Matthew? Who in the dead gods of Krypton is "Matthew"? Matthew's a boy from the flash-forward scene where Leo's at Not!warts: You can call her Princess Consuela Bananarama, for all it counts. The fact remains that Mystery Girl has no canon name. Sorry folks, blame Brad Kern, not me. I know the budget for S8 was tight, but how much would paying that child actor to address Piper and Leo as "Mommy" and "Daddy" have set them back? It's strange. As much as Kern wanted Piper to have a daughter, why did he seem so hesitant to have any direct references to Mystery Girl actually BEING Piper's daughter in the episode? No name, no lines, no nothing.

Well, now Hannah (along with Rex) has her own Wikia site. Take that, Mystery Girl Just one line, Mystery Girl calling Piper "Mommy." would have settled it.

Just one line, Mystery Girl calling Piper "Mommy." would have settled it. Or, even just a line in Piper's voiceover about her finally having the daughter she had wanted to have ever since meeting little Melinda in the alternate 2009. That would've been enough. Of course, better would've been for that stupid flash-forward to be scrapped. Did we REALLY need to see how many kids each sister popped out?

As I have said, that flash forward could have been left on the cutting room floor and nothing significant would have been missing. All that flash forward did was effectively sink the Charmed franchise.

Not to mention they couldn't have been bothered to hire a woman to stand alongside Wyatt & Chris making the potion in the future when Piper mentioned the "next generation taking over."

And, what horrible implications that scene sends if the boys really do have a sister; they get to go out and kick demon @ss, while she has to stay behind at home. As if her being the youngest (and probably weakest, since Leo would've been mortal when she was conceived) sibling wasn't already enough. What year is this, 1890?

Well, the show was run by man who fired his lead actor because she was a woman who was not afraid to speak her mind. So, yeah, in Kern's mind, it was 1890. Get into the kitchen and rattle those pots and pans, you silly woman

The only sister who ended the show single and childless was the one who died 5 years before its end.

Another reason that flash forward should have been left on the cutting room floor. What a message to put out in 2006!

I can't be bothered contending with the quote thing tonight...
One person said it could be Ladybug. In response to that I point out that it was a different child actor. We don't see her face for long at all, but it's long enough to know that it's not one of the girls we just saw with Phoebe. The girl in Piper's clip was played by Kathleen Scott and she is quite clearly not the same actor as we see in Phoebe's bit. Why would they get two different girls to play one character for a matter of seconds in the flashforward when they were already hemorrhaging money?
Didn't realise how heated a topic this was. I barely care about Wyatt, never mind the rest of 'em! The OP asked a question, I answered using what I personally think is visibly insinuated and backed up by the show runner's/writer's audio commentary. People want to believe something else, hell go for it.

Am more convinced than ever that Kern inflicted that flash forward on us to screw the Charmed Sons campaign over. There is no way he could not have known about it. I mean Lisa and Donna (the founders of the campaign) had a mobile bill board parked outside of CBS/Paramount studios, where Charmed was being filmed. You want more proof of how much Kern hated the TCS Campaign, watch this video. It was part of the Special Features for the Season Eight DVD's. It's an interview with majro fans (including Andrea Haag, Aretha, and Misty, who used to be Admin here). One of the fans interviewed is Lisa, one of the TCS founders, but you wouldn't know it by this video. Every reference she made to the TCS campaign was cut out!
Kern really hated the TCS campaign, it seems.

It's economy, Tim!
Supernatural took TCS place, I know that Kripke was working on this project for 10 years, ma as I wrote in another topic, the theme of two brothers is a classic
When Burge suggested to Spelling Production the Charmed story, the protagonists 'ld be three university students who, living together, become witches and begin to fight evil, as in The Craft movie Duke Vincent didn't like the similarity with the movie and suggested that the protagonists were three sisters who were witches
Same fate for Supernatural: Kripke was thinking of a series of two reporters who travelled chasing demons, but the production didn't like the idea of reporters, so Kripke opted for two brothers, a classic topic
Who knows, maybe Kripke got the clue from TCS fans
