Charmed Without A Choice

Chris ran upstairs and saw his aunt but no Jake. He got mad once again, nobody messed with his family. He slowly left the room, with all the conmotion no one was going to notice. He orbed out focusing on Jake.

Piper ran towards her sister. She was not going to lose her again.

"Prue!" She said and held her sister's hand. Phoebe approached them and looked at Prue. She couldn't bare to lose her again.

"Prue, hang on!" Phoebe said, she then looked at Leo. "Heal her!"

Prue weakly put her hand to Piper's chest and gently gave her a push. "Stay back, you've got kids in there with whitelighter blood.." she said slowly and closed her eyes, her body shaking.


"Let me try" stated Leola and she closed her eyes and held her hand out. "Arrow!" she called and in a pink light, the arrow painlessly dissapered out of Prue and into Leola's hand. Paige quickly leaned over Prue and with Leo's help would start to heal her.


Chris would find Jake's body lying on the ground in Magic School with candles surronding it but nobody in sight, it was quiet, too quiet.

Chris looked around, it just seemed to easy, it had to be some kind of trap. He prepared himself for any attack and approached Jake.

"Gideon! Gideon!" He said and saw an atheme on a table and took it. "I know you're here come out from wherever you are!" He yelled.

Piper saw her sister being healed and smiled at the sight of her being alright.

"Where's Chris?" She asked looking around.

"I thought he was here." Phoebe said. "When we came in he was right behind you."

"He must have gone to find Jake, he probably could sense him, they are connected after all" said Paige and Melinda quickly looked up. "Paige, take my hand, I can lead us to them!" she stated and Paige would quickly take Melindas hand. "Anyone else who wants come, grab on!" yelled Melinda and Prue and Leola were already grabbing on and Prue would grab Pipers hand and Leola would grab Leo and Phoebes hand and they would all orb.


Slowly, Jake would rise to his feet at a snails pace, his head slow as he stood up before it finally stared right at Chris, grinning wickedly, this was not Jake but it was not Gideon either, it was something else. "Why hello Chris, or should I say big brother, come to play hero agin, you should really find a new hobby" he stated and shot his hand and darkness spurted out of his hand and wrapped around Chris' legs and swinging his hand, the darkness pulled at Chris's feet and would force him to loose balance and fall down.



Suddenly, the rest of the Halliwells would orb in. "What the hell, Jake!?" yelled Paige. "No..that's not Jake" said Melinda. "Is it Gideon?" asked Leola and Melinda shook her head. "No...something else."


"Why, why, if it isn't a family reunion, how boring" said Jake in a bored tone and he snapped his fingers and two more of him appeared in dark light. "Might as well make this more fun" all three Jake said at once, all with cruel smirks.

Chris looked around.

"No!" He said as he struggled to break himself free. "Not my sister!" He said and a blast of light broke the darkness that surrounded him. He then looked at his hand and saw big white lights coming from them. PIper and Leo looked astonished as they saw Chris' hands.

"What the hell?" Piper said. "what is that coming out from Chris' hands?" She asked looking at Leo.

"I have no idea." He answered, he then looked at Prue.

"This is not time for explanations." Phoebe said. "Chris!" She yelled and her nephew threw some of the whitelight that broke them free. Chris then looked at Jake, had the darkness taken over him?

"The light..." whispered Prue in shock and Melinda looked in confusion. "What are you talking about?!" demanded Melinda.


"The two powers that are neither demonic nor witch like, light and darkness, ying and yang, only two bearers can withstand the power and responsibility that comes with each, Jake is the controller of darkness, Chris must be the controller of light" she said slowly and Melinda's eyes went wide. "The light...and the darkness."


"So...has the darkness taken Jake?" asked a worried Leola and Melinda slowly shook her head. "No..I don't think this is all of Jake..."



"Bah, light, so weak and easy to take out, like the flame of a candle, but such a power can be expected when your father screws your mother while he is an Elder" smirked Jake looking at Leo. "Must be sad Leo, to know you failed to save Wyatt, then you watch Chris die because you trusted Gideon over Chris, then to know that you couldn't protect your third son, I guess third time isn't the charm, oh well, least you didn't screw up with Mel, then again, nobody knows the future" grinned Jake wickedly.


"Don't listen to him, he is trying to manipulate you" stated Prue and Jake smirked. "Ah, my dead aunt, shouldn't you be in your grave or up in heaven with Andy, your precious cop, didn't he die because he knew your secret?" smirked Jake.


"You are evil, you can't be Jake, you are nothing more then a shadow" said Prue in a cold voice.


"Oh please, you are all so weak, you run from the darkness yet you have all tasted it and I can taste all of your sorrow, Phoebe knowing she was always the screw up, Paige, believing she would never have been wanted if she had not been needed for the power of three and Piper, oh how you cried and sobbed for Prue to come back.. I believe you actually begged like a peasent, not much of a mother figure there" smirked Jake in amusement.

Chris looked at Jake, that couldn't be his brother. He threw a ball of light to him. Piper looked at Chris.

