I'ld prefer one power each and stop, there were a lot of show with powerful heroes, I love magic and I loved the Power of Three, the potions, the spells
Prue was able to move objects with her mind, astral projection, move herself with the thought, it was more than enough as development, this'ld also allow her to travel along the astral planes, as Cole
Piper, the most quiet of the sisters, got from Melinda and Patty a power that'ld turn in an offensive power, because if you can immobilize the moleculers, you can also hasten them In theory, a so great offensive power requires a calm and always in control nature and the shy Piper was the right sister..till Prue's death
Phoebe'ld have to turn like the Seer, her powers about past and future vision could grow up to be able to enter in the visions
I don't like empathy and telepathy, these are two very different powers, the sisters have a bond reverberated from these two powers, it's enough
As for Paige, she has the witch power to tip into the Power of Three, but she, as Chris, has whitelighter powers Perhaps those who have a father whitelighter, they have whitelighter powers and Wyatt is different because of the magic day of his birth

I was thinking, we're always so focused on progression of individual characters' powers that we forget the whole Power of Three thing.
Triggering a mute Paige's power to orb Wyatt to safety, almost reading each others minds when their senses were stolen by the Crone, sensing whether one is dead or just trapped in a ghostly or some other plane, having shared dreams are some of the instances I can recall. But I would've really loved for them to develop on this more.
When Prue and Piper vanquished Shax, is it possible they accessed the P03 even if Phoebe was in the Underworld? Also in accessing each others powers, what should be the conditions? Paige couldn't speak, so her sisters spoke for her to orb Wyatt away from Crone. Would it be possible for a panicked Prue to access a dying Piper's freezing powers to freeze the crowd in AHBL? Or somehow freeze Piper herself?
While being stuck in Ghostly Plane, it seemed like Piper gained a sixth sense, knowing where Phoebe would be. Also in season 2 when Prue was stuck with War in another plane, she was the one who realized it was Prue. Could Piper access Phoebe's premonition or Prue's TK or astral projection accidentally too? Especially while dreaming?
Would've been interesting if the explosion powers actually belonged to Prue, but Piper ended up being the one to trigger and access it for herself. Or even astral projection actually being Phoebe's original power but since Prue was the one who needed two of her due to her hectic life, she accessed it. Heh.
The show never really dealt with how the Power of Three would affect each others' powers. Besides the whole fighting and using their powers on each other in rage.

This is all a bit confusing to me, but I definitely agree that I would've preferred if their powers had remained their original ones (no astral projection, levitation, explosions, empathy, orbing, glamouring, healing, meaning Paige would only have TK like Prue, etc.) and instead the Power of Three became more powerful as they became closer or less powerful as their regular lives took over.
The idea that Piper's explosions could've been originally Prue's but one that Piper was able to trigger and access is a fascinating one and makes more sense. The same could be true with Prue's astral projection and Phoebe's levitation, that they might have originally been the others but that the other sister was able to access.
And I would've loved them to be able to gain either empathy or even telepathy with each other as they grew closer.
This also means that the second set would never be as powerful as the first, since their private lives kept getting in the way of them becoming as close as the first set.

I think the power progression could have been better. While I like the idea of them only having one power and it growing, I also like the idea of them having three powers: Melinda had three, so should they since it also enhances the power of three feel of the show. So in order to blend those two ideas together, I'd only progress the powers in a linear direction and no sister would ever have more than three powers.
Prue, with the power to move things with her mind, would have telekinesis or ability to move things that she sees; psychokinesis, the ability to move things that she cannot see; and finally, levitation, the ability to move herself.
Piper, with the power to stop time, would have immobilization or the ability to stop time in a certain area completely; deceleration, or the ability to slow down time in a more concentrated manner; and finally rewind, the ability to rewind time by a few seconds in a concentrated area.
Phoebe, with the power to see things with her mind, would have monitions, both retro and pre; astral projection, or the ability to see things she cannot see; and astral monitions, the ability to see things that her past or future self can see.
Paige, with the power to move things with her mind, would have apportation or the ability to move things to herself from a far away place; telekinetic apportation, the ability to move things that she can see in a manner of a teleportation; and teleportation, the ability to move herself to a far away place.
That's how I would do it. To me, that is a natural progression of each power, while staying true to the original definitions of the powers. I gave Paige apportation because it is still moving things with her mind, while also giving her something different than what Prue had. I also like how her power progression also mimics Prue's. That's how I would do it, but personally, if I could change everything, I think I'd give Piper deceleration right off the bat and have immobolization be the next power.

