season 8: I liked the first 3 episodes, possibly 4, and the last 2. Especially the last one. I didn't like Billie and Christy's storyline. It totally ruined it when Christy came into play. I coulda have dealt with it if it was just Billie.

Season 8 wasn't as good as Seasons 3, 4, 5, and 6.
It was better than Seasons 1, 2, and 7.

Why Show focused on Billie. Leo was only in half the episodes. The identies crap was...crap. Dex. Triad. No Darryl. Billie. They cut Leo's screen time. Billie. Not focused on the sisters. Should I go on? Although, I do think this was better than S7. |

IMOHO S8 wasn't as bad as S6 & 7. It was worse than 1-5.
Reasons? All the ones Assassin Witch pointed out, and:
--all the unnecessary guest stars, especially bringing in old characters played by someone else.
--how quickly they shoved Henry and Coop at Paige and Phoebe, just so they could be married at the end,
--how much they kept trying to do things similar to the previous seasons, but did it totally differently and totally unbelievable;
--the bad acting when obviously everyone was just trying to hurry up and get it done;
--the ripoff of "Sex in the City" with Alyssa doing a horrible job trying to sound like Sarah Jessica Parker
--the turning Paige into a whitelighter when she wasn't dead yet
--the horrible person Piper turned into, turning Leo into her own private errand boy and then actually being upset when he died
--the ripoff of Star Wars when they froze Leo,
--the wanting to know why they didn't take care of evil just because it was evil and use their powers the way they were supposed to be used
--the wondering why they assumed that Billie and Christy couldn't be saved and ended up murdering a fellow witch during Kill Billie Vol 2, but were rewarded not punished
--the fact that everyone, Piper included, knew that Paige and Phoebe wouldn't stay dead and the fact that Piper totally ignored Paige when she was time-travelling.
--the way Piper kept using magic for personal gain and never got punished;
--the fact that they hardly ever showed Baby Chris;
--Billie revealing magic in her Wonder Woman costume and not getting punished;
That's the start of a list...

They could've had it be more about the sisters being sisters and not three witches who happened to live in the same manor, and less about one witch who never wanted to be a witch and wanted a normal life but didn't mind using magic for personal gain when it helped her out and then went and married someone who was DEAD and was upset when he wasn't normal and wasn't happy until he became normal so she could turn him into her own personal errand boy and then got upset when he died when he wouldn't have died if he remained a whitelighter and oh didn't she have a couple sisters and didn't they have powers too? (Run-on sentence done on purpose coz I said it all in one breath while  ) |

I agree with Es. On her post about the problems about S8. You've covered the important parts.
I choose not to go into the whole Piper/Leo thing because I don't really agree with Es on that. Maybe because I love Piper and I don't really see her in that light. But, I do a bit. (Which is why Prue/Andy is my favorite now.)

You can admit that you wear rose-colored glasses when it comes to your favorite. A lot of people can't do that. But when you do (the way I feel about all of them), then you can start seeing them as real and not just as caricatures. And, of course, the main reason I feel the way I do is because I love Leo the Whitelighter and couldn't stand Leo the UnElderlike Elder, Leo the stupid Avatar or Leo the useless mortal and blame Piper for all of that, so I hated her for that. Someone who doesn't care for Leo the way I did wouldn't feel that way about Piper. I guess the Prue thing didn't bother me as much as it could've. I'd gotten used to them ignoring her by that point, and of course I knew Kern hadn't asked Shannen to come back. |

I'm with you, Es. WhitelighterLeo is my favorite and when he became an Elder..it didn't work. I swear, he was around more than when he was a whitelighter. How does that work? And don't even get me started on AvatarLeo. *gags* I don't like MortalLeo either. I mean, I love when his wings are clipped in S2, but S7&8, it didnt' work.

Quite frankly, I don't agree with either decision of the Elders to clip Leo's wings...whether it was in S2 or S7.
At the end of S5, they made it seem like Leo didn't have a choice other than to become an Elder.
But what would have happened if Leo had said to them, "No thanks, I think I'll pass on Elderdom...I'm happy remaining a whitelighter and staying with my family"?...would the Elders have accepted that, or would they have forced Leo up to the heavens to join their ranks?
I still believe Es is being unfair to Piper. She's stated that Season 2 was her favorite, so I guess I can see why she'd harbor a rose-colored perspective of rejecting actual character development for Piper throughout the series.
