I like Paige way better than Prue. I first started really watching the show when Paige was on there. She brings a funny aspect to the show, which it needed. It was too serious when Prue was on there. Sometimes she does jump the gun as a witch but she is a natural as a whitelighter. I disagree that Charmed "needed humor." From the very beginning, the show was a drama with a mix of comedy or campiness. That's what I loved about it when I first started watching the show back in 1998. I loved the sisterly relationship between Prue, Piper, and Phoebe. Prue was the perfect big sister. Piper was the perfect middle sister, and Phoebe was perfect as the baby sis. I loved how Phoebe was adorable, petite, innocent, and mischievous. Actually, Paige has always looked and acted older than Phoebe, in my opinion. Phoebe has this adorableness about her that just screams baby sister. As for the comedy element of Charmed from the earlier years, Prue had a dry sense of humor. Piper has a more sarcastic type of humor, and Phoebe has a more playful type of humor. The show had more variety when Prue was on the show. It was a drama mixed with suspense, adventure, and comedy. When Paige came on the show, it became more like a comedy, but with more silliness. However, the show already had plenty of comedy. Phoebe is the funniest sister, in my opinion. Personally, I never really thought of Paige as funny, just kinda awkward, unsure, and ditzy. I like Paige, but I love Prue, and the show was AWESOME when Prue (and the original Charmed Ones) was on it. It was the perfect combination of drama, adventure, suspense, and comedy. I guess I prefer the show more like "Buffy," as a drama with adventure, suspense, and some comedy. However, apparently others prefer the later years, which seemed more like a comedy or an overly lighhearted show, more like "Sabrina: The Teenaged Witch." |

I don't find Paige to be funnier than Prue. In season three, Prue was the most comedic of the three sisters whereas let's say... season one and two it would have been Piper (for her sarcasm) and Phoebe (for her childishness).

I recall in a rerun that Piper seemed very upset over Phoebe leaving the house. How did she feel when Paige finally left, following her marriage to Henry? I'm guessing not as strongly emotional as when Phoebe moved out. A little recall on the 2nd last episode Kill Billie: Vol. 2 Where was Paige after the manor had been blown up and why did she not scream Paige's name in an attempt to see if she was alive, after discovering that Phoebe was dead ? Nope, she sat there holding Phoebe's dead body in her arms in silence. That was one thing that made me mad in the show. I was like "How about Paige now?" In my opinion, it always seemed like Paige got the shaft out of the trio, even in the later seasons. |

No doubt about that one. She was always on the outside looking in. I think it's why she never legally changed her name to Paige Halliwell...she was always just a substitute for Prue in the Power of Three, never a true sister.

Have fans of the show ever concluded whether the date Paige gave as her birthday (8/2/77) was really her birthday or just when Patty and Sam took her to the church (thus Paige being born at least a day earlier)
Is there any solid proof one way or the other?

Maybe 8/2/77 is the date she was adopted and there by the day she became: Paige Matthews.
In a sence you could say, the day Paige Matthews was born.
Before that, she was just Paige, a little baby girl with no last name.

Well assuming that the nun gave Paiges parents all the information they needed, im assuming that would be Paiges actual birth date. Paige probably wasnt even old enough to remember the day she was adopted.

I ever liked Paige from the first moment I thought she would be perfect
And as good as Prue...
I think Paige is Witchlighter^^
Because she can be both nice, friendly, helpful as a Whitetlighter
and sometimes she is cool, distanced and wants to get the Demon what ever it costs!!!!
So I think she is a Witchlighter^^

She did that just fine as an assistant social worker and would've done more AS a full social worker. She was actually a better person BEFORE she met the Charmed Ones. I prefer her not becoming a whitelighter until she earns it--after she's dead--just like if the others earn it. Just being one because your dad happened to screw a witch takes away what becoming a whitelighter is supposed to be all about.

but when she went to the future she said, "i have to save phoebe and paige." plus, what about that time paige was killed and piper was death? or the time paige got stabbed by phoebe on accident? piper was really teared up and upset. i think she does care about paige, it's just that you have to realize that she still is getting used to a fourth sister, and she doesnt know paige as much as phoebe. I actually thought Piper was extremely cold to Paige when she was death and was taking Paige's soul. When it was Phoebe was gonna die, she was trying to save her, with Paige its almost like she was pushing her towards the other side. Phoebe was the one who was more upset about Paige dying, like always. She's a better sister to Paige than Piper. |
