Charmed Without A Choice

Phoebe looked at her daughter. Leo was there watching his daughter and wondered what Leola just said. He started to see if he had heard something that fitted the description of Melinda and Jake.

"Hon, we need to know in order to protect them. After all they you were brought here for a reason." Phoebe said in a determined voice.

Meanwhile Chris was getting the potion ingredients, he got all the things that he needed to make the potion.

"Care to learn?" He asked. "It is really interesting." He said and looked at Jake.

Leola and Melinda looked at each other and opened their mouths but lowered their gazes.

"It's not that simple, usually I would be all for spilling everything but if I tell you why the demon is here...then it could completely change the future in worse ways that you could imagine, besides, all you guys need to know is that the demon is messing with the Halliwells, shouldn't that be enough motivation to vanquish?" she asked and Paige lowered her gaze before looking at Phoebe and Piper.

She did have a point but still, Paige knew that Halliwells hated being in the dark and it would probably come out everntually but still...what was the big secret.


"Sure, as long as I don't have to grind up any spiders or cackle like an old women then I'm game" stated Jake as he looked at the ingrediants curiously.

Chris looked at Jake amd started to show him the ingredients and what to mix and what not to mix.

"I am sorry if I am a bad teacher, my mom is way better." He said and showed Jake how to mix the ingredients for the potion they were making.

Piper looked at Melinda.

"Fine, I'll trust you but I'll find out eventually." She said.

"well, now that we have this settled I think that Piper has to rest." Leo said. "She is pregnant."

"Are you kidding me, Leo?" Piper said. "My son and my daughter are in danger, and I am going to rest?"

"Leo is right, it could be bad for the babies." Phoebe said.

"The babies are fine, you just saw both of them." Piper said. "I'll go and see how Chris and Jake are doing with the potion." She said and stood up.

Jake smiled slowly and looked at Chris. "Don't put yourself down so much, you're a great teacher, besides, you are so much like Piper you were bound to be good at teaching" he smiled as he began to pop the ingrediants in and to Jake's suprise, it did not blow up in his face. Score!


Leola watched Piper leave the room and looked at the others. "Well I think we have more to worry about then Melinda and Jake now" stated Leola and Prue frowned.


"How do you mean?"


"Well a witches powers always go wonky whe they are pregenant, remember Wyatt?" asked Melinda and Paige eyes widened. "I'll go with Piper, just in case" she stated and quickly headed after her older sister.

Piper got to the kitchen and smiled at the sight of Jake and Chris. She then saw Paige behind her.

"I am fine, Paige." She said and Chris looked up.

"Hey, mom." He said and looked at his aunt behind her. "Hey, aunt Paige. What's up?" He said and looked at the potion.

"Nothing, honey." Piper said. "Wow! It smells good in here!" She said and approached the refrigerator. "What there is no chocolate?"

"You want chocolate?" Chris asked and giggled, he had heard about how pregnant women sometimes had a sudden rush of eating something, but he never imagined his mom as one of those women.

"I think there is some choclate over-" started Jake as he pointed at the choclate in the cupboard, but before he could even finish his sentence, the choclate appeared in his hands in a swirl of blue orbs and for a while, Jake just stared at his now choclate filled hand.


"What is it?" asked Paige, noticing his reaction. Jake finally looked up and looked at Paige. "Paige, youa lso have this..orbing...command power...and your parents were a witch and a whitelighter right?" he asked and Paige paused and slowly nodded.


"Yeah...."


"So doesn't that mean my parents much have been as well?" asked Jake and Paige mentally winced, damn the kid was learning fast.

Piper looked at Jake and then at Paige. Great! JUst what she neeed, Jake finding out that she was her mother. Chris swallowed and suddenly Leo came in.

"Hey! Why is everybody so tense here?" He asked.

"Mom wants some chocolate, dad!" Chris said quickly.

"Well, Jake has some." Leo said pointing at Jake's hand.

"Yeah, but that's his. He loves chocolate." Chris said, not knowing if it was completely true.

"Well, then I'll orb to the store." Leo said and orbed out. Chris tried to get his father out of there because his excuses were really bad, Leo could not lie, but now everything just got more complicated.

Jake blinked in totaly confusion at the scenario, since when did Chris know about Jake liking choclate, then again, what teenager did not like choclate. Watching Leo orb away only confused Jake more as he looked between Jake, Piper and Paige.

