I stopped listening after the first five minutes. Honestly, it was too embarrassing to even listen to. I don't know why they are even bothering with these. Same here. I don't know why they are bothering with it. The Charmed one is just so embarrassing. We're not really learning anything new about the show that we didn't already know. I really am so bored with it. Do they even take notice of all the negative feedback they get. I feel like they'll keep doing a bad job, if not enough fans be honest with what they can improve on. I've gotten into some other recap podcasts for other shows recently to find out if all recap podcasts out there are set up like Charmed. I'm more invested in them because they do what they are suppose to do...recap the darn episodes. The Smallville one in particular has caught my attention and I never miss an episode. You can tell they are much more invested and put in the effort to make a good product and talk about the episodes and have a decent way to set up each one. I'm much more entertained by it. Yes, they have issues with the episodes and admit they certain things could've been done better, but they don't spend the entire podcast ranting about crap that has nothing to do with the show. I hope 'That 70s Episode' with Finola will be a good podcast. That's a fan favourite episode. I don't know if I want to listen and have them waste my time to an episode I really do love.

I just watched the wooggy one and I’ve decided that That 70s episode is the last one I’m watching There’s no real point to these Completely agree. I'm so bored with them. I've gotten hooked on much better podcasts for other shows now that are so much better. When I got an alert for the woogy one, I didn't go running to listen. I listened to a few minutes last night and turned it off right away. So glad I decided to never become a Patron. I'd be wasting my money. I'm debating if I'll listen to That 70s episode myself. It's a very good episode, I'd hate to waste my time if they bore me to death. I might wait for others to listen first and give feedback before I listen to it.

I was so excited when they started the podcast because I thought they'd actually share some behind the scenes stuff and trivia that we didn't already know and now I couldn't be more disappointed.
But the whole thing feels like a big f you to all the fans listening. Like, they couldn't put LESS effort into it if they tried. Its a shame, really. Honestly I wouldn't blame Alyssa or Shannen if they never wanted to be a guests because the production value is so incredibly low, I feel like it would be beneath them.
Every episode is pretty much the same. Drew asking about who boned whom, Holly making fun of Brian and refusing to share any sort of tea and just in general being kind of unpleasant. Like Piper was my favorite sister but Holly does not seem like a nice person to be around.
Also, constantly calling Leo Dale is so f**k**g annoying. I get that its apparently some sort of inside joke but still, its annoying.

I *might* listen/watch '70s' since I LOVE Finola, but I'll wait and see what those of you who *are* listening/watching thinks of this. I keep thinking what S1 and S2 would've been like if Kern, Shannen, Holly and Alyssa were producers from Day 1. To have Prideful Prue, Poor, Poor Pitiful Piper and PhoeME from Day 1 makes me shudder. I doubt if I'd watch more than my first episode which means I never would've been part of the Cafe and meet all of you! Thank you to whomever kept this from happening!

I don't know why she wouldn't answer who it is. Likewhoever Spelling envisioned as Prue likely wouldn't care to have her name out. Like naming her will hurt this actress' career twenty years later. It'll just be a fun little trivia to the show and star. But most of the cast I find at times does that, being coy over subjects. What's up with this cast. Every so often there's always somebody not talking to somebody in the cast. Always bad blood between the cast. I remember Holly and Alyssa had a feud over something Alyssa said that upset Holly. Next apparently Shannen and Holly are not as close (or still do talk but not like how it used to be). Then we have Rose and Alyssa which really was the worst I've ever seen the cast feuding. It never stops. LOL I think Holly will start to spill more as they go on, especially once we get to S3/S4. That's what I'm hoping anyway. I wish they would add an aspect to the podcast where fans could submit questions. Didn't Spelling consider someone else for Prue because he originally wanted Prue to play Piper? I don't think Spelling originally wanted Holly as Prue because Shannen was the one who brought her in - but she might have been - which might be why she's playing coy. Funny. I always believed that Shannen was the first to be cast, but I found this and now I wonder: Source: www.usmagazine.com/entertainment/pictures/charmed-behind-the-scenes-drama-over-the-years-a-timeline/[ur]I always believed that Shannen was hired first...now I wonder.

Shannen was the first one cast, we know that. Her being the first on considered is different though.
But yeah....as a Charmed podcast....this basically sucks. As a actors who just happen to have worked on Charmed and are really good bffs who do a podcast together? Very fun. If those three are your faves.
I listen to it but im overly tired of the focus on Pipers/Leo storylines in an episode being the main focus when they happen to talk about the episode.

