Are you sure? I don't have those DVDs, but I could've SWORN I noticed the "Producer: Alyssa Milano" and "Producer: Holly Marie Combs" the same time they changed the credits. Positive. Once they were asked if Rose would be made a Producer as well. I believe it was Holly that commented that she would have to be on the show for 4 full years, just like Alyssa and herself had been, before Rose would be offered the opportunity. Rose was offered it at the end of season 7 for season 8, but turned it down.

Alyssa's attempt at acting with grief was the most pathetic attempt at moarning I've ever seen. It wasn't even halfway believable. Especially when she "breaks down" in Charmed Again over the shirt she borrowed from Prue that Prue thought Piper did. She wasn't even actually crying. And I've always agreed that Phoebe was the one to be blamed for Prue's death..or at least played the largest indirect hand in it. Well put Esmeralda. Yeah I agree Piper's Grieving was phenomenal acting by Holly Marie Combs but when it came to Phoebe even her crying clip in the Funeral montage was very unbelievable. I did not feel her pain at all the way I so strongly felt Piper's. Holly Marie Combs in my opinion was the best crier of all the sisters, Shannon coming in second. I could always feel with her in all of her crying scenes. In Dead Man Dating at the end with Mark's funeral I even cried with her. But possibly her best emotional scene's in the entire series were Charmed Again and Hell Hath No Fury. She almost always had me crying with her. Alyssa on the other hand is a very talented actress but crying is just not her thing with the one exception being the end of Long Live the Queen after they vanquished Cole. That was a very good crying scene for her I think, my throat actually stung then. But for Prue's death I just did not feel her like I did Holly.

I don't think that it was a matter of Holly Marie Combs being "the best crier". I think that it was a matter of Alyssa Milano's feelings for Shannen Doherty getting in the way of her acting, at the time.
Even HMC had a tendency to "phone it in" at times, when it came to her acting.

There's no doubt that Alyssa was celebrating Shannen's being fired and now she had top billing *and* was a producer along with Holly. She had a *very* hard time playing Phoebe-grieving-Prue. No doubt she and Shannen made up later (I've heard their friends now), but there's no doubt that during Charmed Again she was happy that Shannen wasn't around. I think we're all in agreement that each of the cast, of the last five years, had different strengths and weaknesses in their acting. Since I'm a HMC fan, I also think she had the best and most consistent grasp on her role and despite AM's top billing, became the heart and sole of the show, though still well supported by both of her co-stars. One thing, which is why I'm quoting from this post, is that I don't think I've ever heard that SD and AM ever made nice. It's well known that HMC and SD are best buds and have been for a long time, since before Charmed, but after the rift at the end of S3 (with whatever happened between them off camera), the only things I've heard is that they don't speak to each other and, when on rare occasion they are at the same social event, they keep a discrete distance from each other, so they don't even have to acknowledge the presence of the other. I know it's been over 6 and half years since SD was sacked from the show, but I think if they had made up and were friends, there would have been a better chance of getting her back on to do a guest spot during the last couple of years. Has anyone heard different about the relationship between AM and SD being friendlier than it was 6 years ago??

Has anyone heard different about the relationship between AM and SD being friendlier than it was 6 years ago?? I have heard many things. One was that Alyssa threatened to walk if Shannon was not removed. I have also heard that they made up and she was fired for a contract issue. And I have also heard your version Spiritkas. So I have not idea what to believe more. but I think if they had made up and were friends, there would have been a better chance of getting her back on to do a guest spot during the last couple of years. This makes sense though, had they made up or at least came to an agreement about their differences than there should not have been a problem with getting her to guest star as a ghost or even returning to the cast as a whitelighter.

I am not sure what to believe either and frankly, I don't think we will ever know for sure. I even heard one story that SD was caught with drugs on the set. That was the most far-fetched theory I have heard. I don't believe it.

Although I think I am going to count this one out I refuse to believe such a claim it just doesn't sound right to me. I agree that I don't think we will ever know because I don't think the whole, true story has ever been publicized. Everything we read are mere ideas and rumors.

Untrue. Tabloid rumor. It is true she was fired. But the specifics are very much unknown when you look at the surrounding factors. I'm not gonna get into it very heavily in this thread since there is a specific thread designed especially for this topic here. Shannen received her pink slip while filming "Another Day" with Julian McMahon in another country. This was after the 3rd season wrapped. From my understanding, Shannen was going to, reluctantly, return in season 4. However, what baffles me is the fact that her last episode she directed it. It just seems to me that someone wouldn't go out of their way to direct the final episode they would be in. Shannen didn't owe them anything, so if it was 100% without a doubt she was leaving, I personally doubt she would have directed it. Actually, the state of Alyssa and Shannen's friendship, or lack there of, whatever it was, has nothing to do with why Shannen was not asked back. The problem was with Kern. Kern never once approached Shannen at all. Not even for the finale, which I know false rumors have been spread that she was asked and refused. NOT TRUE. She was NEVER asked. I know Shannen's still best friend with HMC, I believe also great friends with RM. Personally, a little problem with her and AM 5 years ago would not have been the deciding factor in any guest appearances she may have made. Brad Kern is the sole reason behind the fact that we never saw Prue/Shannen again after All Hell Breaks Loose. And really, REALLY not true.

Thanks for all that information The Original P3 I knew for sure that she was fired unexpectedly but the reasons were all over the place for me. I was not believing any one thing, I was keeping everything I heard in mind.

Also, even though Piper accuses Leo of failing to heal Prue, doesn't Leo respond by gently reminding Piper, "I can't heal the dead"...?