"Okay, what the heck was that about?" asked Jake as he eyed them all suspisously.


Upstairs Leola and Melinda where still with Phoebe and Prue. "You sure you can't tell us anything at all?" asked Prue as she flipped through the Book of Shadows.


"I would if I could but if I do then the future could be permanently screwed" sighed Melinda and she placed her hand on the Book of Shadows but was suddenly drawn into a premonition and saw a demon, a different one appearing behind Jake with an energy ball.


"Downstairs, demon attack!" yelled Melinda as she ran downstairs and Leola followed quickly, it may have been a demon but it could have been hired by the one Piper saw. Dashing into the kitchen, Melinda yelled out. "Incoming demon!"


But the demon shimmered in a second later and Jake spun around only in time to see an energy ball being thrown his way, his eyes widened and he held his hands up and suddenly the energy ball froze. Eyes wide, Jake stumbled out of the way of the energy ball, the demon and energy ball frozen, looks like Jake took after Piper.

Chris threw the fireball back towards the demon, that exploded.

"Are you alright?" He asked Jake. "Is everyone alright?"

"I am fine, I just want chocolate." Piper said. Leo orbed back in with 3 types of chocolate.

"There you go, honey." He said and handed them to Piper, he then noticed everyone else. "What happened?" He ask.

"Demon attack." Chris said. "A demon was after Jake, thank God Melinda saw the demon attack." Chris said and smiled at his sister.

Paige just stared at Piper, who seemed more interested in the choclate then the demon, my god, did pregnancy do that to you as well?

"Well I may have seen this one, but it wasn't the same demon so it probably was a henchman, Piper, are you sure you can't think of who the demon was who you saw? Anything at all?" asked Melinda.


Prue was already behind Jake, rubbing his back comfortably who was still shocked by the whole thing and slightly pale, that energy ball had been no more then two inches from his face...

PIper looked at Melinda.

"No, it was not the demon I saw. The demon I saw didn't look like a demon, he looked more like a human." She said and put the chocolate away.

"But you only saw his back!" Phoebe said.

"But it was not a demon's back, it was different!" Piper said, she had no idea but she had seen that demon before. "Prue, what about the Gideon issue?" PIper said, suddenly remembered that Prue had mentioned Gideon.

"Gideon?" Chris said, now he was mad. Messing with one of his brothers was bad but with 2!

Jake was just silently staring in front of him for a while but slowly took a bite out of his choclate and swallowed it slowly, not sure what else to do as he faugely listened to what the others were saying.


"I guess it is possible...we have no idea when we are going to be attacked by him...we don't even really know his motive, but it would make sense...did it look like Gideon from what you saw Piper?" asked Prue and Paige paused as she saw Chris's reaction to Gideon, she had expected nothing less but she hoped Chris would not do anything reckless...

"I am not sure, but his voice sounded like Gideon." She said and looked at Chris, he looked mad, and she understood him.

"I am going to kill him!" Chris yelled. "Messing with Wyatt was one thing but now with Jake and Melinda! He is so dead!" He yelled.

"Chris, calm down!" Leo said. "We don't know if it is going to be him!" Leo said.

"I am sure it is going to be him, give me a reason, just one. And I'll kill him! Nobody messes with my family!" He said and looked at everyone in the room.

Melinda winced, not only out of Chris's anger, but also because of the fact he had mentioned Jake, then family! Melinda could only thank the Elders that Jake was too far out of it after the attack to be even paying attention to Chris. Leola had sadly picked up on some of the anger of Chris and tried to calm herself before she broke a plate.


"Look I think everyone needs to calm down because yelling is not going to get us anywhere. Gideon obviously found away to cheat death, so now we do what you guys did last time, we make sure he dies and stays dead and then we worry about everything else" stated Leola who was trying to remain calm. Paige nodded slowly and silently, agreeing with Leola, she knew that fighting would do nothing but cause probelms and make things easier for Gideon, but what was Gideons plan?

Piper sued Chris. She expected Chris' reaction to be like that, he had faced Gideon once, but twice. Now, the one she was more worried about was Leo, he had dealt with Gideon before and Leo was a pacifist but when it came to his family, he was a fighter.

"Chris, calm down! Anger leads nowhere good." Piper said.

