I love them all 4 sure. They each have their own specialness about them. BUT IF I HAD TO PICK JUST 2 of my FAVS... I would have to say Piper & Pheobe... Because I see a lil bit of both within myself at times. Piper's down to earth, simplicity, motherly type and then Phoebe fun loving free spirit, wild side when needed!!! ;D BUT they are all Big Hearted, Successful, Independent characters that always went for what they wanted with moral conviction. That is why I really like them all to some extent and it's hard to choose!!

I would have to pick Prue and Paige. They were far from perfect, but I preferred them over Piper and Phoebe.

Piper and Phoebe Paige and Prue were okay but felt they shouldn't have killed prue off as she could have worked better in a different body, they could have used the witness protection type story line for her to change her appearance and thus letting Shannon go but keeping a vital character

I don't think i can pick one out in particular to be honest. I found something i could relate to with each of them but if i have to choose it was Pheobe who mostly caught my attention. I found her to be most relatable to as she was young, care free and made a fair share of mistakes but managed to pick herself up again and turn her life around. Went through some messy breakups (i.e. Cole) which is something i can definetely relate to.
Piper must be my next one, i find her so amusing and she's an amazing mum and wife. Something which i think most women aspire to be.

I would select Prue and Piper as I would like to be a blend of the two sisters. This is not just because of their powers but for their personalities.

I like all 4 of them. But my personal 2 favorite characters are Piper and Phoebe. First of all, because they play in all the seasons. Piper: I think I like her the most: she is very sweet, caring and I love it when she's sarcastic. She makes me laugh but can also make me cry, she experienced a lot of sad things in her life. I feel a lot of sympathy for her, I think Holly is a great actress. Phoebe: She is very funny, she makes often funny faces She has a sweet personality and always sees the good things in people. She is impulsive and full of energy, that's what I like about her.

Piper and Phoebe The characters are developed in a more intelligent and coerent way.

I have to disagree. I believe both Piper and Phoebe hit their peak in development in most areas sometime around the halfway point of the series, maybe a bit before. Paige was well developed in season four, and then regressed for the most part. Out of all of them, I thought Prue was the most developed. She was more mature by the time of her death than any of the others combined at most points in the show.

I completely agree with Dylan. For me just about everything seemed to unravel without Prue. Of course there were times when she faltered but that's everybody at one time or another. Regardless, to me she was the rock that both Piper and Phoebe needed for them to be strong. Just my opinion.
Remaining on target....Prue, and now that I have had time to look closer...early Paige.

Everything did unravel after Prue. They held it together for a good year, but after that, it was gone. That was when it stopped feeling like Charmed.
And you're right that there were times when Prue messed up, but those times just seemed to make her character better because of how she handled things.
And Piper and Phoebe absolutely needed her. Piper always said this, and it was true. Phoebe may not have thought she needed Prue, as it was understandably irritating to need the very person you spend so much time fighting with and trying to become independent of, but she did. As much of a mother as Prue may have been to Phoebe at times, Phoebe had some very good moments and some very good direction when Prue was there. I would have liked to see Phoebe mature with Prue still with her, being a friend to her.
If I have to look at the entire series, I would have to say Prue and Paige are my favorites, but only because the characters of Piper and Phoebe were ruined from the amazing characters they were for the first half of the show. For Prue, just look at how she was in the first episode compared to her last. By the end she was more open, adventurous, had more of a sense of humor, and had so much experience behind her which taught her more about who she was.
And for Paige, I too will say early Paige, preferably season four and maybe early five. Sometimes it seems like they switched Phoebe and Paige's characterization. Phoebe started off the silly one, and that role was eventually designated to Paige. Paige started off the serious one, and Phoebe in turn became more of that. Paige being silly did not work in my opinion. In every movie I've seen her in, to me she is better as the darker character, the one who uses sarcastic humor and who is the one to give something a more serious focus. The writers really got that early on, and then seemed to forget it.
I do feel bad about not choosing Piper and Phoebe though. I believe that if they hadn't lost Prue, their characters would be as I would have liked to see them. For the most part their characters really are great. All four of them are. The four women's characterizations that I enjoyed watching so much is the reason I got hooked on this show in the first place. The magic element had very little to do with it, though I like that as well.

