I didn’t mind billy hanging around the house learning stuff. But It started going downhill once billy found Christy and then the whole disappointing ultimate evil reveal Agreed. They wanted Billie and Christy to be a really big deal, but we didn't really get to see their relationship before the "brainwashing", so it fell kinda flat. I mean, they didn't even show them being reunited after all that time... it happened off screen. How can you not show such a pivotal moment when these two are basically driving your story arc for the rest of the season?

How can you not show such a pivotal moment when these two are basically driving your story arc for the rest of the season? They could have handled things better. I didn't have much beef with the Billie/Christy arc, it just needed some proofing to fix it. The concept of sisters vs sisters wasn't that bad at all. Too bad they didn't make it an even set of three vs three. But the show already did several episodes with evil charmed ones or another set of sisters, so maybe it was done too often.

But the last episode didn't really properly close this arc. It just felt like a rushed job, and so many of the past characters took up screen time, even if they were more important to fans, still, the main arc needed more attention. I felt the story of Christy had so much wasted potential.

Even as I wish a different episode had been that only one. But that's the fun of this re-watch, getting to watch episodes I only saw the first time Charmed aired and *not* seeing it in context - hopefully with no reminders of what horrible characters Piper and Phoebe were in Season 8.

It is too bad another episode wasn't selected. But again, since most haven't seen some seasons in so long most likely. It's easy to forget the episodes.

It's a good thing dear were doing this backward. So the sisters *start* becoming more likable. Next episode is Little Monsters, I think that's the one with the Paige/Darryl plot where Darryl gets powers. I think the Phoebe/Jason parts will already turn me off, hopefully, he isn't in the episode. I can't remember.

This one's one of my favorites even though I don't like those parts, and typical Es, I don't like Chris in it. But I love the parts with Piper and the manticore baby with the forked tongue who becomes Wyatt's friend. I'll be able to watch this one, not just read it, since it's on my DVD of favorite S4-8 episodes. But you're so right, Granny Charmed - it's why I wanted to do this re-watch backwards so I'd love the sisters at the end of it, not hate them as they did after watching '12 Angry Zen'.

I really enjoyed the Manticore baby story with Piper. That I can't wait to relax and watch it with my daughter and granddaughter on Sunday. Exactly so dear. I'm going to feel that much more pleased watching backward this way.

I caught about 7 episodes on TNT as I've been working from home....still has horrible and rushed as I remember it from my first viewing.
Having the sisters take in a witch and mentor her is overall a good idea but the character of Billie was terrible, along with Christy. Naming them the "Ultimate Power" was lazy. They did a huge disservice to Christy by not making her more grey and someone to sympathize with.
Paige gets married and the very next episode is already afraid of losing herself and having martial issues lol....really? Not to mention the insta-lighter we got when Paige is "dead" and her charge just happens to become a whitelighter just in the nick of time to heal her.
The Elders sending Phoebe someone to love is just....lol worthy. "Thanks for your years of service, here's a husband that you've been wanting!!!!!! Who just happens to be a Cupid!" and I still dont get how when Billie makes her own dingy "book of shadows" that talks about the sisters past episodes....Phoebe gets hit with Lust and Coop just goes with it even after a wood nymph is begging for help!
It was a season that had some good ideas but just about everything was halfassed and rushed.

I'll agree with everything you wrote - and I give you plenty of credit for actually watching that many episodes! I don't think I could do that, just like I know I couldn't watch that many S4 or S7 episodes - or if I did, I'd only watch certain storylines - cheering for Zankou in S7 and just watching Paige in S4 and S8. So I'll ask you...if you could only watch ONE storyline in S8, which one would it be?

Luckily its easy to watch since im having to work as well so not much focus goes into it lol. Oh jeez..one storyline in S8? Definitely not Billies....Paige was boring....I guess the journey to get Leo back? It's the most genuine part of the entire season.

If they'd show Piper truly loving Leo rather than just using him for her own little errand boy, I'd agree, but then have him show up just to take him away again? Trying to make them seem like Han and Leia from Star Wars? OH, GIVE ME A BREAK!! Here's a funny one for you - the storyline I'd follow? LITTLE Wyatt! He so had my heart!

That's a tough question, as I hate S8. Nothing in it, I even like as a storyline. I did like Paige and Henry, but even then, they were still not perfect in some of their episodes. I still didn't like how Kern wrote them. It has been a while since I've seen S8.
Not a story, but I did love how the sisters looked in S8, they all had pretty hair. That's about it for me. LOL
S8 had lots of good ideas, and I wasn't against the idea of Christy, just they really didn't do a good job of it. And, I don't get why they didn't strip her powers, or try to save her, or these questions were not discussed as options by the sisters at least.
Instead of that fireman who dated Piper (forgot his name). I'm surprised, they didn't bring back Dan instead. Not that it would have been written well at all, and I hated how Piper treated Dan. But I'm still surprised they didn't use him, actually I am, as that would be another reason to mention Prue, as Dan was part of that era of Charmed. And Prue was like not mentioned at all in S8, except the finale.

If anything from season 8 like Es said I would say watching Wyatt too.
He was funny and cute that year.
The other storylines were just err to me. If you're gonna fake your death do it probably and not half-assed like the sisters did and mean it obviously.
Training Billie had potential but was poorly written. And the sisters shouldn't have used her to do their dirty work also.
Coop shouldn't have been sent to Phoebe because of the pain the Elders caused her as she didn't deserve him then her personality and disregard for innocents.
And Christy should've been toted as an innocent and the Charmed One's the ultimate evil the way they acted of course.

I am subscribed to der450's Youtube Channel who are currently uploading snipits of remastered 1080 16:9 Season 8 episodes. They have heaps of great remastered clips from earlier seasons too.
But watching Season 8 in remastered format really makes me like the Season a lot more than I used to when and post it was aired.
Phoebe is still PhoeMe but its aLOT better than Season 6.
Season 8 does have this "Desperate Housewives" format vibe to it. Which isn't original for Charmed but it reminds me of that era of TV shows.
By Season 8, people had forgotten the 90's where it came from.
Anyhow, I Only love Season 1 - 4 but
I changed mine from "still dislike" it to "disliked and now like". Not LOVE. but LIKE
1. Best acting performances of the three actresses since Season 4. 2. Its fun to now watch Kaley Cucco in Season 8 now, even though Billie is still annoying 3. Phoebe is still PhoeME but I kinda feel sorry enough to feel pity for her. After all, she's been through A LOT. 4. Paige and Henry 5. The chemistry and acting performances between HMC and Brian Krause - body swaps, when Leo is frozen and Foreever Charmed too. 6. The wider family vibe is around. Grams appears at the beginning and end. Same as Victor. Patty comes back. Even Sam. 7. The manor explosion and homage to the Grandfather Clock! 8. Some of the men in this season are the sexiest. Henry, Coop, Drew Fuller, Dex, Hotter minion demons. Even Leo! 9. Still ahead of Season 6, by a lot ( I hate season 6 ) and behind Season a tie between Season 5 and 7 - they are just as bad as each other - but I still LIKE them. 10. Paige and Henry is the highlight of the whole season.