It seems that Holly doesn't like Piper, I think it's sad to play a part that you don't like. No wonder sweet Piper got so bitter. She disappoints me even more when she considers "The Wedding from Hell" the worst of the entire series and rated 0.5 "dream sorcerer". So for her season 8 is better? She really shouldn't have participated...
I understand why Shannen said "not enough passion for the work"

It seems that Holly doesn't like Piper, I think it's sad to play a part that you don't like. No wonder sweet Piper got so bitter. This is why I have a hard time liking Piper in the later seasons. I've only seen a few interviews of Holly, and though I haven't listened to the podcast at all, I think I get what everyone's talking about with how she's acting unpleasant. For me, I saw this bleed into the character of Piper. I know they were working with lines that were written for them, but they're actors. They can take things in many different directions. There were many times a line that Piper said was delivered in a harsh or abrupt way, and I can only see Holly there. It's too bad, because her portrayal of Piper in season 1 is so gentle and lovely to watch, and I wish she had let Piper grow while also keeping her soft traits.

There are plenty of actors who dont like watching themselves back and for this very reason: they critique everything. But with a podcast she has to look at it from a slightly different perspective at times which thus far she hasnt really done. If they somehow get to S5+ I am sure it will be critique hell.

Here's that entire article for those who haven't read it. At a different site, I *finally* found something I've been looking for for a long time--the entire TV Guide interview that came out between S3 and S4 re: Shannen leaving the show, the one that includes the quote that Charmed Faith has on his signature. Here it is: AS ALYSSA MILANO AND HOLLY MARIE COMBS FINALLY COME CLEAN ABOUT SHANNEN DOHERTY, THE QUESTION REMAINS: CAN A RECONJURED CHARMED STILL WORK MAGIC?
Shannen Doherty may be long gone, but she hasn't been exorcised.
It's mid July, two months after the 30-year-old actress abruptly announced her departure from WB's Charmed, yet a giant poster featuring her still hangs in executive producer Brad Kern's office. The wayward with stands front and center between her original costars on the sisters-in-sorcery hit, Holly Marie Combs and Lori Rom. Rom, now on Sci Fi Channel's The Chronicle, was cast as youngest sib Phoebe in the pilot before producer Aaron Spelling replaced her—poof!—with his Melrose Place tenant Alyssa Milano. It's a striking image, impossible to miss, and Milano takes note of it the moment she arrives.
"Maybe witch No. 5 will be our lucky charm," she jokes, referring to Rose McGowan, 25, Doherty's replacement of sorts, who joins the comely coven this fall (Thursdays, 9 P.M. ET) as spirited half sister Paige. Milano settles onto a black leather couch and tries to keep the mood as bright as the lemon-colored lace-up top she's paired with snug low-rise jeans.
"You know, I have a dentist appointment this afternoon," she says. "I really wouldn't mind missing it, so feel free to keep me here as long as you'd like." But one look at the way Milano, 28, is perched tensely on the edge of her seat, drinking coffee from a jumbo mug, and you'd think she'd rather have a root canal than enduring an interview.
And not without reason: When Doherty left her Charmed role as eldest sister Prue last spring after three seasons, it was amid rumors of a bitter rivalry with Milano, something Doherty has not denied. The tabloid magnet's hasty exit seemed like déjà vu—after all, it was the second time in a decade she had bid adieu to a Spelling show after reports of friction with costars. (The first was in 1994, when she left Beverly Hills, 90210.) Her departure has left the future success of Charmed—which returns with a two-hour premiere September 27—in question at a time when WB is counting on it to continue enchanting viewers now that crown jewel Buffy the Vampire Slayer has pulled up stakes and moved to rival UPN.
Charmed hardly seemed jinxed when it debuted in the fall of 1998. The publicity surrounding Doherty's reunion with former boss Spelling helped the supernatural soap conjure up the highest-rated series debut in WB's history, while its modern mix of glamour and girl power warded off Dawson's Creek and Buffy, making it the network's second most popular show (after 7th Heaven, also produced by Spelling).
By all accounts, things were down right sisterly off-screen as well. "This is the best job I've ever had because we bonded immediately," Milano gushed about her costars in a February 1999 interview. "We have so much in common." For one, all three had grown up bewitching audiences on TV: Doherty on the short-lived spin-off Little House: A New Beginning, then on 90210; Milano on the hit comedy Who's the Boss?; and Combs on David E. Kelly's quirky Picket Fences. When Milano married rocker Cinjun Tate in January 1999, Doherty and Combs even served as bridesmaids. (Milano and Tate have since split.)
"We were very close for the first couple of years," says Combs, 27, who plays middle sister Piper. "It's not like we just worked together and went home."
But trouble was undeniably brewing between Doherty and Milano by the time production started on the third season last summer. The fawning quotes to the press had stopped, as had the costars' time together away from the set. As Milano puts it, "I wasn't going to call [Shannen] on the weekend to go hang out."
