Charmed Without A Choice

Phoebe looked at her. She had made her stay, at least for a while. Leo smiled at Melinda.

"Well, I am sure. That Piper won't lecture you when you get back, right?" Phoebe asked looking at Piper.

"Yeah, I will write it down so my future self doesn't forget." She said, half joking half serious. Chris looked at his dad.

"They're staying? Who will come next Wyatt?" He said. Leo looked at him.

"Chris, your sister and cousin are staying here to help us like it or not." He said in a tone of voice that was rare in him, he sounded angry. "Now if you don't like it, you can get your butt back to the future." He said and Chris slowly sat down again. No one in the room had never seen Leo like that.

Prue and Paige were just as shocked as Chris and Jake was completely dumbfounded by the sudden tone and there was a small silence before Leola broke it.


"It's probably just his time of the month" she stated with a fake innocent look as she continued to pour the liquid into the beaker and Melinda held back a laugh and Prue soon followed, the simple idea of Leo having "his time of the month" like every other women was enough to cause Prue to hide a grin, Leola was definetly Phoebe's child, not afraid of doing or saying anything.


Victor had also held back a smile, there was certainly a lot going on and he did not need to mess anything else up, so he would simply wait for the potion to be ready, still trying to get Leola's comment out of his head.

Phoebe giggled as well, Piper looked at her.

"Sorry!" She said between giggles. Chris was the only one that was serious, he had never heard his father like that. He then stood up and went towards Leo.

"I'm sorry, dad." He said. "I just...I'm sorry." He said. Leo looked at him.

"Just don't make comments like that ever again." He said and went towards Piper.

"Are you OK. honey?" She asked.

"Yeah." He smiled. "How are you feeling?" He asked.

"Great." She said as she saw Jake and then Melinda and placed one of her hands on her belly. "Couldn't be better. How is that potion going, Leola?" Piper asked.

Leola suddenly felt a little dizzy as her empath power kicked in and she groaned and held her head and looked at Leo.

"Geesh, I didn't mean it Leo, you don't have to take it to heart!" she said in a hurt voice and Melinda blinked and looked at her oddly and Leola suddenly blinked. "Okay...that was weird...I guess I uh...lost it a bit there" she said slowly and Melinda looked at Chris before looking back at Leola.


"The potion should be ready any second now, just got to make sure it won't kill us all" she stated as she swirled the green liquid around.


"What a reassuring thought" mumbled Paige and Leola waved her hand dismissivley. "Not to worry, I haven't killed anyone with my potions, well, not any good guys anyway" she stated and Paige laughed nervously. "Another lovley, reassuring thought."


Jake watched silently, but was frowing slightly, he was feeling that Leo had treated unfairly towards Chris but he wouldn't say anything but it seemed Leola had picked up on it whether she liked it or not.


"I mean it's not like the comment was meant to upset anyone, I mean when he said it he had a point!" stated Leola but the feelings passed and she paused. "Okay...you people need to stop sending me bad vibes because my empath power sucks right about now and I can barely control it."

Chris took a deep breath.

"I am out of here." He said and moments everybody heard the door shut. Leo sighed.

"Want me to go and get him?" He asked.

"No, Leo you don't have to. He'll come back." Phoebe said.

"Then why do I feel like he won't?" Piper said.

"What?" Phoebe asked confussed.

"I have a feeling that he won't." She said.

"Then it's his choice, don't you think?" Phoebe said.

Jake watched Chris go and he quickly got to his feet to follow and began to walk to the door, more then irritated now by everyone else in the room who seemed to be completely delusional to the fact that Chris was upset. Leola once again picked on the vibes and shook her head and glared at the others.


"Well don't all of you jump at once to help Chris" she stated, but her eyes softened and Melinda sighed. "Come on Miss Empath, time to focus on the potion." she said softly.

"Well it's just about done, all that's left now is a direct decendant drop of blood" she stated and Melinda paused. "Well, why not use mine or mom's?"


"No, this is a powerful spell, we are talking about time itself, it has to be a direct descendant, as in a sibling or parent" she said slowly and Victor winced, he would have to get the blood from his parent, which would mean giving the game away...


Jake quickly followed Chris and walked beside him. "You okay? Listen, ignore Leo, he was totally out of line, you were right to question it, I mean, they are playing with timelines" he said as he walked up to the older one.

Chris turned to look at Jake. He took a deep breath.

