I just hope that this comic series make the sisters more... sisterly. Maybe less selfish and more selfless. Especially Phoebe.

Who technically were warlocks - evil witches are warlocks. Just for whatever reason, they liked only making male witches warlocks, but if males can be witches then females can be warlocks.

That would be perfect to me, too, as long as in using all of his powers to do that, Wyatt dies and also becomes a whitelighter - no more Twice Blessed Brat and no need for Chris to ever come back! No S6! Perfect!

That would've been even *less* confusing! But as soon as you had a male witch (the kid in S1), then you had to have female warlocks.

They did indeed do it for the first 3 seasons, there was Hannah Webster who was a warlock, and the one from "The Painted World". Lets not forget also when TCO's were warlocks.

I don't know if they ever came out and called any of those evil female witches "warlocks", the way you have to talk about male witches and not just witches.

It all comes back to them having needed a Show Bible SOOO badly and then stuck with it.

But doing the fairy tales definitely made it necessary to mention "wicked witches" who were actually warlocks.

I think I would rather them call females witches, and males warlocks, and since warlocks were "vanquishable" on the show, call them demons or something else.

But I think they were staying true to the Wiccan religion where everyone regardless of gender were called witches, and warlock was a pejorative term.

*shrug* Well, since "witch" originally meant "wise woman", it's the fairy tales that are right while modern Wicca that is wrong. Hence the reason for the term "male witch". Wicca truly needs a different word to describe a male witch, just like Charmed does, which is why I prefer the World of Harry Potter where females are witches and males are sorcerers. I like thinking of Wyatt and Chris as sorcerers a lot more than as male witches.

But since Charmed was supposedly based on Wicca (which I never believed, just like I never believed that Grams was a Wiccan High Priestess - she was turned into that just so she could perform the wedding), having witches as good and warlocks as evil would've made much more sense.

I have found it here on TFAW.com for pre-order. Not sure of anywhere else since this is the only US online comic store that I know of.

There's even 2 different covers for "Issue 0" and 3 for "Issue 1" to choose from and they're all cheap - $1.59 for Issue 0 and 2.80 for Issue 1! The one that interests me is "0" since it's the sourcebook, showing what happened before. It should let us know just how close to Charmed the comic books will be. Although I don't like ordering stuff online, for this I could be tempted.

I think enjoy the covers with the actresses more than the ones with artwork. I am not sure I really want the sourcebook, seeing as it is stuff we already know. I really just want to go ahead and jump into the story.

I wondered if the writer was a Charmed fan before-hand, or he watched Charmed AFTER he got the job. It will make a big difference if he was an original Charmed fan versues watching select episodes just for continuity purposes.

You peeked my curiosity about the books; which I will admit I have not read; so I checked out a few of the major stores and discovered that they do need to be ordered on-line...bummer! You might try a well stocked used book shop, that is going to be my avenue of approach when I get around to it.

(I stopped reading the books for awhile because I was too into fanfiction, which was so much better, but I saw this and it caught my interest. It wasn't good enough to keep my interest and keep me buying - I still liked fanfic and virtual series better)

Going through these, I'm much more excited about the comic books than I was. I also think it's no longer necessary to get the soucrebook - Paul Ruditis obviously does know Charmed. I think I'm actually going to get Episode 1!

ETA: I just remembered. There's a comic book store not far from here. I'm going to go see if they're going to carry the series - maybe put a bug in their ear... It would be nice to be able to look it over before I decide if I want to buy it.

Exactly correct. If they continued to bring back innocents and bad guys from the past (without actually using the actors' image), it could truly be fun.
