Reasonable and logic theory

Its still awful. The severe budget cuts are so noticeable, the few sets they have, the lack of any real demonic looking demons, Phoebe's huge lack of premonitions, Piper not freezing much, the loss of Brian Krause, the addition of Miss "I can't make crying look good to save my life", it was a mess. BUT there are a couple of positives. First and foremost. Paige. Paige. Paige and Paige. Thank God for her in this season along with Henry. Second of all is that despite the lack of budget (which I think is why they ended up just making two ordinary looking witches the big bad), it actually had a coherent story, far more cohesive than season six. The one thing that will forever make me hate this season though is Paige not remembering that she was present during the vanquishing of The Source. You'd think someone would have said, "Um but she was there?" but nope. Unforgiveable. I agree with all you said. On the topic of Paige not remembering the Source vanquish, I had put out a theory a year or so back on another forum but a lot of folks didn't buy into it. My theory was that after the power brokers in season 4x16 "the fifth Halliwell" infected Paige, she ended up forgetting way more stuff than just what had recently happened after she was infected. I figured it was due to Cole accelerating Paige's infection magically. Cole had told the seer he would accelerate her slide and push her past fear into paranoia. Which he did and Paige almost died. Then when the seer confronted Cole at the end about saving Paige, he mentioned that Paige had no memory and wasn't a threat. Which could also mean that Cole made doubly sure Paige had no remembrance of him being the Source or being able to link the Sources vanquish and powers back to him including her pondering question she had about what happened to the Sources powers after his vanquish. Remembering questions like that could trigger her memories. For it was Paige who asked the question in "charmed and Dangerous" about where the Sources powers went and the seer said "into the void". Cole I'm sure couldn't risk her remembering those things. That's why Paige couldn't even remember meeting the innocent Karen that day even though Paige met her way before she got infected. That's why pipers was so surprised Paige had no recollection of Karen. When Paige said "do we know her?", pipers reaction was "wow! Your memory really is shot!". So my theory was that Cole ensured all those events were erased, all the events of that day with the power brokers and Karen, including events relating to vanquishing the source and him absorbing his powers. Its a good idea but Paige knew the Source vanquishing spell off by heart when her, Leo and Piper turned up at the penthouse to vanquish Cole with Phoebe didn't she? So at the very least she remembers vanquishing THAT version of The Source, which used the same spell anyway.

I think Charmed should've gone out with a bang. Instead of my be ultimate power, it should've been the Dogan with them teaching a new witch, not Billie, about the craft. It would've been way better.

Season 6 is worse than this season. I don't hate it like I do season 6, but it isn't the best season 8 and is not on my list of top 3 seasons. I was rotting for Billie and Christy to win, and how on earth could the writers make me think like this. Easy they were written so far from how they were before.
Paige was alright, and when she got with Henry I was happy. I would of found it refreshing if Phoebe never got a happy ending, and remained single.

Just finished my Charmed all over again marathon. I watched every single episode, 1x01 till 8x22 and God I've changed my mind about season 8. Back then I was sort of confused and I didn't like it that much, now I love it! I understood so many things about the sisters, things that (aside from the fictional magic world) because of my age and personal issues now I'm feeling strongly related to, things that make a lot of fans hate S8, fans who IMO share Christy's mentality on how the Charmed ones should be and act. If there's something I fully hated while watching this season was precisely Christy and her mentality. I swear I wanted to become a magical creature to kill her with my own powers! LOL! I am aware that some fans could probably dislike my views, maybe even hate me for going against the flow, but I assure you that my intention will never be to attack other fans, nor say I'm right and you/they are wrong. I respect all your opinions, this is just the way I see it. I'm rewatching Season 8 as well and finding that I do enjoy it. Maybe more than Season 5 and 7 in some respects.

Maybe the reason is that actually there are few tv shows that I like, so I'm enjoying a lot some episeodes of season 8

The more you watch season 8, the better it gets. It Kind of shows that point in their lives when the whole charmed thing for them had really taken its toll on them and they were kind of tired of all of it. Except for Paige. Dealing with Zankou and nearly dying really did a number on them

The one thing though that I never really understood, was how the elders couldn’t have seen through their glamour spell. They should have known the three cousins were the charmed ones. And plus the BOS didn’t move on. Wouldn’t the triquetra on the BOS have separated if the power of three were no more or the Elders felt the loss of the Power of 3? I kept expecting the elders to have appeared to them and said their rouse wouldn’t last and that they knew what the sisters were trying to do.

At first, the sisters knew nothing about magic and the Elders seemed almost gods with their experienced powesr Bur in season 8, the sisters were full in control of their powers and able to made spells to fool even the Elders I think that the Elders have always been afraid of the Power of the Three, because it was more powerful then them

I used to always like this season but the aspects of it for me did change as time went on. I used to love Phoebe's arc in this season now I'm a little more apathetic about it. Not as much of a fan of Piper's. Paige's was awesome one reason why I love this season so much is because of her.

Like honestly dear, how could nobody be fooled by three cousins living in the same house as the sisters. Demons and Elders should of figured it out almost immediately.