Rumors quickly swirled that Doherty was resentful of Milano's growing popularity, which translated into several endorsement deals, including one with MCI. But those close to the situation claim it was more complicated than that. "There were no angels," Combs says. "We all had our bad days. We all [got] stressed out."
That's hardly surprising, says executive producer Kern. "People on a TV set work together 12 to 14 hours a day, five days a week. Rarely have I seen cast members stay or even become best friends."
Adding to the friction, says Combs, was the stars' growing frustration with the show's direction. "We were in rut, where we felt like we were doing the same episodes over and over again," she says.
Doherty, in particular, "wanted to make the show bigger and better and stretch her boundaries," says Combs, who has been friends with the actress for eight years, and still speaks frequently with her. "I'd see her in the morning and she'd be like, 'OK, how are we going to fix this scene?' She was really dedicated and she didn't have a lot of patience for anyone [she felt] wasn't."
Whatever broke the spell, "we definitely didn't get along," admits Milano. "Shannen and I are very different people, and I think it's almost like a roommate. If you spend that much time with someone and there are differences anyway, you're not always going to get along."
Both Milano and Combs deny tabloid reports that Doherty would only speak to them when the cameras were rolling. But Milano acknowledges that she and her former costar could get downright witchy: "There were times when I'd come in and say, 'Good morning, Shannen,' and she didn't say anything to me. And there were times when she'd come in and say, 'Good morning, Alyssa,' and I wouldn't say anything to her."
In an attempt to defuse the situation, Paramount, the studio that produces Charmed, eventually sent a mediator to the set, something Combs said made things worse. "First of all, it was none of his business," she says. "And we certainly didn't want him reporting our girlie problems back to Paramount."
"The problems we had weren't things some big company mediator could fix," Combs adds quietly. "They needed to be fixed between us [by] going into [each other's] trailers and saying, 'All right, I don't like it when you do this.' Or, 'I didn't like it when you said this.'"
That apparently never happened. Doherty has contended that Milano eventually got fed up and issued producers an ultimatum—either Doherty walked or she would—but Milano insists that it isn't true. "I never even thought about doing that," she says. "I couldn't sleep knowing I backed out of something I'd committed to."
Instead, according to several sources, it was Doherty who approached Paramount executives last December and asked to be released from her contract. "[She] was like, 'This is getting too problematic. Just let me go,'" says Combs. "She didn't want to be the bad ogress again. She wanted to exit gracefully."
But the studio wouldn't have it. Continues Combs: "They stamped their feet and said, 'No, you cannot leave. We will sue you,'" (Both Paramount and Spelling declined to comment.)
Doherty's eventual dismissal, then, came as a surprise. And the form Combs says it took—a phone call to Doherty's lawyer after the embattled actress had flown to Winnipeg, Canada, to start shooting Another Day, USA's upcoming Francis Ford Coppola TV-movie—still clearly angers her. "How do you go from directing the season finale to being [given] a pink slip over the phone, when [you're] in another country, at eight at night?" Combs says. "It was really a tacky way to go about it."
"I'm sure I'm going to get many phone calls about this," she adds, "but you know what? I don't care. [The producers] know I was not happy with how it was handled. You just don't do that to a person, [especially] a person who has basically created two hit shows for you."
While no one's officially saying why Doherty was ultimately cut loose, a series insider says, "It eventually became clear that [either Doherty or Milano] had to go." And Doherty may have been the safer choice, according to Stacey Lynn Koerner, an industry analyst with Initiative Media: "Alyssa is just as popular, if not more so, than Shannen. And when Shannen left 90210, the series did just fine."
Whether Charmed can still work its magic without Doherty remains to be seen. But WB and Kern are putting on a brave face. "If we'd lost two girls, then I'd be nrevous," he says. "But nobody would've been OK with making the change if they were [worried]. That's why I keep that poster [with the pilot's original threesome]. I believe the show has become bigger than any one of us."
Adds WB entertainment president Jordan Levin: "We've got two really great stars in Alyssa and Holly. Adding Rose to the cast brings a whole new dynamic that's edgy and compelling." McGowan pops up in the season premiere, which includes a funeral for Doherty's Prue, who was left for dead after battling a demon in last spring's finale. Another plot twist: Julian McMahon, who plays Milano's baddie boyfriend Cole, has recently begun dating Doherty. But he shrugs off any awkwardness with Milano: "To be honest, I'm usually pretty oblivious to that stuff."
Milano, too, claims she's put her issues with Doherty to rest. "I have a lot of respect for her," says Milano of her former costar, with whom she has not spoken since their last day on the set. "I think she's incredibly smart and talented, and I wish her happiness, love, success."
But closure hasn't come as easily to Combs. While she says she still has a good relationship with Milano, she felt "a definite sense of loss" when she returned to the set in July. "In a way," Combs says, "I have to treat this as a brand-new job, a totally different show I'm doing, because if I [don't], it's going to be a really hard year."

