Based on my earlier poll, but wondering about just Season Eight now.
What was your reaction towards Season Eight the first time you watched it and what is your reaction now? Just choose one choice.

Just finished my Charmed all over again marathon. I watched every single episode, 1x01 till 8x22 and God I've changed my mind about season 8. Back then I was sort of confused and I didn't like it that much, now I love it! I understood so many things about the sisters, things that (aside from the fictional magic world) because of my age and personal issues now I'm feeling strongly related to, things that make a lot of fans hate S8, fans who IMO share Christy's mentality on how the Charmed ones should be and act. If there's something I fully hated while watching this season was precisely Christy and her mentality. I swear I wanted to become a magical creature to kill her with my own powers! LOL! I am aware that some fans could probably dislike my views, maybe even hate me for going against the flow, but I assure you that my intention will never be to attack other fans, nor say I'm right and you/they are wrong. I respect all your opinions, this is just the way I see it.

I've only watched it once - the first time it aired. Couldn't stand any of the characters in that except for Henry and Little Wyatt and never had any desire to watch it again, so I voted I still hate it.
But reading other comments, I can't help wonder if I should give it another try...

I have to admit dear - I know this season is so hated. I know I didn't like it when I first saw it. But I do love Paige and Henry - perhaps my hate on this season would be better if I just stop at Kill Billie Vol. 2 and not watch Forever Charmed which I dislike so much.
I might give it another try one day and perhaps have my family watch it with me.

It's been years since I watched it, but I'm willing to try it one more time. Although the things that I dislike about the later seasons aren't just that the storylines changed, but that the entire tone of the show did as well. It's literally brighter than the first four seasons, and the whole thing just feels different, no matter what's happening with the stories and characters. But I will give it another shot and see what I think.

It is not an exceptional season but blends well drama and humor I love the birth of the grandfather role of Victor and his bond with the children It is hard to imagine him as a grandfather of nine children so beautiful ishis link with Wyatt and Chris I love the story between Paige and Henry I love Piper finally turned into the matriarch of the Halliwell's, strong, decisive, so smug to resemble finally Prue I love Leo human again, a sweet daddy I love Phoebe trying to be a big sister for Billie I love Christy, finally a smart and strong evil witch I love the final battle and the Manor exploding, and if it was over in this way,it would have been a better season

I'm still not happy with this season, I have to admit, yet some parts I can understand though. In my eyes, Billie got too much attention and all that stuff, with her sister being the Ultimate Power and all. I know that Billie should be part of a Spin-off but where was all the other stuff what we were used to from the show? The end was then rushed too much.

I might consider giving it another try. Maybe the idea of Billie and Christy was a neat idea for the ultimate big bad's but executed badly. I can't help but wish they made them a pair of 3 sisters (with a third Jenkins) and warlocks. That would of been a much better series ender. But after turning pairs of sisters or brothers into villains of the week - they missed that chance.
Unlike some here I didn't think the whole purpose of Billie and Christy was that bad. Just not done properly. I wished they had Christy be a warlock and trying to get Billie to join her and become one too.
I did like a few episode's in the season here and there. Paige and Henry had a nice storyline. I just hated the Phoebe/Coop material and many episodes full of continuity errors.
Even if I did like that Piper and Leo got a happy ending and all the familiar faces. I didn't feel Forever Charmed needed to bring back so many family members. Maybe not have Grams and Patty come to the present and return once they set the timeline on track. Oh man did they go overboard. I would of much preferred seeing Darryl once more time and seeing Henry and Victor getting more to do.

Well, I am 50/50. Back then, I had high hopes for this season, and didn't feel it lived up to what it could be. Today, I look at it as giving Paige a good story ending with Henry. I still disliked that she didn't take up that social worker job again.
But if you watch the season through the eyes of Paige, and ignore the other sisters. You might just enjoy it.

Mixed feelings, I did enjoy some parts of it. Maybe if I can look past Forever Charmed, maybe I can enjoy it. Maybe I can just stop at Kill Billie Vol. 2 and pretend what happened after didn't happen. Maybe my enjoyment would be better. Just maybe.

I'm rewatching Season 8 and think I am enjoying it better than Season 7.
I feel like Witchness Protection and most things post Scry Hard to the finale were good. But Leo is still at the centre of most of the storylines and Piper is a complete drag!
Whereas with Season 8, I actually find it enjoyable to watch. Its a pity the slashed the budget because I think it could have been a great season. nothing like Seasons 1 - 4 but it could have been the 5th best?