Exactly if the sisters were gonna fake their deaths and thought they might keep that up a last a long time then they should've done it right and thought like someone in witness protection and changed everything like selling the manor and move away whether it be another town or on the other side of San Francisco renting somwhere meantime if they could that is until the house was sold as the shadow or nexus whatever people call it no longer existed so evil couldn't get at it anyway.
Next sold their vehicles and got new ones which people wouldn't recognise or if not used a cloaking spell to hide the real ones which could've extended to clothes, footware and jewellery if they didn't want to buy anything at the time.
Passed on the Book Of Shadows to Wyatt and Chris and no longer used magic even if they were tempted to do it.
Worked different jobs that not envolved giving advice, working in a nightclub or going back into social work perhaps which certainly would've be a big giveaway doing the same jobs as your dead cousins obviously.
And finally changed their mannerisms and personalities so no-one knew them which might've taken time but been something Piper, Phoebe and Paige would've had to have done in order to keep up their rouse at least.

This thread makes me half-tempted to get the Season 8 DVD and re-watch it for the first time since it originally aired. A lot of the reasons why I don't like it (which is how I voted - the only season I hate is S6, although I hate the last half of S4, the first half of S5 and the first half of S7) is because by the time I first watched S8, the only sister I liked was Paige. Well, it's been so long since I watched S4-7 (not quite since it first came out, but close...), that if I can forget how horrible Piper and Phoebe were in S4-7 that maybe I might like them in S8.
What do you guys think?
I remember that I loved Paige, Henry and Little Wyatt, and that Billie wasn't that bad once Christy joined her.
Hmmm....just got an idea. Part of why I hate Piper and Leo in S8 is the way Piper treats him as her little errand boy and then has the GALL to be upset when he dies and gets taken away. Would I do better to just watch the second half?
Although then I would still get stuck with the barfy story of Phoebe and Coop...
Nah, I think I'm better off not buying it.

I got a kick out of reading this dear, convinced you were seriously considering buying the set until I got to the end of your reply. But I had a similar consideration like you dear with Season 7. Something I have considered doing for a while. Of course I will be skipping a few episodes namely Imaginary Fiends and Freaky Phoebe. Starting from Carpe Demon and ending with Something Wicca This Way Goes? but I never could go through with it.

Is it after “Charmed and Dangerous”?

With Charmed's 20th anniversary coming next year, I might watch them for the celebration, and just pick and choose the episodes to watch.

Is it after “Charmed and Dangerous”? If I did what you suggested (getting the entire set) these are the episodes I'd watch from the five seasons I still don't have: 1. Charmed Again, Part One 2. A Knight to Remember 3. Brain Drain 4. A Paige From the Past 5. Lost and Bound 6. Saving Private Leo 7. The Eyes Have It 8. The Day the Magic Died 9. Baby's First Demon 10, Cat House 11. Sense and Sense Ability 12. Forget Me Not 13. The Power of Three Blondes 14. Little Monster 15. I Dream of Phoebe 16. Styx Feet Under 17. Carpe Demon 18. Show Ghouls 19. Scry Hard 20. Little Box of Horrors 21. Something Wicca This Way Goes As far as I'm concerned, this is my DVD: "The Best of Charmed's Alternate-Universe Spin-off: "The Perils of Poor, Poor Pitiful Piper" aka "PhoeME and Her Fantasy Men" aka "Two Witches Plus One Living Whitelighter Equals the Power of Three"? So one season worth of shows in five seasons... No, not quite worth the effort of buying the entire set, especially when I have them all on DVD (I VCRed them off the TNT reruns and then had them transferred to DVD.) And I ended it the way I wanted it ended - Phoebe says, "Here we go!" KABOOM! Turn off the DVD and then turn it back on for the ending credits, leaving Leo and Victor to raise Wyatt and Chris (after Piper binds both of their powers permanently since Leo and Victor couldn't handle kids with powers since they don't have powers themselves), preventing Wyatt from turning evil - no Gideon, no Piper. Still don't really have any desire to watch any of the other episodes in those seasons, not even for the anniversary. So I'll stick with the first three DVDs. But that's my choice. I know others like some (maybe most, maybe all) of the other episodes and I still think that has a lot to do with my age. I'm truly glad that others have re-watched S8 and enjoy it. I just don't think I'd be one of them because I know Poor, Poor Pitiful Piper, Little Errand Boy Leocicle, PhoeMe, Dex, Coop, and Billie would drive me nuts.

Honestly, after reading this thread and seeing the surprising result of the poll, I truly *was* considering getting that DVD. But the more I thought about it, I realized that wouldn't be a very good idea for me, any more than getting the full set or getting S4, S5, S6 or S7. Just not interested in Charmed's alternate-universe spin-off, which is what I consider S4-8 to be. For those who are still interested, go out and get the set and ENJOY!!! I'm just not one of them.

There's always the option Es if you have a computer or tablet that is of just downloading whatever episodes you like from seasons 5-8 and watch them on those or an external hard drive, micro sd card or whatever storage device you have or burn them even to a blank DVD which costs less than a whole boxset or season DVD put together that way your not wasting money buying episodes you don't want like I did season 7 getting all the episodes post Extreme Makeover storing them onto my WD Passport, micro sd card and cloud storage also.
