1: Elders and "The Founders" alike? Leo states he was sent by the founders but these people are never mentioned again. Could they be named Elders in later episodes are are they different levels of the same group of beings?
2: "You were never supposed to find out" Leo says that witches are never supposed to know about their whitelighters but how do you heal a witch without giving it away?
3: Did the sisters have a whitelighter when they had their powers as youngsters (Before Nicholas) Getting a whitelighter when you get your power means from birth, eh?

Good old continuity rears it's ugly head again.

Ah, I was thinking of a whitelighter thread...you hit the mark, Elder. Though, from what I recall, Leo was supposed to have actually left in S1, but Holly fought for Brian/Leo to continue on. So I think they had to rework it later on.

it looks the actors had to fight for each other a lot.

I believe the WB didn't like him. But then again, who did the WB like?

My biggest issue I have with the season is the inaccurate statement about the Salem witches being burned. They were not;they were hanged. Witch burning was a European thing. Why on earth did no one involved with the show catch this error, that a little research would have set straight? Don't get me wrong, I dearly love Charmed, but that has always bothered me.

It seems that Charmed has forgotten how it all started. Because I don't think that the Founders are the same like the Elders, though they must be long there when they could fight the Titans what was later stated.
Oh great, now I've got a headache myself. ;D

The first season of a lot of shows has different things a lot of time since they arent settled into their mythology at the start. But The Founders were just another name for the Elders. And witches maybe werent suppose to know about their whitelighters by the time the halliwells got their powers because they didnt want whitelighters/witches to form any kind of bond with one another like with what happened in the past (they couldve explained it better but oh well)

The problem with that is that starting with Season 3 it seemed like *every* witch knew about her whitelighter because her whitelighter would heal her, something that obviously Leo would not have been allowed to do with the Charmed Ones had they not found out about him. But he was supposed to be their guide, not their magical doctor/taxi cab. Oh, did *that* change!
I've often wondered if it's just LEO who was told by the Elders that the Charmed Ones weren't supposed to find out about him due to the fact that he and Piper were lovers during their previous life and after what had happened to Patty and Sam, they didn't want history repeating itself.
As for Founders and Elders, Kern obviously forgot all about them, as it should've been the Founders who battled the Titans, not the Elders.
Although again - we just have Leo's word, and just what the Elders told him...

I could see Them telling Leo TCO can't know because if the past if that family. That would make sense.

Now wait a minute. The Charmed comics cleared this whole Founder/Elder thing up. They are one in the same. No difference, just a different name.

But the comics aren't strictly canon.
I think they simply messed up, pure and simple. I don't know why they would just forget they had referred to them as the Founders. The only reason I can think of for ignoring it, is that the network thought the name was a little too controversial and may offend Christians, so they carried on blissfully ignorant of the fact that in the last season, they were known as the Founders and not the Elders.

Or the writers just simply came up with a better name that they liked. The Elders sounds a hella lot better than The Founders.
Sure this show wasnt known for its great continuity but sometimes people make things a lot more complicated then they have to be.

I don't remember it being cleared up in the comics (unless you mean the original council of Elders being replaced by a new bunch, but that didn't happen till after the end of Season 8, so... ), but I think that they just changed the names to The Elders. I know that Leo says "My bosses bosses", but it could be that other Elders had more influence and power over the other ones, such as Gideon who was 'one of the most powerful Elders'.

Aha! You're right! I never noticed xD Shows how much I paid attention to Issue #0.
I prefer the idea that the Elders were just the Founders, as the comic suggests. It's widely accepted that that's the case anyway.

We could just call the Founders, the founding Elders, so they would be or were Elders, but they were the first ones.
Whatever that means.....

Maybe the Founders were responsible for producing metal castings and the founders found somebody finding their foundry.