But just up until the episode where Billie and Christy are revealed as the ultimate power. For one, phoebe wasn't so deep into her "Ask Phoebe" column as she used to so we got some of the old phoebe back. The phoebe that loved casting spells that often backfired "Payback is a Witch" and loved to help around with magical issues. "Vaya Con Leos". She still obsessed about having a baby though. Then there's Paige dealing with a real relationship and fully coming into her own, having her own dependent free life apart from her sisters. Piper is still the obsessive protective piper but now she focuses her obsession in the right direction after Leo is temporarily removed from the equation And all the funny episodes like "12 angry Zen" , "Repo Manor", "The Last Temptation of Christy" (Paige and Simon) and the ones where they drive Agent Murphy crazy and he has a hard time dealing with the existence of real magic and demons.

Maybe had this *not* been the final season, and just a regular season and Paige and Phoebe were not forced into relationships to wrap the show up dear. I think it might hold up better. Maybe if they handled Billie and Christy's story better, didn't introduce Coop, only had Paige dating Henry, with just them together in the end, and no flashforwards. It might be received better dear. I have to admit, it is a better season than season 6. Although, I still have my issues with it.

They made a mistake choosing Kaley Cuomo to impersonate Billie
She'ld be a nice Bridget, a perfect Penny but never a good Billie Jenkins
Billie'ld be more sweet, more pushover, less nosey, never a dumb blonde
I never understood why Phoebe'ld think of Billie as a friend and not as a fickle pain in the neck

I didn't think season 8's trouble was just because it introduced Billie and Christy into the series. The arc had potential to be fantastic, just a few problems they faced with writing.

I love rewatching Season 8 because of Leo, Paige and Henry. On the whole it wasn't executed well. The ideas were great. Rose McGowan saved this season.

I liked Christy a lot: cold, evil, she had no qualms about her own parents A big evil, equal to Zankou or Nicholas as ability to fool the sisters

Its still awful. The severe budget cuts are so noticeable, the few sets they have, the lack of any real demonic looking demons, Phoebe's huge lack of premonitions, Piper not freezing much, the loss of Brian Krause, the addition of Miss "I can't make crying look good to save my life", it was a mess.
BUT there are a couple of positives. First and foremost. Paige. Paige. Paige and Paige. Thank God for her in this season along with Henry. Second of all is that despite the lack of budget (which I think is why they ended up just making two ordinary looking witches the big bad), it actually had a coherent story, far more cohesive than season six.
The one thing that will forever make me hate this season though is Paige not remembering that she was present during the vanquishing of The Source. You'd think someone would have said, "Um but she was there?" but nope. Unforgiveable.

The one thing that will forever make me hate this season though is Paige not remembering that she was present during the vanquishing of The Source. You'd think someone would have said, "Um but she was there?" but nope. Unforgiveable. I agree with all you said. On the topic of Paige not remembering the Source vanquish, I had put out a theory a year or so back on another forum but a lot of folks didn't buy into it. My theory was that after the power brokers in season 4x16 "the fifth Halliwell" infected Paige, she ended up forgetting way more stuff than just what had recently happened after she was infected. I figured it was due to Cole accelerating Paige's infection magically. Cole had told the seer he would accelerate her slide and push her past fear into paranoia. Which he did and Paige almost died. Then when the seer confronted Cole at the end about saving Paige, he mentioned that Paige had no memory and wasn't a threat. Which could also mean that Cole made doubly sure Paige had no remembrance of him being the Source or being able to link the Sources vanquish and powers back to him including her pondering question she had about what happened to the Sources powers after his vanquish. Remembering questions like that could trigger her memories. For it was Paige who asked the question in "charmed and Dangerous" about where the Sources powers went and the seer said "into the void". Cole I'm sure couldn't risk her remembering those things. That's why Paige couldn't even remember meeting the innocent Karen that day even though Paige met her way before she got infected. That's why pipers was so surprised Paige had no recollection of Karen. When Paige said "do we know her?", pipers reaction was "wow! Your memory really is shot!". So my theory was that Cole ensured all those events were erased, all the events of that day with the power brokers and Karen, including events relating to vanquishing the source and him absorbing his powers.
