I think that the it would have given charmed a different feel if loriwas pheobe however if it was the other way around and Ayssa was the one that left and they recruited Lori as the replacement I'm sure people would say the same thing as what your all saying about lori, I guess I'm saying that coz people reject the unfamiliar, we are confortable with what we're used too, if lori was pheobe I think we all would have thouht the same, just my opinion  |

piperhalliwell4eve: I just watched the unaired pilot on You Tube (actually got the link, not from your post, but via that long write up on Charmed on IMDB.com). Anyway, what struck me as odd was that after they filmed it, the cast had to reshoot it all over again. Perhaps they used some of the footage in which Lori was not present, which would work fine so long as the cast was made up in exactly the same way, which it seemed that they were. However, and I'm sure anyone who has seen has noticed, that many of the other cast members were changed and some were not there, like Darryl. Andy was obviously changed to Ted King, who is a better actor than the one who was there. Also, not sure if the Chef was the same as other credits are not listed much past the sisters and Trudeau on IMDB.
Two other things. They must have filmed extra footage for the first aired episode as there are scenes which are missing in the unaired pilot. Some scenes from the pharmacy, for example. Also, Dorian Gregory is listed as part of the cast, and although it could be an IMDB error, he was not in the pilot. One other thing is that the climax scene was changed. The snake, made of dust and sand, with Jeremy's face, was not in the first epidsode. It must have been cut from the pilot as too hokey looking. It brought to mind the water tentacle from the movie The Abyss.
Anyway, AM was a much better fit for the role. Her owning of the premonition gasp was a very nice touch of hers. Also, Lori Rom was just too tall to be the younger sister. I think AM's height, being very close to HMC and SD, also made for a better casting of the role.
Something else worth noting is that in the novelization, which almost entirely sticks to the first episode, there is also an additional scene in the attic, when Phoebe reads from the book and is visited by the ghost of Melinda Warren who tells her of their destiny. I don't know if that was ever shot or just something the writer added when novelizing the episode.

Have not watched it all there on Youtube, but atleast my post has the entire intro that also incloudes the murder of the blonde witch. Playtime is little over 32mins

August 14th update:
Have found a 607Mb MPG at eMule, with that size it must be SVCD. Currently downloading but with the slow speeds they have there, its propperly going to take a couple of days before i have it all down. Then we can see how good the quality is on that MPG.
If it is good, i will pack it with Winrar and upload the files at Sendspace.com and post the links here.

Okay.
I can get really confused with things but this has blown my mind.
In season one there was a bathroom downstairs but in season 5 it was now a coat room.
HOW DID THAT HAPPEN???
Also the upstairs.
Pagie's bedroom (Prues, Pipers) room (Piper changed rooms with Prue as Piper was now married to Leo)
in Season 4 when Paige has moved into the house and you see her walk pass a mirror but later on or early on (can't remember off hand) Phoebe comes out that bedroom (now i know what ya going to say she must of came out Paiges room but NO).
Phoebes room was her own room, it looks like Paiges has the mirror on the wall in the hall is in the same place and the room to that matter. has anyone else seen this its in season 4.
or i'm giving you all an headache. lol

I have seen it...on youtube and all I have to say about that is......naaaaaaaaa......no way! I can't picture Phoebe's character played by anyone else but Alyssa.

I just checked out how the unaired pilot's score is on tv.com and its actually not that bad a score, 8.66 out of 10

I saw the unaired pilot on utube and it just didnt feel right. There was no chemistry between the girls. Lori didnt bring life into Phoebe. Right after I watched the pilot with Lori I watched the pilot with Alyssa and compared the 2. Alyssa was a WAY better fit. She had that spunk the youngest sister needed.

I'm actually really glad that they didn't keep her as phoebe! Alyssa Milano is so much better, and so more talented! Charmed woulden't of been the same without her

I'm glad she didn't stay, I liked Alyssa Milano more for Phoebe than Lori. Maybe because I got used to Alyssa I guess, but I feel like Alyssa gave Phoebe more personality and made Pheobe be more attractive

4 actually, one of them passed away (Prue). In grand total there is Prue, Piper, Phoebe and Paige. Although the 3 others knows she is dead, they know that she is in the afterlife with their mother and grandmother. |
