Leo was practically perfect in every way i would love to have someone like that. He was the perfect husband, the perfect father and the perfect brother in law. Leo has in my eyes grown in many ways, in the past before the 6th season he was a complete 100% angel there was nothing bad he could possibly do but since Chris sent him away. He grow more of a backbone and is now able to fight (very well indeed) and has grown an aggresive side to him which is nothing bad but worth having when it's needed.
I think he's amazing.

One thing I thought that was really well developed was Leo's relationship with Paige. I think they had some really great scenes together and it showed how Leo functioned in his role as a whitelighter to new witches. Paige always went to him for advice and he was a great buffer between Paige and Piper (along with Phoebe) until she was fully accepted by everyone as a Charmed One. I think that the wonderful development of Paige as an important member of the family really highlighted the nonsensical quick acceptance of Billie into the family. It just made no sense for everyone to be so trusting so soon. The more I watch and rewatch my DVD's the more I appreciate watching this relationship develop. It just seems sadder and sadder to me to watch how the characters were changed in Season 8.

Season 8 was a great old mess and destroyed a lot of what little continuity the show had left. The only thing that remained pretty much the same over the season was Piper and Leo's relationship and we only got to see them together for 11 episodes out of 22. Not enough.

I would have loved to see how Leo and Piper would have worked out Leo's adjusting to human life again. When I first watched the Season 8, I didn't like the conflcts Leo and Piper had, but it makes sense when I think how hard it must have been for Leo to finally accept that he had no powers. In Season 2, his wings were just clipped and I think he had an easier time adjusting because he knew at some time he would win his powers back. It would have been great to see Leo find a place in the outside world somehow. I always hated that stupid Magic School and I didn't want him to be stuck there for his career.

At least we got to see some of that during the tail end of season 7 with Scry hard. I really liked their interactions in that episode. She was trying to be understanding but at the same time it worried her that he was now vulnerable. We also saw how hard it was for him to adjust to not having powers, mostly because it meant he couldn't protect her and their children like he used to, which I thought was sweet. He wasn't so much worried about him being vulnerable but more about not being able to heal her and actively protect her. After the avatar power trip, I would imagine that was tough on him. Even if I didn't really like the idea of Magic school, I think it was a decent way of allowing all his knowledge of magic to be put to good use and it gave him a sense of purpose in the magical world again. Given that it's not exactly easy for him to get a normal job out in the world, I thought that was a good way to give him a sense of purpose.
This of course doesn't take away from how he also had a purpose as a husband and a father, but just like a lot of woman don't want to be just housewifes and want to do something outside of the house, I understood that though his role as a dad and husband was important to him, it's always good to have something else to keep you busy.

As I just spent my Labor Day weekend watching some of my favorite episodes ever (while grading a whole stack of essays), I wondered if anyone else noticed how my poor Leo and Piper were kind of desexed after they were married. Granted, they still had great romantic moments, but did anyone else notice that when they showed them anywhere near the bed (except for the great shower episode) they were always dresssed like an old married couple (like me). Leo was always in some kind of T-shirt and sweats (or boxers) and Piper mostly had man style pajamas or granny style nighties. Now we all know this couple had a great relationship, but I wonder why we never saw Piper in a knockout nightie. Maracev, you are a walking encyclopedia of pictures. Do you ever remember Piper or Leo dressed in anything remotely sexy in nightwear after they were married?

Nope, unfortunately you are right. After they got married I guess they got relegated to being the "cute" and stable couple while Phoebe and Paige got to wear or actually not wear the "sexy" nightgowns. We know for sure that they weren't celibate, considering the three pregnancies and other sexual innuendos between them (Freaky Phoebe, Malice in wonderland, Siren song, etc) but apparently, we didn't need to see those romantic moments between them, only Phoebe and Paige in bed with whomever they were dating at the time.

I always wondered if they kind of downplayed Leo's sexiness because he was the lone male in the house. Piper took over the mother role in my opinion and that's why they dressed her so conservatively. It kind of reminds me that you wouldn't want to see your mother and father in sexy nightwear. I would have loved to have had a., scene an episode in Season Eight where they did go away for the weekend and we saw them like the young and in love couple that they are.