The same could be true with Prue's astral projection and Phoebe's levitation, that they might have originally been the others but that the other sister was able to access. Leo accessed powers like reversing time when he joined the Avatars, triggered by frustration at Piper not listening to him. As proven by All Hell Breaks Loose, Elders don't have the power to reverse time. But they can create time portals or send people to future. While I can buy Leo's healing powers being amplified so he could heal the dead, reversing time wasn't an amplification of his Elder power since Avatars killed him and could reverse time again without Leo. The sisters were also part of a collective like Avatars were, but mostly the only thing they amplified were their spells with Power of Three to kill demons.

It also keeps them from becoming *too* powerful (like Piper becoming the Power of One with her explosion) and the show boring.

Something I feel like alot of people miss when discussing the charmed ones power progression is:
1. Melinda had 3 powers that weren't related to each other. This means that other witches can have more than 1 ability. Especially if the witches in question are suppose to be the most powerful witches of all time. As individuals they need to AT LEAST have 3 abilities each. Rather they are related or not.
2. Melinda stated that with each generation that the witches in her line would become more powerful than the previous. This means each witch within the Warren line, charmed or not, should atleast be somewhat stronger than Melinda. People focus so much on the prophecy of 3 powerful witches that they ignore everything else stated by Melinda.
20 years(May Vary) is considered a generation. By time the charmed ones came into the picture about 15 generations had passed. So at minimum and I mean minimum they should have had atleast 3 powers like Melinda and there powers should have been stronger than Melinda's. Just like the new generation with Wyatt and Co should be more powerful then the charmed ones.
Although there are some exceptions. A witch who mates with a mortal, their child will clearly be weaker than someone who mates with another supernatural being. In most cases not all. Like Paige children is part Whitelighter/Witch/Mortal while Phoebe's is part Cupid/Witch. So although Paige married a mortal while Phoebe a cupid doesn't mean Paige children will be weaker.
So as far as each witch power progression I would say:
Prue: Telekinesis, Telepathy, Astral Projection
I feel as though with training her power should evolve further. Like her telepathy should start off with reading minds and then gradually with training allow her to place thoughts in people heads. Her Telekinesis should start off with her simply being able to move objects with her mind and evolve into Psychokinesis(Limited).
Mind you she should only get to to her evolved stages with practice and training. Like she isn't going to wake up one day and be able to do that stuff. Also her ability is clearly going to be limited to her mind when it comes to her Psychokinesis ability. Over use of her power will clearly fry her brain.
Phoebe: Premonition, Empathy, Multiplication, Levitation
Her Premonition ability should evolve with practice to deviation. The ability to know/locate stuff by touching it or being near it or thinking about it. Her Empathy power should evolve into, with practice, the ability to control peoples emotions. Kinda like what Barbas the demon of fear does. Like Phoebe could make someone feel an extreme emotion of fear. The reason for Multiplication would be to allow her to cast spells alone that would usually take the power of three to cast. Like she could split a portion of herself in away. Like Jekyell and Mr. Hyde.
Levitation would have been a gift from the elders. Nothing more, nothing less. She also could have gained some other abilities during her time on the dark side. Stole some other people powers through the Athame. I think it would have been a good way to remember her time with Cole.
Piper: Molecular manipulation, Absorption, Portal Creation
Molecular manipulation has alot of different uses. Speed up molecules to make them explode or melt, slow them down to make them freeze(As though time has stop or actually turn someone to ice) and to change the molecular structure of something or someone(Only when possible though). Meaning she could turn someone into stone/gold/Silver/etc. Not only that but with training she could manipulate her own molecular structure and go Diamond form like EMMA FROST from X men. Absorption would be like Rogues from X Men in the sense she can absorb energy only. Portal creation like Tyler in the Charmed verse.
She is really hard to peg. Most of these powers outside of Molecular manipulation came out my behind. They fit her power though.
Paige: Telekinetic Orbing, Telepathy, Astral Projection, Whitelighter abilities, Conjure the Elements
Telekinetic orbing because her telekinetic abilities would be enhanced by her whitelighter side. Her Telepathy would also be enhanced by her whitlight side. Given whitlighters have the ability to enter other minds. Astral projection because her power is like Prue. Like Prue with Practice and training her Telekinesis could increase to Psychokinesis.
Paiges whitelighter abilities would also be enhanced by her witch half. Her cloaking ability would be enhanced to the point of invisibility. Her glamouring would be increased to illusions. All her other whitelighter abilities too.
As far as her conjuring the elements the reason I gave that to her is because the evil Enchantress is apart of her. I don't think the Evil Enchantress is a past life. She is more like Leo. In a sense he was reincarnated into a whitelighter. His WW2 self is still apart of him though. The reason Paige and the Evil Enchantress look just alike while Prue, Phoebe and Piper past lives souls only looked alike not their physical form, is because Evil Enchantress isn't a past live of Paige. She is Paige in a sense. There was a reason Paige could tap into the Evil Enchantress powers and had similar memories to the Evil Enchantress.
Paige also showed some premonition abilities during the Titan/God episode that I personally liked. However I am not 100% sold if I would keep it or not. It could be that her witch half increased her whitlighter ability to sense things. So instead of just feeling things she could physically see it.