"That's not it, Jake. Belive me that's not it. I am used to the fact that what I say doesn't count, I am used to always being the last choice for everything, but I am not getting my sister into this, it is dangerous. And also if she is here then..." He stopped he couldn't finish the sentence with Wyatt will come too.

Piper looked at Leo.

"He is not coming back, I assure you that." She said.

"How can you tell?" Phoebe asked.

"Because I am his mother and I know him." She said very firmly.

"Chris, talk to me, come on, you have helped me out when my soul decided to split me into three, now it's my turn, talk to me, tell me what's eating you up" he said softly as he watched the over silently, he did not want to see the other sad, he did not know why, but he just did not.


"Well Chris is not the easiest person to read, especially when he goes into lone wolf mode" stated Melinda and Victor lowered his eyes and Leola looked at Victor. "It's him isn't it...I can feel your sadness, to see Chris upset, it hurts you so much to see Chris upset, he's your father isn't he?" she asked slowly, Prue eyes widened and Paige looked at Victor, out of all three boys, Chris was the last one on her list to be Victor's father.

Chris looked at Jake.

"All my life, Wyatt has been the nice kid, the powerful, the everything. Then Melinda, the only girl, that makes her special." He looked away. "No matter what I do or say, Wyatt and Melinda are better. My opinion never matters and I am sick of that, Jake. And don't get me wrong I'd give my life for Melinda and Wyatt anyday, but I can't help to think if they'd do the same for me." He finished and looked at Jake, he had never told anyone that.

Piper looked at Victor.

"So, Chris is your father?" She smiled. "I am sure he is a great dad, right?" She asked Victor, she couldn't imagine how he must feel right now after what happened.

Victor smiled softly and lowered his gaze and nodded. "Yeah, he's the best..." he trailed off slowly and looked back up at the others. "Though I think his over protective side was rubbed of you Grandma" he smiled as he looked at Piper.


Jake stared at Chris and suddenly burst out laughing as he looked at him. "You are kidding right!? You, Christopher Halliwell, the guy who single handedly saved Wyatt from turning evil, risked himself and helped stop Gideon, prevented millions of people dying and saving the future, doesn't feel special, Chris you have something that Wyatt does not understand, sure he may have the obvious power, but you, you have the courage that thousands can barely dream of, the determination that changed a world, the passion for your family so great that you took the long way and saved not only the future, but your brother, your are not just special Chris, you are extradionary."

Chris looked at Jake and smiled. Nobody had ever said that to him and coming from his little brother it made him feel special.
"Thanks, Jake. I neeed to hear that." He said, he had forgotten all about that trip to the past, he had forgotten how much he struggled to save Wyatt, and now he remebered that he was also going to save Jake, he was to and that was not a question.
"Common, let's go back, they are probably wondering where you are." He said and went back to the attic.

Piper smiled at Victor again.
"Leo, can you get Chris, please?" She said.
"How am I going to make him get here?" He said, he was wondering that if after what happened he was going to listen to him.
"Tell him his son needs him." She said and looked at Victor.
"My what?" Chris said at the door, Piper looked at him.
"Hi, Chris." She said and looked at Prue. "Help!" She mouthed.

Jake smiled slowly and shrugged. "Well, somebody had to get that smile back on your face" he smiled softly but followed Chris into the attic.


"Uh, your famiy, your family needs you, we need your blood..for the uh, potion, just a small drop to send Victor back" stated Prue, praying he did not ask why. Victor lowered his gaze, not looking at Chris and Leola looked between the Halliwells and Chris and whispered loudly to Melinda.


"All you need now is dramatic music in the background and we could be in a soap opera." Melinda smacked her hand playfully and gave her 'not the time' look but it was still a playfull one as she was clearly amused by the statement and Jake looked back from Prue to Victor. "Wow...could you two look like you were hiding something anymore? Look I may be an outsiders opinoin, but Chris is clearly being kept in the dark about something and you guys are his family, families are supposed to stick together and are supposed to be the people you can always come to no matter what."

"Nicley said" said Paige with a soft smile.


"Hmm, yes, very similar to someone I know would have said" stated Prue as she looked at Leo in amusement.

Leo looked at Chris, after what happened he felt really bad. He remembered what Chris had said to rebelious Jake at Magic School, but now Chris seemed a lot more calm.

"Chris...um...we need some of your blood to send Victor back, because we need the blood from a close relative." Phoebe said and rubbed her hand on her neck, as she did when she was nervous. Chris looked at her and his face went white. Victor was his son? He then looked at Victor, he was speechless.