They went away alone for the weekend ski trip in Holkus pocus but apparently, it wasn't necessary for us to see it. We know they went and that it was a romantic getaway because she was planning on "romancing her husband" and he was looking forward to the two of them being together alone.
I just think the show's producers (read Kern) were of the mentality that marriage and married people aren't sexy. It's like they decided that once Piper married Leo, she was off the sexy radar and he was no longer a regular man but a husband and father. They apparently forgot that mothers and wives are women first and that in order to have children, you gotta have sex

I totally agree with you Maracev that they turned Leo and Piper into the old married couple. They bought into that mentalily that somehow a young mother cannot be sexy. They should have let Leo and Piper remain a young couple in love. Sure, we saw glimpses of it, but mainly they served as Mom and Dad. Much of the feelings they had for each other were not shown on camera so Holly and Brian had to rely on their acting skills to show their relationship. A good example of this is through Season 7 where they reconcile, but we don't see much of it. It is all done in short glimpses. One of my favorites is when Piper and Leo are sitting alone right before Drake sings in Show Ghouls and Piper says "the best moments sort of sneak up on you." Just the way she said them and Leo's reaction made you see the love was still there. Even when Leo came home from Magic School during the day to help Piper out all they showed was him teasing Piper that they could find something to do for an hour. In the good old days we would have seen him carrying Piper upstairs and then they would have gone back to solving the problem. I didn't really count the weekend away because we didn't get to see anything. I would have loved to have had just a little peek at that weekend. I just thought that these two characters (actors) were so well acted that it was a shame to waste them.

They did share a lot of sweet moments and there was never a doubt in my mind that they were in love. I guess it's a testament to Holly and Brian that without as many chances to show onscreen their chemistry, it was still very obvious that these two were still very much into each other. Season 7 is a perfect example as you pointed out. During the first half of the season, it was so incredibly obvious that they were very much in love but it didn't show mainly through physical contact but through their actions, words and looks, just the way they were around each other.
Show ghouls shows that beautifically with that last scene between them at P3. They just enjoy each other so much.

Here's a new thought that occured to me to discuss, but I don't know if it was discussed before. Was Leo's sexuality downplayed because he could have been a sort of Peeping Tom character otherwise. I was rewatching my precious early season DVD's and it seemed as if they (the writers) allowed Leo to be a sexy male in the beginning. Does anyone else think that once he became a part of the girl's lives that the show worried about him being too sexy and having the ability to watch over the girls? We know he always watched over them from afar, but after he and Piper got together they were on much more of a personal level. I thought he was downright hot at the beginning and they always talked about his attractiveness. This diminshed and he turned into a more paternal or big brother character. Anyone else have an opinion or am I way off the mark?

Wow, this thread seemed to have died a slow death. Commenting on the very last post before this one, I think Leo was always supposed to be more of a sweet guy than a sexy man, sort of like Piper...sweet, not necessarily scorchingly hot (however, sweetness can definitely lead to hotness). He definitely became more of a goof ball after he and Piper decided to get married. I guess that was the happy Leo we weren't shown before when they were in their angsty early years. Here is something sort of cute that I'd like to share. Other than how adorable this picture is, take a look at Wyatt's shoes (not to mention his plaid shirt). You can see them better in this picture. Do they look like daddy's shoes in these two pictures? He was definitely a mini Leo. Who looked better in plaid? Wyatt or Leo?

Trying to start a conversation here, which Leo-centered episode is your favorite and why? On the other hand, which one is your least favorite and why? I love There's something about Leo and Charmageddon. They were fast paced, Leo was at the center of the storyline, an interesting one focusing on the possibility of making a better world but at what cost, etc. The acting wat top notch from everyone involved and we got some really good dramatic moments from Holly!! Plus, Leo and Piper were coming together again after all that time. I also love Vaya con Leos, though it's more of a Piper-centric episode. I really liked how she was willing to do just about anything to save him. It reminded me of how she tried everything in her power to save him way back in Love hurts. Also, Leo looked HAWT!*Special mention for The courtship of Wyatt's father, for obvious reasons. Which one is my least favorite? It's really though because I love me some Leo, but if I have to choose, in terms of storyline and given the presence of Cole and his machinations, I'd have to say Saving Private Leo. The Leo part of the story, I loved; specially Piper being completely supportive of him. It's the other stuff that drags the episode down a bit. How about you guys? Any thoughts?

Vaya Con Leos is probably my favorite just because there was so much raw emotion in that episode.
My least favorite is probably Someone to Witch Over me just because it's when Leo became an avatar and began his whole lying about who he is stint.
