I wonder if it would've been better if Holly and Alyssa did the podcast together than having Holly with Drew and Brian. Given they were in every episode. It might’ve been more controlled. I feel they'd have a better rapor. I know Alyssa has her own podcast. Never listened since it's political. But I'm sure she's more professional on that one and might take it seriously with staying on track with a Charmed one.
LOL but then again who knows, maybe it wouldn't make a difference.
My hot take: I wonder if it would be better if it was Drew and a co-host who talks about the episode and gushes over it, good and bad. And has the cast and crew. Basically, like The West Wing Weekly. The little I've listened to...Drew seems to be the one who wants to do this and cares more about talking about it. Holly and Brian seem to be a tagalong to get people to listen because Drew (because of Chris) can be hit-or-miss to the fans. I was shocked when in one of the episodes Brian admitted to not even having re-watched whatever episode they were covering that week. Like, thats the entire point of the podcast. There is no excuse. He and Holly are just incredibly lazy. I used to love Holly but this is obviously just a quick cash grab for her. I've seen some of her recent convention appearances and, frankly, she looked disheveled. I don't know what happened to her. Like someone else said, it would take them years to cover the entire show. There's no way they're gonna make it through all of that.

I liked the recent one with Neil Roberts.
I also like how holly talks about how many hours they worked and that the working conditions were horrible. Makes me think how unsustainable it was to continue to have the same quality until the end plus the network vs the executives etc those scripts worked hard!
I also like how the guest starts talk about their interactions with the other stars
It’s not a great podcast but I learn things about the series
It’s the only thing keeping charmed alive at the moment

Listened to the one with Tyler who plays Melinda (while forwarding over anything that was filler). She revealed they invited her back multiple times but scheduling never worked out.
I wonder when they asked her back. I don't think it would've been any later than S2 or S3. S4 at the latest. To be personally honest I am glad that they never brought her back, especially with Kern in charge.

To be personally honest I am glad that they never brought her back, especially with Kern in charge. I never knew that. Looks like it never worked out because she was off doing new theatre roles all the time.
I am curious myself. It can't have been too late in the series, I just don't see any of the later seasons writers bothering or remembering Melinda enough to bring her back as far as S6-S8.
Chances are whatever plans they had for her wouldn't have been written as a script just a rough outline until they booked her for the episode. I do wonder if perhaps they might've tossed around the idea of Melinda showing up to wish the Charmed Ones a happy anniversary as witches not Grams. Who knows. Those are questions production people need to answer not any of the cast on this podcast.
Like you, I don't trust Kern with the writing of Melinda. Sheryl did a great job with her in TWIB, that I don't know if a follow-up would've been good.

Good point. It's possible for 2x01? That is a good tidbit to know. And ponder.

I really enjoyed the episode on "Feats of Clay". I think it was the best one so far and I liked how they ended it with fan questions.

This a fun new fact to learn. It's fun to imagine what episodes or when they could've invited Tyler back as Melinda. Like others above, it won't surprise me if her name was thrown around to return in 'Witch Trial'. I do see them inviting her back not too long after her first appearance, while she's still on their mind after such a successful appearance since she had great chemistry with the cast in 'The Witch is Back'.

Eva in 'All Halliwell Eve' reminds me SO much of Melinda Warren (especially because Sheryl J. Anderson wrote both episodes), I can't help wonder if they might have originally planned on her sending for the Charmed Ones, rather than her being the one who was born.
Along the same lines, I wonder if they originally considered Melinda as the high wiccan priestess rather than Grams.
What exactly would they have wanted her to do in 'Witch Trial'?

It wouldn't surprise me if that's what they planned. Or maybe they could've even have wanted Tyler to play Prudence Warren giving birth to her own daughter. Although its possible Melinda couldve played Charlotte and been the one giving birth to Prudence her only daughter.
It wouldn't surprise me if they considered her as the high wiccan priestess rather than Grams. Considering we never found out she was one as far as I know with the sisters learning it, they already knew.

Ah they are becoming more and more painful to listen too.
Just watched From Fear to Eternity.
Only interesting thing to come out of it is that Drew placed this in his top 3 episodes along with Dead Man Dating and I can't remember the other one (if anyone can) - I think probably Something Wicca This Way Comes?
They gave this episode an 8.

You can tell how much more invested and engaging other ones are compared to the Charmed one. It really feels like half the time they don't even want to be there.
I do agree with Drew in regards to these being the best ones so far in the podcast.
I haven't checked the last three out yet and behind. But have they brought up any interesting behind the scenes insights in these last episodes that we didn't already know, that's worth checking out for.
I will check out 'That 70s Episode' when they have Finola on as a guest. I wonder if they'll get Ted on for 'Deja Vu All Over Again'. I believe they are recording 'When Bad Warlocks Go Good' soon.

I managed to catch up on some of the episodes I had missed, The Witch is Back and Wicca Envy, and they were alright. I enjoyed Neil Roberts as a guest but I feel like the episodes in general are just so boring. Like, they are not doing any research, they are not really providing any interesting behind the scenes trivia or anything. Its really rather disappointing.
That 70s Episode is one of my all time favorite episodes so I do have high hopes for that one. I really hope they bring Finola AND Jennifer (grams) on!

So I listened to the 'Secrets and Guys' podcast. My God Holly is annoying. Does she even like the show or at least hates S1, all she does is bitch about it? It's not Alyssa or Brian's fault for this episode that's the writing if she hates it. I couldn't even finish the episode, it was that bad. It's beginning to sound like Holly really doesn't like S1 of Charmed. She doesn't like so many things about it the more I listen.
Drew is not doing a good job at keeping them on track. They spend way longer than needed complaining. You can tell Holly and Brian don't even want to be there. Lots of fans are getting turned off by this podcast from checking out reviews and comments.
I'm looking forward to Finola coming on for 'That 70s Episode'. Here's hoping a guest can allow a more positive experience.

I'm glad I haven't wasted any time on this podcast since checking out the very early ones. Sounds like it really is starting to get very boring for lots of fans.
I'm going to continue to keep up this way by just reading this thread if and when someone reviews or shares any interesting insights from it.

So what if Alyssa and Brian had a romance - is that a big deal as well? When I watch the podcast I can imagine Holly being part of the feud between Alyssa and Shannen, fueling it a little. She sounds bitter.

I'm SO tired of Drew constantly asking about who boned who. Wtf? Does he think these questions are fun or endearing? Its just annoying. They kept talking over each other and Holly was just annoying with the whole Alyssa thing.
I didn't learn anything I didn't already know from this episode. I thought the point of this podcast was that they'd share behind the scenes trivia, stuff like that.

The more I hear from others, the more I wish Drew was the host and Holly and Brian just guest starred here and there.

I stopped listening after the first five minutes. Honestly, it was too embarrassing to even listen to. I don't know why they are even bothering with these.