I would progress their powers differently for sure. Prue would only be telekinetic, the astral ability didn't seem at all connected to moving objects with her mind. I would give Prue levitation and enhanced agility, which she practically had in season 3, eventually developing telekinetic blasts like in Morality Bites. I'm actually a fan of Piper's powers advancing, the explosion power made sense, and made her the most powerful in fighting demons one on one after Prue's death. The only change I would make is the over reliance on it to the detriment of her freezing power. To be fair, her powers never seemed time based, as she never actually stopped the flow of time, only freezing small spaces and objects. Phoebe would begin with premonition, and would eventually be able to get premonitions of pages of the book to see whatever demon of warlock is in question. Later Phoebe would gain the ability of psionic blasts, sort of like the Morality Bites ability, where she acts as a battery constantly absorbing psychic energy and is able to release is to incapacitate or stun enemies. Paige would only have orbing and telekinetic orbing, eventually healing, but her overabundance of whitelighter abilities made her overpowered imo.

Considering that orbing is basically a form of teleportation, I don't see how there could be a power called telekinetic orbing. Both telekinesis and teleportation is the moving of an object with one's mind. In the case of each ability, it is done in a different way. Amen. The reason why I hate those fancy names and why I'm glad that Charmed never used any of them on the shows and Paul Ruditis won't use them in the comics. I really agree with both of you here. I know that technically Leo did offer an explanation of Piper's powers being molecule based, but to me the blowing things up have confused me because I always viewed Piper's powers as being more time based and not really molecule based. In my mind it would have made more sense if Piper eventually got the power to rewind time (in small bursts, not like the Avatars or Tempest).

Maybe if she did astral project to the past, she would be more of a ghost in terms of being unable to touch things... I'm into this.