"Chris? Are you alright?" Piper said and went towards him.

"I'm fine, mom." He said and then looked at his aunt Phoebe. "How much blood do you need?"

"Just a little." She said as she pricked Chris' finger with an atheme and then dropped it inside the potion.

Victor gaze remained low as Chris looked at him, god was this beyond awkward, but he decided to just go with it for at least now as Leola slowly corked the potion and tossed it against the wall.


It exploded in a blue light and a small portal opened up and Victor sighed in relief. "Well I guess this is goodbye" he smiled softly and Leola gronaed. "But we didn't even get to see any embaressing pictures of my soon to be nephew!" she pouted playfully and hugged her future nephew.

Chris looked at his son and wento towards him, he gave him some quick pats on the back.

"Be careful, time traveling can be difficult." He said and smiled. Piper realized how much Chris had from Leo, he had his paternal instinct.

"See you in a later future." She said and hugged Victor.

"Don't you play with potions again." Phoebe said and hugged him. Leo approached him.

"Chris is right, be careful." He said and gave him some quick pats on the back like the ones Chris gave Victor.

"I guess be careful is Chris and Leo's way of saying I love you, right?" Phoebe whispered to Paige.

Paige smiled slowly. "It's more of their way of saying, you better not scare me or I'll have a panic attack and sob like a baby, but you know men, if they say what they really mean they are too sensitive" sighed Paige and rolled her eyes but grinned at Phoebe.


Victor smiled softly at Chris and grinned at Leo. "Don't worry grandpa, I always keep my promises to you."


"Oh? Only to grandpa?" asked an amused Prue.


"Yeah, grandpa is awesome" stated Victor like it was obvious.


"Huh, guess awesome grandpas run in the family" stated an amused Paige as she remembered Chris mention of how awesome Grandpa Victor had been.


Victor smiled and hugged Piper and Phoebe and hugged Prue.


"Don't scare Chris too much, apart from testicles he is a Piper replica and we all know how scared they get" she grinned playfully and Victor grinned back. "I noticed growing up" he smiled and Paige grinned and hugged Victor before he slowly turned around and began to walk towards the portal, but slowly turned round and smiled.


"For the record, dad's gonna kill me for telling you something about the future but, you better get ready for a house filled with new kids, because Piper won't be the only one pregnant soon" he smiled before dissapering in the portal.

Piper looked at Phoebe and Paige and giggled.

"What?" Phoebe said as she saw her sister.

"You heard him." Piper said and looked at Leola. "I am not going to be the only one pregnant for long." She said. Chris looked at his cousin.

"Now you might get to see yoursef as a baby, not only Mel and Jake." He whispered to her because Jake was right behind him. Leo looked at Chris, when Chris looked up he saw his father and nodded in assentment. Leo smiled at him.

"See, he is not mad." Phoebe said behind him.

"That's not why I was worried." He said and repeated inside his head the words he had heard Chris say at Magic School.

"Trust me, this one will be a handful" stated Melinda as she prodded her cousins head and Leola stuck her tongue out and waved her arms dramatically.


"It's all part of my charm" she stated and Melinda raised an eyebrow.


"Really, so sending all of your friends to Elder land on your birthday party was charm?" asked an amused Melinda.


"Oh come on I was severn and besides, they didn't do anything wrong....much" she said slowly and Paige eyes widened and so did Prue's.


"Ohh, lovley, we have another Phoebe on our hands" smiled Prue.

"Thank God that our Phoebe didn't have powers growing up." Piper said and smiled at her sister.

"Hey! I was not a bad kid." She said. "I was just.."

"Rebelious, not a good listener..." Piper said and Phoebe interrupted her.

"Misunderstood." Phoebe said and looked at Prue.

"Daddy!" Little Chris said suddenly and everybody turned to look.

"Here we go again." Chris said.

Little Chris was back to chanting and jumping up and down and Melinda groaned and rubbed her eyes. "God I have sympathy for you mom, four kids, no wonder you freak out over everything" she smiled.


"This requires the touch of Leola Halliwell, the finest babysitter in all the land!" stated Leola with a grin and a dramatic pose as she bent down on her knees and placed her hand on Chris's forehead.

"Chris, you want to calm down and relax, you are tired of such a big day."


Little Chris began to yawn and he rubbed his tired eyes and Leola picked him up and placed him in the arm chair before spinning around and grinning. "When I'm good, I am reaaally good!"