Hello one and all! :D
I have not had time to really search through all the threads out there yet, but can anyone tell me why the last efforts of Pru have been left out of the box set??
I noticed one person said that was it for the episode, nothing else, but I can assure you I have seen the version (broadcast in the UK and NZ) where Phoebe is in the underworld and has time reversed so many times to save both sister from dying, that in the end, she has to make the heartbreaking decision who to let go.
Other things happen in the interim which explain how they (Cole, Leo and Phoebe) are able to return to the manor..... then it goes on the the next series with the 2 part episode introducing Paige.
So why has this suddenly disappeared because I have friends who recall it to? It seems others have noticed scenes being cut to, did Shanon have a clause in her contract to stop certain things from being shown? After all she was directly involved with production towards the end of her stint.
Charmed ones unite! Are there any other episodes in the box sets (I have yet to view) that are missing? ???

But like I said she was angry and hurt and her mind was not working properly. AHHHH seriously! I want to see that, do you have a video clip of it, or is it on youtube or something?

Come again? Last efforts of Prue? Further explanation please.
Never happened. Least not how you're describing it. Time was reset ONCE. Never had to make a decision on which sister she had to lose. That sounds most familiar of Piper having to choose between Phoebe and Paige in Y Tu Mummy Tambien. Perhaps you're getting the 2 confused.
I'm afraid you and your friends are mistaken. No such thing exists in the media realm. Anything that happened between All Hell Breaks Loose and Charmed Again was pure speculation. Though if you read through the thread, you will see the very reasonable conclusion that most fans have come to regarding the time between those 2 eps. And no, Shannen has no such 'clause'.
Sidenote - Why is Shannen always being blamed for any mishaps with Charmed? But that's a whole other topic.
No.

So, I have never seen actual episode where Prue dies. In the end of season three, they leave it open, but at the start of the fourth season, they are having her funeral. Did they just not show that episode, or do we just assume that she died from Jax? and how did pheobe get out from the source?? Think Shannen Directed that Eppisode and made it quite clear from Prue going head first through the wall and bleeding from the back of head, ears, nose and mouth that Prue suffered severe head trauma and would be dead in about 30 seconds on the other hand Piper went bodt first through the wall and she might live 2 minutes from her injury. It will take Phoebe and Leo at least a minute to realize they were betrayed (maybe hearing Cole's warning or fighting of demons) and least a minute to orb back to the manner...do the math on if Prue would be Alive when they got back. In fact in "Hell hath no fury" Piper asks why he didn't heal Prue first and he said because he can't heal the Dead (meaning she was already dead when Phoebe and Leo made it back to the Manor)

Nope. Leo never said that Prue was already dead. I know that very well, because the conversation between Piper and Leo is the basis of my previous siggy when I wrote, "I miss you, Prue--you always were the best."--that the only reason why Piper is alive and Prue isn't is because Piper was his wife. Here's the conversation:
Obviously Leo could've saved both, but only saved one. Prue was the most hurt; he should've healed her first and then heal Piper. Had he done that, both sisters would've survived. But he saw his wife hurt, healed her, and by the time he turned to Prue, she was too far gone. And going into the "between time" and healing her and losing his wings must not have been important enough to him as it was when Piper died in "Awakened", so Prue is gone. That's what must've happened when we weren't watching.

Assumptions anyone?
Why do we keep making assumptions that we know what really happened between the time Shax left Prue and Piper for dead and the beginning of "Charmed Again"? How can anyone know the exact details? Kern and his writers left the whole matter vague.
We don't really know if Prue died because she was more seriously wounded. We don't know if Leo tried to heal them both at the same time. We don't know if Prue died, because Leo healed Piper first.
We simply don't know.

No. Like I explained before, Leo knew when he healed them the first time that they BOTH almost died. While Leo of course loves Piper, he would not have put her sisters lives in jeopardy for her benefit. We see that clearly in Murphy's Luck when he's just gotten confirmation from Piper that she truly loves him and wants to be with him as a mortal, but he askes for his wings back because he can't lose Prue to that darklighter. Leo loves all three (four) of the girls. He can obviously heal 2 people at the time time (as what he did the first time) so why wouldn't he have acted the exact same way knowing the extent of their injuries?
And as we saw in the first time, after he healed them it took them a couple seconds to come around. While healing BOTH Prue and Piper, Piper started to regain consciousness and Prue did not. Once Piper was in the clear he started to focus more on Prue which would be a reasonable assumption considering Piper would have assumed he healed her first since when she woke he would have been working on Prue.
And like I said, Piper rants and blames and looks for an outlet for her pain and anger. This scenario is no exception. They face evil everyday and always managed to survive before. Blaming evil for Prue's death was simply not enough so she turned her anger on Leo because she saw it as his responsibility to keep her and her sisters safe and alive. The healer. The angel. Prue was dead and he could not heal her...she blamed him.
Yes we do. Shannen had them specifically show Prue bleeding from the ears and back of her head to show the extent to how series her injuries were. At the time it was not 100% whether or not Shannen would be returning for season 4, but they set it up to where if Leo could heal them..cool. If not, then Prue would have been the one to have died since she was more seriously injured than Piper.
Also..again..Prue was thrown head first as well as being the first to go through the wall. Thereby when Piper went through whole body first, it was a much less severe impact and less severe injuries.
And again, why wouldn't he have when he is obviously capable of healing them both at the same time. Just like he did the first time it happened.
You're right. Since it wasn't shown on screen, we can't say without a doubt and 100% certainty. However, with everything that's been pointed out, it's the general and most logical conclusion to explain the missing events between when the doors slammed in AHBL to Piper trying to bring Prue back in Charmed Again.
