Charmed Comic Is Coming 2010

I was trying to see if I could find some more images or interviews to tease us. I didn't exactly, but I did find the comics wikia page:

I imagine it will get updated. There don't appear to be any new images, but there are copies of tweets from Alyssa and Rose and a quote of one from Holly.

Irony is that one of the covers that I thought looked the worst was directly based off a promo pic for Charmed Season Eight. Check this out:

Weird. When compared to that . . . it actually looks . . . well, not good, but a lot better than I thought. I guess I'm just not that interested in the way this particular artist draws.

I've got an agreement with a local comic store. It won't be deliver to me, but I won't have to worry about them running out, because they'll save them for me . . . and I pay when I get them. A friend at work recommended them. Don't know how well this will work until they actually arrive, but I'm excited.

I'm following both authors on twitter and it looks like they are polishing up issue three. I am really looking foward to seeing what they come up with. The closer it gets the more curious I get. I hope that it's great.

Just checked Charmed Wiki and found this alternate cover for issue #3:

Kind of different, dramatic, but I can't really ID Phoebe as Phoebe. Paige looks more like Rose (if that makes any sense) and I can maybe see Piper as Piper.

Yeah, I agree. For some reason, Phoebe is always the hardest to identify in certain drawings, paintings, etc... Even in one of her season 8 promos, she looks like a completely different person.

I really dont like that cover. Espically with them trying to blend in their hair as one. Also wish they would stop using the promo pics to base these off of so much.

That's it! That's what I mean about her looking more like Rose than Paige. It's the promo pic versus the actual character. They don't dress alike. They don't wear their hair alike. They may be the same person in that one acts the other, but they are very different. I wish they would look at screenshots to figure the girls out. The girls aren't all touched up and perfect. They are people. That isn't to say that the actresses are all touched up and perfect, but they are when they are in promo shots.

I was looking at a link I found that was discussing the comics. And there was this question:

Do you think its the same person?
So do you think the man in the new cover is Tyler Michaels?

Tyler in Charmed was portrayed by an actor named Alex Black.

Do you think his appearence today matches the one in the cover?

What do you think? Could this be Tyler? Apparently Paul Ruditis wrote a book centering around Tyler called "Brewing Storm", so clearly he has some interest in Tyler's story line.

That was my first thought. Looks a lot like an older Tyler and having seen Alex Black on something else recently, it comfirmed my speculations. It has to be, why create a new firestarter that looks like the spit of Tyler!

Sure looks that way. I hope that it doesn't mean Tyler is a bad guy, because I liked him and it would really bite if one of the girls' past innocents turned into a bad guy. Of course I really can't see Tyler fitting the description in the issue summary of the villain.

Someone...or something is hunting down the innocents that have been saved by the Charmed Ones and murdering them in cold blood. As Piper, Phoebe and Paige race to save the remaining innocents the forces of the underworld continue to gather the last remaining ingredients that will complete the ritual that will bring back the greatest foe the Charmed ones have ever faced. An enemy so powerful not even the Power of Three may be able to stop it from destroying us all.

Of course just because the guy on the cover looks evil doesn't mean he is the one mentioned in the summary, because it sure looks like Tyler and Tyler is not, by any stretch of the imagination, a former foe, and certainly not a powerful anything (at least when they knew him).

Read the 3-4page preview of the 1st issue (just the same scenes we saw in w/Piper in the kitchen but in color and dialouge) and while the art is ok, so far they havent really captured Piper. But they did give her a big head.

Well that is interesting. I'd agree that the dialogue there does not capture Piper.

Looking at it in color it looks like we had the boys mixed up, because now the shorter boy has darker brown hair and the taller has dirty blond. At least in the new pic it does. That's good to note.

Just four more weeks and those of us who want to get to see the source book. I'm looking foward to that. Too bad it wasn't at the beginning of the month. Then I could get it in time for my birthday.

I'm hoping that the dialogue over all is more in tune with the characters and I really want this to work. Until then, we wait.

Check out this charmed comics trivia:

Holly Marie Combs twitted that she sees a resemblace between the cover where the Charmed Ones are pictured in the woods naked with leaves covering them and the promo poster of her upcoming series "Pretty Little Liars".

Coincidentally(or not), her onscreen daughter in Pretty Little Liars does the same "hush" pose as Piper on the charmed comics cover.

Oh and these are the latest news David Seidman, the comics cover artist sent me on facebook:

After i asked him if he could give us a hint about Issue #4:
"Hey Kostas! The only thing I can say is that the Charmed Ones are facing off against something big and bad : )
But I can tell you that issue #0 went to print last week and it looks amazing!!"

Then i asked him about issue #0 and the glow in pipers hands in issue #1 and he answered:

"Issue #0 will contain about 26 pages that resemble the Book of Shadows containing a bit of the history of the show as well as some spells and character profiles.

As for issue #1... the glow in Piper's hands is a way to show her powers. Since the characters on the cover cannot move like they do on tv, it is important to have some visual to let the viewer know what is going on. Just having her stand there with no glow around her hands would look kinda weird : )"

I haven't been around for awhile, so here's my comments to various comments.


Your posts are absolutely fascinating, zomgas, as is your site, which I had fun browsing. Thanks for doing that.

For sure I'm going to get Issue #0, even if it doesn't include anything new. It should do a good job of letting us know what of the original series and what not of the original series will be counted as fanon for the comic series.

I guess what I liked the least about the colored pages is that Paige is back to being a red-head. I always loved her best when she was dark-haired like her sisters, like a Halliwell. Besides, I always swore the peroxide went straight to her brain, because the blonder she was, the ditzier she was!

And I agree that most of the covers look too much like the WB promo shots from Charmed, which I never cared for, mainly because they were pictures of Shannen, Holly, Alyssa and Rose, *NOT* Prue, Piper, Phoebe and Paige. Particularly when the actresses *won't* be acting out these adventures, I truly feel the covers should've shown the sisters, not the actresses.

I'm glad to know that the glow in Piper's hands shows her activating her powers as compared to her gaining a new one. Explosion and freezing make her powerful enough as is - too powerful as far as I'm concerned.

I hope Issue #0 will give us some idea of what has happened between Forever Charmed (which I still count as Piper's fantasy when she and her sisters *ALMOST* died after the explosion in "Kill Billie, Vol 2") and Issue #1, especially what each of the sisters and their husbands are now doing, how many kids have been born to each sister and what are their names and ages, especially as related to Wyatt and Chris.

•I wonder what you thought about Charmed episode "Pardon My Past", I wish they would've done another episode with the cousins.
•and didn't Holly, Shannen and Alyssa look wonderful in those '20s outfits?

Then Paul Ruditis replied by tweeting:

•So you're saying you like seeing The Charmed Ones in different costumes and we should do that as much as possible? Noted. ;p
Interesting Points:

1.He said "Noted" and maybe it is the first time Ruditis take an idea from a fan. So we may see some charmed comic issues that will feature Charmed in other decades like the "Pardon my past" episode or in costumes like the superheroes episode "Witches in Tights". Time will tell.

Although I love tales of the past, I hope the sisters in costume will NOT be used very often. Episodes like "Witches in Tight" and "Oh, My Goddess!" were among my least-favorite episodes because they made turning the sisters into sex symbols more important than plotline or the fact that they were three sisters who happened to be witches. But after that one cover when the sisters are naked, I have a hunch being sex symbols will be a HUGE part of the series. *sigh*