"Chris! We don't want Jake to get hurt! Don't be to harsh on him!" She yelled to Chris.

"Relax!" Leo said. "Chris knows what he's doing!"

"are you sure?" Phoebe asked.

"I trust him." Leo yelled so that Chris could hear, the light on Chris' hands shone brighter now. He then threw another slash of light to his brother.

"Jake, this is not you!" He yelled to his brother.

"Oh save your saviour and heroic speech act Chris, because it is rather boring" sneered Jake as he threw his own balls of darknnes which counter acted the ones of light and caused mini explosions between the two.


"I believe Wyatt once said it...." grinned Jake and he mimicked Wyatt's voice perfectly. "I don't need you."

Jake continued to throw the balls of darkness with one hand and he then used his second hand to shoot darkness and wrap it around Chris's neck and he tightened his grip into a fist and the darkness began to tighten around Chris's neck as it began to strangle him.


"Jake stop it!" yelled Melinda in fear and she looked at Leola who knew she had to help or Chris would be screwed. "Axe!" cried Leola as she held out her hand the weapon on display appeared in her hand in a pink glow and it shot towards Jake. Jake eyes dartened and he held his hand out. "Axe!" he called and in orbs the Axe appeared in his own hand, but they were not white orbs, but black orbs. Yet know, Jake had lost his grip on Chris throat and he growld.


"Meddling witch!" he snapped and looked at Chris. "How weak of you, to reply on others, I'll give you a fitting end for such a fool" he stated as he suddenly shot dark lighting from his hands but instead of hitting Chris, he changed his aim to Piper, yet Paige pushed Piper out of the way and the lighting hit her and she was sent flying into the wall and fell to the ground, out cold.

"Paige!" She yelled and then turned to look at Jake. "You selfish little brat! All you are thinking about is you, you and you. You almost killed your brother, you almost killed your cousin and now look at what you've done to your aunt. You're a selfish little boy and that won't change." She said and saw that Jake was getting mad. "Are you going to kill me? Go ahead, I have nothing to lose, you do." She finally yelled, she was really mad right now, as mad as she had never been before. Behind her, Leo was with Paige. He had heard everything that Piper said. Phoebe was just frozen in fear, she had never heard Piper that mad. Chris had no idea what to say, he was just there with the light on his hands, wondering what he should do now. Phoebe ran towards Paige.

"Paige! Paige!" She said. Piper kept looking at Jake. She had a fierce look on her eyes.

Jake snarled at her words, she was nuisanse and he was getting irritated by her. Snapping his fingers, twelve knives appeared in black light and shot towards Piper. Melinda eyes widened and she jumped in front of Piper and held her hand out and her deflection power caused the knifes to chnage direction and Jake barely dodged them.


"THat's not Jake!" yelled Melinda in relief and Prue looked up from helping Paige. "How can you be sure?" she asked.


"He was about to kill mom and mom is still carrying me and Jake, if he killed her, he would have killed himself!" she called out. Relief swarmed over Leola, it wasn't Jake, which meant they had not lost him to darkness, but who was this then?!


"Stubborn little witch, to smart for her own good" growled the Jake imposter.


"Who are you?" demanded Prue as she helped a dizzy Paige back up.


"Like you said Pruedence, I am a mere shadow of what Jake could be, how evil Jake could be, imagine, no family, nobody, just alone with darkness all around you, it make even Leo turn as black as soot"


"Why did you do this, you didn't earn anything" yelled Melinda.


"Oh? I bought Gideon time, time to complete the ritual." smirked Jake's shadow.


"What ritual?" asked a dizzy Paige.


"The ritual to kill a witch and take their powers" stated Jake's shadow and the sound of Jake's screams filled the Magic School.


"Right on schedule, unlucky Halliwells, see you again soon" grinned the shadow as it dissapered into black. Eyes filled with horror, Melinda would run along with the others to the screams only to find the real Jake, a deep cut in his stomach, his face pale and his eyes lifeless on the floor. Gideon was gone.

"Jake!" Piper ran towards him. "Jake, Jake!" She kneeled next to him. "Jake, no!" She said and started to cry. Chris looked at the whole scene, he was going to mke Gideon pay, he was determined to. Leo kneeled next to Piper.

"Jake!" He said and remebered how he felt when he saw Chris dying, at the hands of Gideon. "Jake! No!" He said and looked at Chris, who was standing behind him, Chris' eyes were widened and you could see rage coming out from them, but also tears.

"There's gotta be a way to fix this." Chris whispered and then looked at Melinda and Leola, they could help.

Paige's own tears were pouring, no, this could not be happening! Not now! Notafter everything! Melinda and Leola were beyond fear and denial, both girls kneeling by Jake, fresh tears staining their cheeks. But Prue eyes were staring at Jake's body and she finally whispered. "He's not dead..." she trailed off and Paige and Melinda and Leola all looked at her.


