Not EVERYTHING needs to be shared, publicly, over Social Media.

Put plainly, she just doesn't seem very nice. There was a New Zealand Armageddon Comic Con where Holly Marie Combs and Brian Krause (may) have attended in Auckland. Me and my sister were excited when this was announced But since listening to the HOH podcast its made me like her less. And to have to pay for Autographs etc. - I wouldn't even bother. She's so snarky. Makes me think that HMC added a dynamic to the SD vs AM fall out. I think Aaron and E. Duke were right when they said HMC didn't have enough 'star power' compared to Shannen. Shannen was at least a professional I guess. and HMC was just her snacky sidekick? Too harsh? Alyssa Milano and Rose McGowan have had more impact post the shows cancellation anyway. Julian McMahon and Kaley Cucco have done fantastically. Greg Vaughn and Finola Hughes are Hollywood listers.

I'm shocked people can afford to pay for them and especially pay for the VIP upgrades. It must cost close to at least one thousand dollars (if you are getting photos and autographs from at least 3-4 people). I've never gone to any Charmed cons. But if it makes people happy, go for it.

I haven't either. I can't afford it. They're so pricey.

Same with a music concert. I rarely go to them. The last one I went to was in 2015, and it cost practically $400 per person, and I paid for BOTH my husband and myself but still. Never again. I love Charmed but not that much.

Agreed.

I love Charmed but not that much. Times have changed. If my grandmother was still alive she'd say were nuts to pay that much for concert tickets. In her day she'd say I went to see Elvis in the 70s and it was $12.50 each. She'd faint if she saw how much money was spent on concerts, conventions etc. these days. But yeah, tickets for music concerts and fan conventions continue to go higher in price every few years. I haven't been to a music concert in so long. But I have a family to worry about now, so those days have passed. I don't think I could afford to go to a Charmed convention, like you, I love Charmed but not that much.

So I am guessing they will have a Season 2 recap episode with fans.
And then they will start Season 3 in the New Year?

Holly just said at a convention that they are restarting the rewatch again with a different sponsor/company?
So we'll be doing Season 1 and 2 again...

Well, since S1-S2 seems to be this board's favorite section of the show, I don't see that as a bad thing. That being said, hopefully this different sponsor/company will have more of a professional crew to keep the cast focus and on topic and better communication with the fandom.

With a bigger budget and production crew maybe they'll take it seriously and it'll be more structured in the format with more guests.

I'm kind of feeling bad for people who pay for subscribe. Because they again need to pay for same content. For me, this "reboot" big fat no. Another year (s1 start in september 2022) with their non-stop whining about life, pets, etc and with zero new info about charmed. I'm totally not interesting in this.

If they're getting paid, they'll deliver. It won't be a good look to half ass it with more money and a company behind them. LOL
I really hope they'll make an effort to have less guest stars and more people who worked behind the scenes on. Hopefully Holly will stop trashing the production team enough to allow the writers to share interesting stories on why they wrote episodes and plotlines the way they did.
I'll be honest I find the interviews I did listen too in S1 with the guest stars kinda boring. It's the writers and directors who have more say into the characters and writing that I find more interesting to hear about. I don't care enough about hearing all the drama with the cast or how much Holly disliked the writing and such.

Many writers had a terrible toxic time under Kern. Here's hoping. I'd love to hear from Connie, Sheryl or Chris on the podcast. Maybe with more money behind it now, they will be able to get them on. Like are they really going to get the guest stars back AGAIN to re-do those interviews a second time. Better off getting different guests or production people we didn't hear during S1 and S2.