I was thinking something similar-ish, as of late. I wanted their powers to remain true to their original power. My IdeasPrue - Telekinesis/Levitation & Super StrengthShe's able to move things with or without her eyes or hands. She does this (with or without her eyes/hands) a couple of times (not a lot), in the show. She does this, in the following episodes: - S1E1 "Something Wicca This Way Comes" (she TKs the creamer, to her without actually looking at it, though it's within her line of sight)
- S2E13 "Animal Pragmatism" (she TK opens the door, to the Phoebe's classmate's dorm room without actually looking at it, nor used her hand and is actually talking to Phoebe, the whole time, as the door opens, despite it being within line of sight)
She move things that are in her line of sight or not (similar to Max, in S1E14 "Secrets & Guys"). We've seen some (not a lot) of her moving things that she couldn't see, like in the following: - S1E1 "Something Wicca This Way Comes" (she, unknowingly, strangle TKs Roger, with his tie)
- S1E7 "The Fourth Sister" (she TKs the door, to insinuate Aviva left, through them, so Andy and Leo don't suspect any oddity)
- S3E5 "Sight Unseen" (she's TKing herself free, from her restraints, that Abby put her, under, though she never did this with Bane in S2E15 "Give Me a Sign", in a similar situation, but I digress)
Prue should be able to "re-shape" things, telekinetically, for example, bending a spoon or crushing a rock. This would lead into her having "super strength". IMO, whatever she can do with her TK, she can do, herself without TK. Then, I'll concede that the narrative that Prue is "the strongest" will ring true. "Super strength" DOES follow her TK roots. In turn, her excuse for AP "if I can move things with my mind, why not body?" should be for Levitation, as it's the only power, that makes sense, for that line. Piper - Freezing & Keeper of TimeI like the idea of Piper being the "Keeper of Time" but (also) the one to freeze things. Instead of P. Bowen having the ice blowing breath thing, seen in S2E14 "Pardon My Past", it'll be P. Baxter, so Piper can evolve into that. That ability always fell more in line with Piper's "freezing" abilities, than Prue's "TKing" abilities. Piper will be able to shoot ice/coldness from her hands, similar to how P. Russell did with her fire throwing, instead of through her breath like P. Bowen. She can even freeze people in her typical way or how her "Warlock" self did, in S3E13 "Bride & Gloom", in ACTUAL ice! Or, "slow down" people like Cole does in S5E1 "A Witch's Tail, Pt 1", with the gunman, at the restaurant, Darryl was eating at. And, I like the idea that she can turn back time. She wouldn't need the silly brick wall, in S5E8 "Witch in Time", or Coop's ring, in S8E22 "Forever Charmed". Heck, she can even help save Prue! LOL Phoebe - Premonitions & EmpathyI've always wondered what ability Phoebe had, in the future of S2E2 "Morality Bites". Obviously, she DID have Levitation, even in THAT future, but she was able to shoot purple electricity, in Cal Greene's head. I think her Premonitions AND Empathy can work, similarly to the Furies' powers (in S4E3 "Hell Hath No Fury"), in a more active form. Basically, she can force her victims to re-watch all the horrors they caused, with her Premonition power and make them feel, through her Empathy, ALL the pain and agony. She can still have passive forms of these abilities, but this is my headcanon on how future Phoebe killed Cal Greene, in S2E2 "Morality Bites" future, and the purple electricity is just a visual effect, of her using this ability in an active manner. Making her line "what did I do, premonition the man to death?" that much darker. Paige - Telekinetic Orbing/Astral Projection & Healing/GlamouringSimilar to Prue's powers, minus the "super strength". In S4E2 "Charmed Again, Pt 2", when "evil" her called for the dude's heart, she could easily do this to a demon arm or something. Paige can ONLY TK-Orb things she can see (she can use her hand or head, to direct the objects, as usual), unlike Prue. She can ONLY "Go Away Orb" (like, when she sends Phoebe back home from Magic School, in S7E8 "Charmed Noir"), if she's been to that destination, before. Paige would be the one with AP (but only to places, she's been at, before), as its an "enhancement" to her "Glamouring" ability. Unlike canon Prue, she can be awake, as she's APing and can TK-Orb things in AP form. She just doesn't have "super strength" and can heal, too. Paige can only AP into one more duplicate, of herself. She'd be able to heal herself and others. She can't heal illnesses, though. She won't be able to heal Piper's Oroya Fever! Sticking with ONLY demon inflicted injuries, where the magic will PURPOSELY NOT heal a papercut nor illnesses and ONLY demon (or evil, like a bad witch/warlock) inflicted wounds. All I can really think of, for now. I could always change my mind, later LOL

I could always change my mind, later LOL I enjoyed reading this! These ideas were brilliant, and I admire how unique they were; my favorite was Piper, and I wonder how great it would've been if her freezing power was truly either time-based or literal ice.