Hello Dylan, I really enjoyed your reply.
I think your assessment of Phoebe's feelings toward Prue are very insightful. TV characters acting and responding like people in the real word. Your remark hit home with me. Older sister trying to help, younger one still needing her but wanting to fly solo...at any cost.
I also feel as you do about both Piper and Phoebe. I enjoyed Phoebe in the beginning, even if she did annoy me at times. In fact, I often felt that the writers planned it that way. You know, the cute and silly kid sister that you love, but need to smack every now and then? As for Piper, I truly admired her in the beginning. I thought she was smart and sassy, and I love sarcasm when properly placed, but with Prue gone she started to remind me of a soap opera queen. Her powers may have been growing, but she wasn't. It was as if she was dressing in clothing either too large or too small...nothing fit!!
That statement really made me think. It's interesting that the one truly strong sister, who was as you pointed out, really growing as a person and a witch, is the one that was taken away from us. And without her the center did not hold, yet we still ended up with 5 more seasons. How scary is that??
How completely true. A point many of us have bandied about in other threads. Paige as the baby? Don't think so. Yet, as you pointed out...she didn't arrive that way. I hadn't really examined that before. She came to the manor fully grown and self-supporting. Educated, strong, knowledgeable and with good direction on the goals she set for herself. So in short...she became a witch...and lost her way. How very disappointing.
I also feel a loss at no longer being able to select Piper as one of my two favorites...Prue will always stand head and shoulders above the rest....but for the second...Paige, who after learning how to be a good witch leaves a message on the land-line answering machine....."Hi my sisters, it's been fun, but you know what they say about too much of a good thing. I have orbed myself to parts unknown, so good luck with the monster in the basement and there are 6 dogs in the attic that need to be walked. Charmed....I'm not so sure.

I agree. Piper and Phoebe's characters' had such good starts, and they stayed good for so long. Then in the later portions, things changed of course. For the first half, Phoebe felt like someone I could be friends with. By the end I just wouldn't want to. And Piper went from being funny and sweet to sarcastic and mean. I would be intimidated by her, I think.
And the power thing just goes to show how off the writers' focus was in the last seasons. If the numbers of viewers were going down, throw in an extra power. Never once think of using more magic like we saw in All Halliwell's Eve, or of showing the sisters laughing and talking together and being friends.
I think Prue will always be my favorite too. For all the reasons we said, and also because I really feel the vibes she gave off in the show as a big sister, and somehow that is reassuring. I would watch any episode of Charmed with Prue in it, ever. If I had known how the last half of the actual show would have turned out, I can't say the same for Piper and Phoebe. They just didn't have that same approach to life as her. I don't know; it's hard to explain.
And for Paige, your message from her would probably have been the best thing for her to have done. Post season four Paige was not the Paige we met. In season four she was balanced, and let neither magic nor work take over her life. That Paige was a good witch, because what kind of help can you be as a protector of the innocent if you don't live in their world?

Paige want to take control of magic and be the new Prue. At first she felt as if she didn't fit. She compared herself to Prue and even tried spells that Prue did and tried to learn them the way Prue did. I think she let it consume her life when Piper got pregnant. She felt like she had to quit her job in order to take over with Phoebe getting a demanding job. But, the girls became very overprotective of Piper... like, pregnant women go out and do things all of the time and unborn Wyatt wasn't anything like Phoebe's baby.... setting things on fire. I think the fall was when Piper got sick and so Paige wanted to stay around to make sure she actually rested...
My favorite was Paige. I started to watch the show when Paige came on it. I can't help but to think would I have felt differently if I saw all of the episodes with Prue in it first. But, I didn't. However, I don't feel like Paige's character was developed enough in the beginning. She went from being a stranger to a close sister very fast... that annoyed me. I also love Piper. I like seasons 1-2 Piper the best. I think while Phoebe went through much change- so did Piper. She went from being the middle sister to the oldest. A new Piper was born when Prue died. This new Piper represents a traumatic change in her life. Everyone deals with pain differently and some not at all. Piper completely changed into a new person. This new change wasn't her "growing" because she stopped growing. With her sister's death came more pain and a relationship built around pain. Piper was very depressed and at times her wardrobe notes that. While most of you don't like the change- neither do i, but I see where and why its there. That's my opinion.
