Of course she was, Phoebe's character was all about love.. she wasn't made the Goddess of Love or Cupids lil helper for no reason, like Leo said himself she had faced the most darkest deepest love and still come back as strong as ever. This show has been a roller coaster for her because it has revolved around her love life and how at one moment she seems to gain it and the next she looses it just as fast. And the rollercoster was downhill after Season 3 and you nailed it on the head why. People have enough relationship Drama in their own life or can always turn to Jerry Springer, so why would they care about "tony's daughter" one taking place inbetween demon battles on a show that is supposed to be about "Sisters that happen to be witches" and not "the loves and life of Phoebe Halliwell"? don't get me wrong, I like Alyssa Milano, but the WB made the Charmed writters put to much empasises on her character in hopes that reconition of a actress from a long gone 80's show (where she was only a supporting actress and not one of the main characters that said a few lines then walked off stage mind you) might bring in viewers was really putting too many eggs into one basket (not to mention trying to make her as nakied as possible to attract the "embrace of the Vampire" and "poison Ivy 2" fans were useless cause even if the guys came to watch the "girly drama' would drive them back to the "GZirls Gone Wild" infomercials...lol)

Yes, the show is supposed to be be about these powerfull witches kicking demon behind, but if that was all it was about then the show would not be remotely as good as it has been. Being able to see the sisters going through normal, human expriences is worth watching and is certainly worth watching on a show like this than Jerry Springer.

I think it was about sisters who happen to be witches. Each one of the sisters had their own story or thing happening at one time or another. It would not have made sense not to focus on different aspects of their lives. I enjoyed the different stories and I like ALL TCO's.

I find it hard to believe that anyone can mention Jerry Springer and Phoebe/Charmed in any context. Okay: so maybe Jerry could have Paige and Phoebe, or Leo and Piper, discuss sister or marital relations. The title of the episode might have been "Sisters Who Butt In" or "Who Wears the Pants". But, seriously, Jerry Springer?

Who cares about ratings? I was a Star Trek in the 60s when this show got absolutely horrible ratings. Now, it's viewed as a classic. Go figure! Oh, that's right! Clueless industry warlocks care about ratings. And, it's even worse today. Today, Cheers would be cancelled after 4 episodes. That show took a long time to gain traction, as do many other shows.

I mean the show was about sisters who happened to be witches. They were also young women, young women date, get married and start families. They had lives outside of being TCO's . In my opinion it would not have made sense to not spend some time on those stories. It helped them grow and develop through the 8 years of the show. I think it makes a character more interesting and endearing.

Specially when they were women in their twenties moving on to their thirties. That's the decade when most of the dramatic changes in someone's life happen.

It got old fast when they basically just kept repeating the same freaking sequence with Phoebe. After the first time it became predictable, and pretty boring to many viewers when the plot didn't change. The Phoebe romance plots began to feel like nothing more than a distraction from the A-plots, and not a very welcome one at that...
Step 1.) Phoebe meets new guy (Often someone that an relationship would be innapropriate with), she embarasses herself or gets caught in an awkward position aka a "meet cute"
Step 2.) Phoebe denies to herself and everyone else that she likes the guy. This drags on for weeks and weeks while the two flirt back and forth neither admitting they like each other.
Step 3a.) The relationship starts, but Phoebe being a witch soon gets in the way. At the same time Phoebe is being pulled further away from her sisters.
Step 3b.) The relationship starts but the guy has to go away in a few days/weeks for some reason.
It also didn't help when people with no charisma were hired to play love interests. Jason Lewis made me want to shake Dex while screaming at him to learn to EMOTE!!! Nick Lachey made me want to just plain shake him...off a building.

I for one, do not share those opinions.

Yes, allowing Phoebe to become Phoeme was a dreadful mistake!

It's interesting that most of Alyssa Milano's leading men, following Julian McMahon's depature were not that interesting or didn't have chemistry with her. The only two exceptions seemed to be Billy Zane, who could produce chemistry with a broom if he wanted to and oddly enough, Eric Dane . . . even if I didn't like his character, very much.

Nick Lachey was pretty good, I thought. Dex, on the other hand, was a desperate attempt to imitate Sex and the City.

I hated Jason with a passion and I don't think they had much chemistry. It all seemed forced. I don't think she had great chemistry with McMahon either though.

I also love Julian as Cole, they had really great chemistry! Hot!! And Nick Lachey is always nice to look at!

Yes, but Leslie should have been outed as bi. That would have been an interesting twist and certainly would have explained why he never attempted to keep in contact with Phoebe after departing for LA.
Dex should have been buried under one of his statues during the Earthquake. Full stop. End of story!
P.S. Source Cole and Queen Phoebe: oh, how I wish that this had been allowed to develop longer. I could easily have seen a half a dozen episodes on this. The tensions between the sisters and the bonding between Piper and Paige would have been very exciting. Who knows: fewer fairies, more evil Phoebe!

I think it was long enough. I didn't want the show to become the Phoebe show more than it did.

In fact, I thought it ended badly with the sisters killing Cole without taking the trouble to find out what really happened to him. To me, that was the beginning of the end for the show, in terms of quality.