"When Chris....passed away, his body did too, because it did not belong in this time, but Jake's hasn't" she said slowly and Melinda froze. "But his body is stone cold...he doesn't even have a heart beat.."


"The ritual..to take a witches powers, it requires an athame which...drains the powers, but the whole point is that the power of light and darkness are attached to the users soul...which means" trailed off Prue.


"Gideon has Jake's soul..." finished Leola.

Chris looked at Prue, it made sense. But how were they going to get Jake's soul back? He looked at Melinda.

"I have an idea." Chris said and Leo looked at him. "But I need Melinda to come with me." He swallowed. "And I was thinking that we should get Wyatt."

"What?" Piper asked. "Why?"

"I don't want to risk you, mom. And we need as much power as we can get, Wyatt seems like a fair choice, don't you think?" He said and looked around, waiting for someone to reply.

Melinda paused and looked at Piper then at Chris and lowered her eyes, it would be a good idea, besides, Wyatt hated Gideon just as much as Chris, after all, he was the one who had turned him against his family...just the thought of what Wyatt would react like was bad enough, but still, Wyatt would do anything to save his siblings.


"I think Chris is right, Wyatt is our best shot, besides, if Gideon has Jake's powers we are going to need all the help we can get" stated.


"Can't wait to see his reaction, he is not exactly Gideons number on fan.." trailed off Leola and Melinda nodded slowly. "But we have to, besides, when it comes to family, Wyatt would do anything to help."

Chris looked at everyone.

"OK, I'll summon him." Chris said and looked at Piper, then went to get one of the books that was on one of the shelves. He drew the power of three symbol on the wall and pricked his finger with an atheme. He placed some blood on the symbol. "Blood to blood I summon thee, blood to blood come here to me. I call you brother to this timeline, so come back to this time." Chris said, saying the first words that came to his head, there was no spell in the book just the way of getting a time spell to work. Suddenly there was a big blue light and Wyatt came out of it.

"OK! It was about time you guys called." He said. "What took you so long?" He said and suddenly saw Jake on the floor, his face went pale.

Melinda would follow suit along with Paige and Leola. Melinda's eyes would be full of new tears when he saw Wyatt's reaction. "Gideon came back....he took his powers and then...well..." trailed off Melinda as she desperatly tried to pull it together.


"But we believe Jake's soul is trapped in the athame Gideon used on Jake, but we need your help" said Paige slowly and Leola wrapped her arms around Melinda and hugged her close as she pressed her head against her neck and fresh tears rolled down her cheek. Prue simply stared at Jake's body, it was her fault, she was his whitelighet, but the arrow came out of nowhere...just seeing his lifeless face was just...horrifying..

Wyatt looked at Chris and then at Jake's body. His face suddenly turned red, it was anger.

"Gideon is so dead! I am going to kill him, and send him straight to hell." Wyatt started to yell. "That coward!" He started to repeat all over again. He then looked at Chris, whose face was still pale. "What's the plan?" He asked looking at Jake's body.

"You, Mel and me are going to face Gideon." Chris said. "Together." Chris stated and Leo looked at them.

"Let me help." Leo said.

"No, dad. If something happens to you the future is going to be changed, like it or not." Chris told Leo. "You need to stay and take care of mom."

"Chris is right, confronting Gideon is dangerous." Wyatt added. Phoebe looked at his nephews and then at Prue.

"It was not your fault." Phoebe said as she felt how her sister blamed herself. "It could've happened to anyone."

Melinda lowered her eyes, yep, Wyatt was pissed, she did not blame him, but she did not want to see more family members having to deal with Jake's tempoaray death. She nodded slowly at Chris's words and she slowly looked up at Leo.


"Chris is right dad, besides...if anything happens to us, you need to be here to protect out past selves and Piper" she said slowly and Leola looked at Melinda.


"I can't let you go alone, besides, I haven't even been born yet, you could use me...I can't let you guys go alone..."

Chris looked at Leola, he couldn't say no to her. He knew that Leola was really clever and knew how to use invasive empathy really well. He then looked at Wyatt, who nodded.

"You can come." Chris said. "But in one condition, if we tell you to get out of there, you will, and you too, Mel. I won't risk losing both of you." Chris said and looked at Wyatt. "Are we ready?"

"Yes, we are." Wyatt said and looked one last time at Jake's body before orbing out. Chris followed, and Leo looked at everyone in the room.

"I am sure they'll be able to pull it out." He said and looked at Piper, who looked not only worried but in grief. "They'll save him and everything's gonna be alright."

Melinda nodded slowly and Leola took her hand the two dissapered in a pink light as they would follow Wyatt and Chris's orbs.

Prue shook her head at Phoebes words. "I am his whitelighter...I should have been more alert" she said softly and Paige rubbed her shoulder gently. "Sweetie, nobody could have suspected he would get a darlighter on his side" she said softly and Prue said nothing, eyes down low.

Melinda and Leola would appear a few seconds later behind Chris and Wyatt and the two girls would look around slowly before looking at the older boys. "Any idea where we are?"
