I agree that Piper did a lot in season 4 to actively ignore obvious signs that all was not right with Cole. I think it was a combination of babying Phoebe, the only person left that she grew up with, and wanting to maintain as normal of a life as possible. She really, really should have listened to Paige earlier than she did. The second set of sisters was unfairly balanced when it came to Paige. Piper and Phoebe hardly ever had conflict over anything, so even as much as Phoebe and Paige got along, with Piper and Phoebe's history, they're going to be closer. Especially considering that Piper didn't warm up to Paige very much, there's always going to be a disconnect there. It really would have been best balance-wise if Piper died. Phoebe and Paige would still be close, and maybe even more so than we saw originally because Phoebe had a warmer relationship with Piper than with Prue, and she may need a friend more if she lost Piper. Prue and Phoebe were close, but there was almost always a bit of tension present. That would prevent the two of them from siding even subconsciously against Paige. And I don't think Prue's insistence on saving innocents would let her not accept Paige. They may not be close for a while, but I think eventually they would be, especially if they teamed up on the whole Cole thing in late season 4. It has the most potential. If Piper was the heart of the family, killing her is way more bold, shocking and really tests the sisters. I do think that if it were Piper. Prue would believe Paige with her instincts of Cole, unlike Piper, or it would be Prue who would and they'd team up. One thing so bad when they killed Prue they forced them to put Piper into the older sister role and Phoebe the middle. Kern screwed that up. It doesn't matter, the birth order now. Piper is still the middle at heart and Phoebe the baby. With Prue, Phoebe and Paige. Prue still acts as the leader with Phoebe as the baby and Paige as the outsider and only child. So much conflict Prue and Phoebe had on the show concerned guys. Roger, Clay and Cole as examples. But re-watching S1 they seem super tight in the back half of S1. Just wonder how Prue would react if Phoebe told her Cole proposed and how she'd view human Cole. Piper didn't believe Paige's instincts of the house in Size Matters and in A Knight to Remember she and Phoebe treated Paige horribly. I can't see Prue acting that way with Paige. Interesting to think how she'd react to Chris and his lies and keeping secrets in early S6, if Piper wasn't around. Assuming in this scenario he was hers or Phoebe's. Given lots to think about in a Prue/Phoebe/Paige set-up. |

I still think Prue, Piper and Paige would work. Honestly losing either Piper or Phoebe would've been more beneficial. With losing Phoebe Paige wouldn't have lost her introduction season and wouldn't constantly get overshadowed by Phoebe/Cole subplots. We also wouldn't have gotten insufferable Phoebe we got. With Piper I feel it could've developed Leo, Paige and Phoebe could relate more due to Paige being the new youngest sister and Prue and Paige teaming up against Phoebe in the Cole source arc.

Honestly it really depends. From an overall sense I'd say Prue and Paige are without a doubt the best sisters on the show. Mainly because they are the ones who get the most done, have the most interesting characteristics and are the only sisters to not be completely warped with skewed priorities
Piper and Phoebe however are a whole other story. I liked both of them in Seasons 1-2 (Season 3 for Piper as well) but afterwards they became absolutely insufferable, constantly whining and obnoxiously self righteous. Piper in particular has this irritating sense of self entitlement and Phoebe has an obnoxious trait of being so self centered and riddled with skewed priorities.

But if you think of phoebe as a whole, phoebe did have her own issues prior to season 4. Seemed she didn’t take being at home without a job and not having a man in her life very well and it often came out negatively in front of her sisters. “The power of two” “Heartbreak city”. But not as bad as her self centered self in Seasons 5 onward.. I’m also for liking prue and Paige more. I just wish they advanced Paiges powers faster than they did. She should have been able to heal and hear the call of the elders by mid or end of season 5 instead of waiting till mid season 7. It felt that by the time she finally understood and embraced fully all she was the series was over. |

I also liked Prue and Paige overall despite their flaws as both sisters we're the only ones who cared about protecting innocents throughout their story arcs and less complained about wanting normal lives sorter more Prue than Paige I think.

From the original set just between S1 and S3 - Phoebe and Piper From the next set from S4 - S8 - Piper and Paige Doing it similar to that, I'd do it this way: FH=First Half; LH=Last Half FH S1 - Piper and Phoebs LH S1 - Can't decide; all three FH S2 - Can't decide; all three LH S2 - Prue and Phoebs FH S3 - Prue and Phoebs LH S3 - None FH S4 - Paige LH S4 - None FH S5 - Piper LH S5 (not counting 'Oh, My Goddess!') - Piper FH S6 - (Including 'Oh, My Goddess!')- None LH S6 - None FH S7 - None LH S7 - Phoebs in 'Show Ghouls' FH S8 - None LH S8 - Paige The ones where there's just one - I truly can't choose a second coz I dislike (or hate) the other two so much. Also true when there's none - that's when I dislike (or hate) all three so much, just because I loved the Halliwells so much between LH S2 and FH S3 and Paige so much in FH S4. |

Doing the Prue/ Piper/ Paige setup on my AU roleplay site and I'm so excited for it! My favourite sisters are always Paige and Piper (first and 2nd favourite sisters). They share a very interesting dynamic in the show as well, slowly evolved into equals rather than having one being more of an authority figure to the other (that's the sole reason I didn't like Prue very much cause she's always going to be the oldest, the authority figure in the family). We weren't shown Prue/ Piper/ Paige trio in the show, but it would be interesting be because Paige is going to challenge Prue's authority often. Growing up as an only child myself I wonder how does Paige even stand living with her sisters in the show and would assume if it's with Prue, she wouldn't even move in, at all. Though I can see them also being the pair who'd get most done protecting the innocents. TLDR, favourite sisters pair: Piper & Paige. But if it's segregated into Prue/ Paige era, then Prue's Era: Piper & Phoebe (I started disliking Phoebe from S3 onwards, after she met Cole and acting so selfish that she puts the whole Po3 at risk by lying to her sisters) Paige Era: Piper & Paige (I love how comedic the two of them are, and how Paige poke fun of Piper every now and then, there's also this protective big sisterly thing going on from Piper to Paige while she's also constantly being exasperated at Paige that's just cute and funny) |

Piper and Phoebe are my favorites. Piper being my most favorite. And then Phoebe, then Paige and finally Prue, which are all so close they are almost tied as far as I am concerned. They all brought something different to the table.

Phoebe and Prue! I always go back and forth between which of these two is my Ultimate Favourite™.
Phoebe was my original favourite from when I first watched the episode, and I don't like what happened to her character in the later seasons in terms of story and development, but I'm loyal!
Wish that we had Prue around for a little longer.

Pretty much no contest: 1. Piper 2. Paige 3. Prue 4. Phoebe However, just because Holly plays my favorite of the four, it doesn't necessarily mean that I think she's the best actress... All these years later, Phoebe is still the sister I like least. But Paige tops the list now and Prue probably places above Piper (though, it shifts depending on the day). |