It's not a Holly, Drew and Brian podcast about their lives. It's about Charmed. That's why fans are listening.

How Holly views the show from the outside now that its over is not the same as not caring while she worked on it. She said herself that they always wanted the show to go darker in this very podcast. We know Holly cared enough that she threatened to quit the show after Shannen was fired.

Just started listening to 70s Episode podcast.
I smiled at Drew putting that 70s Episode in his top 3 after Dead Man Dating and one other. Holly mentioned 70s, The Witch Is Back and Dead Man Dating are in the top 4. Drew mentioned later Dead Man Dating, Something Wicca and 70s are the top 3 for him.
The episode really got to Drew. He cried twice during it, as I'm sure most of us fans have before.
Drew and Holly loved the opening with clips for the 70s.
Holly wants to get Sheryl on the podcast to ask her questions about the writing. I hope she manages to get that to happen. She thinks some lines were rewritten by a another possible male writer.
Drew got annoyed Holly and Brian spoil stuff for him.
Drew loves the Phoebe dynamic with Patty. And they loved that it expanded on the sisterhood. They loved the interactions they had with their younger selves. Holly felt the emotional moments and grounding of family made the show so special.
The only thing dislike Holly didn't like was the effect of The Halliwells going out the door by Grams. But it didn't bother Drew who enjoyed the scene as a viewer.
Holly loved Alyssa's performances with Phoebe's emotions with her story. She thinks it was very well done. Drew loved Alyssa's performance also. It was so good with her thinking about the loss of a parent.
I'm not used to Finola's british accent at all. I'm so used to her American accent as Patty.
Finola took one of the windows in the manor when the show ended and uses it in her house bathroom.
The casting for Finola was discussed. The producer from her previous show for Spelling asked her in to discuss the role. They explained the part to her and offered her the part. She didn't have to audition.
Finola mentioned her first day of shooting being nervous and Shannen made Finola feel comfortable on set. Holly mentioned that Shannen adores Finola.
Finola was told the part would lead to more episodes but her busy schedule always prevented her doing episodes over the years.
I think Holly said this was one of the better episodes of S1 but I couldn't understand her as she spoke too fast if that is what she said.
Finola liked the costumes and hair for her and Grams in the 70s.
Her first scene was coming down the manor stairs.
Finola and Holly loved the casting for the kids who played Little Prue and Piper. They were so cute on set.
Finola remembers the Diner scene. She loved the moment where she went outside and bumped into Phoebe. She loved that scene.
Finola loves the family aspect of Charmed.
Holly mentioned that Shannen recognised that Finola was being quiet on set and told the others to let her be to make her feel comfortable on set. Shannen and Alyssa looked at the producers and said they're putting her In a van because she's sick and to go home. Holly mentioned how at this time they were all supportive and looked after their cast and guests.
Finola appreciated that Shannen, Holly and Alyssa had compassion and empathy for the actors coming on set.

Thanks West for the lengthy recap of the podcast. I'm so happy to hear Drew loved this one that much that he admitted crying to it. I sure do cry during so many of the emotional moments myself. I loved this recap West thank you. I listened on Spotify at x1.5 and x1.8 Jenny from Forest Gump comparison to Patty was funny! Love Drew putting this into his top 4 with Dead Man Dating, SWTWComes and another one I can't remember. Playing it back at x1.8 is way more tolerable!

I do like hearing that Drew loved this episode that much and put it in his top 3.
I'm happy to see they all spoke fondly on this one. It is a fan favorite after all for so many fans.
I really hope they'll be able to get Sheryl on the podcast. It sounds like Holly wants to get her on. I hope she has luck doing that.

I'm not used to Finola's british accent at all. I'm so used to her American accent as Patty. I'm sorry, what now? Today I learned... Wow. Okay. I didn't know she's British.
