I Think The WB Should...
Hold a contest that would allow a fan of the show to write a Charmed episode.
If they do get renewed for a 9th season, they could start accepting submissions and narrow down the scripts based on originality and quality.
It would be clever, but would only work if they got renewed.

They should, but they wont. Simply because they are a franchise and could care less about us. No network has ever allowed this. No network has probably needed fans to keep it's show alive anyway, like Charmed is doing. Good idea though, but won't happen.

I know, but you never know I guess.
I just thought I'd throw it out there.
What does everybody else think about this idea?

I dont think they will ever let us write an episode. But I do think they should do an interactive one that allows us to decide the next part of the episode. (budget allowed of course - cheap skates!) ;D

Don't worry about writing an episode just post a fan pic and eventually they steal the idea maybe not you put it but later in some other way.

Ideas get stolen all the time; it's why series' writers can't look at any of the "Charmed" fan fiction. The potential for being sued for plagarism is VERY real!
Accepting fan storylines is illegal; there are unions in the industry, and the writers have a VERY powerful one, and if a fan script would be accepted, the union would go on strike, shutting down EVERY television show on the air.
If you want to write a "Charmed" episode, you have to join the Writers Guild, which runs into some big bucks, then submit your script to the story editor, through your agent (they won't accept unsolicited scripts).
Sorry to throw cold water on your idea...in a less regimented industry, I think it would be brilliant!

not really. We have a law student that is a moderator on my site. She said plagerism is extremely hard to prove. Anyone can take someone's written work, change a few things and legally submit it as their own.

I come up with an idea last spring about the minature dollhouse and thought that was where they were going with that particular plot but they didn't. But to my surprise i read the spoilers and the they are doing just that with different scenario. They may have or may not like I'm going to sue. Never! If I can give them ideas the better and honored if they do use them.

Lisa, changing a 'few things' won't work; the best case I can bring up is "Coming to America", which Eddie Murphy claimed he wrote; unfortunately, Art Buchwald wrote it FIRST, and submitted it to Murphy's agent. Murphy changed a few things, and declared the work as his own. Unfortunately, the courts disagreed, and Buchwald got a hefty check.
A series writer himself told this to me; he may not have been a law student, but he was quite firm that he was strictly prohibited from reading fan works, by both union rules, and the series he was staffing on, to prevent potential plagurism suits.
Plagurism may be difficult to 'prove', but all that is needed is a similar enough thread to create doubt, as Murphy, George Harrison, and others have discovered, to their sorrow.

On a more positive note, I am copying a post I've used recently, as this seems to be the most appropriate place for it.
I've enjoyed the show because it has a message, several actually, and Charmed is a bit like Star Trek and Star Trek NG, because of it's message. It's message is about using your energies to do good and protect those who can't protect themselves. It's also about stopping evil (or bad) things before they happen, if possible, but also simply not letting them continue unabated and unchallenged. I think there are more "life" lessons to be learned from Star Trek and, especially, Star Trek NG, but there are a number to learned from Charmed. The actors protray three daring, and strong women, who are not afraid to voice their opinions and make something right which was wrong (very Quantum Leap-like). They are not prisoners of a sexually rigid and suppressed society and they let us know it in how they live their lives. They have character and understand right from wrong. All this is the role model they represent and give to their audience, which is more than likely, more female than male. However, the male role models, like Leo, also send out the same message. The characters, Leo and Piper, are also parents and make it very clear that they are not just a witch or whitelighter (though Leo is not anymore), but they are also someone's husband or wife and a parent. This is a strong family message that what you do for "work" does not totally define you. You still will be part of a family and have responsibilities those family members as they have to you. Again, these are all strong messages, and good ones, to send to an audience, whatever the average age may be. OK, I'll climb down from my soap box now.

Whitelighter adam: Yes, no one is too happy with any of them right now. Though many feel it was Charmed's time, as the show just isn't what it was as it has undergone a lot of changes over the years and the quality of the episodes has, on average degraded a bit. I think the cast is doing all they can, but any show is a team effort and it's a big team. However, whoever is not happy with the CW, they write and tell them (more eloquently than "you suck") how you feel and what you would rather have them do.

Regardless of this, Charmed is a succesful show. The media has said that if a show lasts 8 years or longer, it is successful, so at least we can say that.
I HATE THE CW AND I HATE WHOEVER DECIDED TO CANCEL IT THOUGH!