"Your mother is right." Leo said. "You need to calm down, why don't you go upstairs and rest, you sure seem like you could use some sleep."

"I am fine, dad. I am sorry, I was like that, it is just that.." He started but couldn't finish the sentence, he had no idea how.

"I know, we all feel the same." Leo said and smiled at his son.

"...Prue could you take Jake upstairs for a moment, I think he needs a little rest" said Melinda and Prue, automatically understanding, took Jake's hand and orbed upstairs.


"Okay...you guys should know the thruth. In the old future...when Wyatt was evil, me, Chris did meet Jake eventually...and he did find out about his family, but after Piper had died and Leo had....gone out of reach. Jake, me and Chris were as close as anyone could be, we were the strongest when we were together and so somehow, the Elders were able to use our powerful bond to create a new power of three..." said Melinda slowly.


"But I thought the power of three was only for sisters?" stated Paige.


"The legend stated this because Melinda declared that three sisters would have the power of three but she did not destine anything after that and the power focuses on the bond not the sisterhood, it is the bond that keeps the Power of Three alive. So we used the Power of Three to fight Wyatt and start the resistance...but...just before we were going to launch an attack on Wyatt's forces, they found the rebel site and there was so much chaos....and....we called for the Elders to help, the Elders came inclduing Leo, but there was too many, we couldn't break free, but Jake held them off to let us escape...he...didn't make it...he died saving us all from the demons....but when the new future came when Wyatt was good, the bond we had was supposed to be destroyed....but it didn't, it remained with us..." trailed off Melinda.


"So the future power of three....is you...Jake...and Chris" said Paige slowly.

Chris looked at his aunts and then at his parents. They all had a shocked look on their face, Chris had no idea why Melinda told them, she wasn't supposed to.

"So, you're our sucesors, so to speak?" Phoebe said.

"Yes." Chris said looking at his sister, he then swallowed, he had no idea how to say what he wanted to.

"Well, what about Wyatt?" Piper asked. "If you're the future Power of Three, then he is...?" Piper asked she was curious to know what happened to her eldest son.

"Well, Wyatt is one of the most powerful beings, you know that. So, he's usually being trained to be a whitelighter or spending time with the Elders, they have this hope that someday Wyatt will be one of them." Chris explained.

(Sorry! I was meant to add that Chris did not know and this would make him feel more adepquest, I will explain now why Chris does not know.)


"But the Elders thought after our experience in the old future that we would not want the power, so they erased our memories of ever having the power, but the power came back anyway, I guess it was detsined now matter what the time line...the Eldeds came to me a week or so ago...well, in my time, they told us all but Chris was...still in the present to help the future Jake..." trailed off Melinda.


"God time travel is bloody confusing, so basically, you guys are the future Charmed Ones, Chris doesn't know, Jake doesn't know...but...." trailed off Paige.


"Maybe Gideon does!" gasped Leola in relaization of what Paige must have been thinking. "Maybe he is trying to eliminate the netx power of three, think about it, he probably thinks Wyatt has corrputed us...turned us all against the greater good, so he wants to get rid of the future Charmed Ones...take our powers...and use them on Wyatt" trailed off Melinda.

"So if Gideon knows, then..he is to get you, all 3 of you. So, Gideon has something to do with Jake being kidnapped as a baby." Piper said. "Now we have to be more careful, because I am sure that he knows that we'd figure it out." Piper finished, she was sure that Gideon would figure out that they'd crack the code. Piper's gaze kept staring at the floor.

"Piper, are you alright?" Phoebe asked.

"I'm fine." She said and looked at everyone in the room. "Now we can't let the guard down." She said and placed her hand on her belly. "Jake and Melinda need us."

"Well, I think we all need to just calm down for a little while, this is serious information overload and I think we all need a breather, besides Piper, your premenition was it in the day or the night?" asked Paige.


"Either way Gideon needs only one of us to-" started Melinda but she was cut off by a loud scream, Prue.


Wating no time, Leola dissapered in a bright cupid light and Paige orbed upstairs and Melinda dashe dup the stairs. Whdn they entered the guest room, they saw Prue on the floor, a dark lighter arrow stuck in her stomach, she was shaking badly.

"Gideon...dark lighter....took...Jake...." she could barely say the words, her vision was blury and her hands shaking badly.