I don't want to take credit for the "Keeper of Time", as I was inspired by the poster I quoted. The show really did confuse Piper's power. The pilot made it timed base but varying episodes made "freeze" base via S3E13 "Bride & Gloom".

This would make a heckova lot more sense - powers that actually come from their original powers, not ones that really don't make sense with them. It also keeps them from becoming *too* powerful (like Piper becoming the Power of One with her explosion) and the show boring. Agree with this definately. Yes, I agree with these statements as well! Psychokinesis always sounded like a unique ability, and it's surely one that was solely created for the show, since it's not a power widely known outside the universe; this would've been a great opportunity for Prue to have a moment to reflect on her time with Max Franklin who also had the gift, and possibly open the door for her to interact with him again and learn a tip or two. I've always enjoyed the idea that Prue could use her telekinesis to fly, or even levitate-- I've seen so many iterations of the power in the media, and majority of them introduce flying as a feat of the ability.
I 100% advocate for keeping Piper's powers time-based! I wonder who's idea it was to introduce combustion, because there's just too many references to time that would lead anyone to believe that's what her power was connected with. I love the idea of her rewinding time by a few seconds, as so many things can happen in a matter of seconds .
Pre/Retomonitions are so powerful in a variety of ways, and clearly Charmed thought so too, hence why Phoebe had the most in that season alone! I, too, would want to keep her visions apart of her, and a power that she'd truly nature, and save the day again. Astral Projection wouldn't have been bad for Phoebe, and in fact it'd have been interesting; and I can imagine how many times Phoebe would be able to Astral Project and kick some a**! I was just talking to Prue's Feather about Phoebe's astral premonitions, and I think that her power should've been showcased and utilized more after it was introduced, as she can search for clues or talk to someone who isn't around anymore, or who she may not know but will know, or something. It's an incredibly unique power.
I've always wondered what Paige could do if her abilities weren't infused with whitelighter powers, and my mind always circles to telekinesis, but I always wanted to find something different. I really love what you decided to go with for her powers. I'm not sure what you envisioned visually, but I think of Mabel's red apporition of the knife in S5's "The Power of Three Blondes". I think I'd probably keep it at just that, and maybe I'd add projection as a secondary ability.
I'm doing something similar-ish in my mind:
Prue - Telekinesis | Telepathy | Mind Control
So, I love Prue's telekinesis, and I'd always keep it. However, I want to expand on it, and I know that the show didn't have the best budget, but there's a few feats of TK that I would include if I could have done it better: I'd have Prue be able to fly & generate a force-field, and I feel like she'd ultimately utilize a combustion-type of feat with TK; even Piper suggests Prue do this in S2's "The Devil's Music". This may be seen as a completely random ability coming out of left field, but I have a feeling that Prue could've been given another mental-based ability, since telekinesis and astral projection both seem to be mental abilities; and even if she would never have gotten it, that's what I'd do if I could've done it better; I love these moments where she senses things, like her mom's prescence in S1's "From Fear To Eternity", and sensing Shax in "All Hell Breaks Loose", and dreaming of the ice cream truck in "We All Scream For Ice Cream"-- I feel like on some level, this could be a telepathic thing. Mind control feels like a berry on the same branch as telepathy, as they're both about thoughts, whether it's intruding a thought or introducing a thought.
Piper - Time Control | Time Jumping | Teleporting
"Timing, feeling, and the phasing of the moon" is what Phoebe said about their magic and abilities, so I naturally assumed Piper's powers were time-based. If I could have done it better, she'd be a time witch. I love how the show hindered her ability by restricting it to a minimal space and limited time, and I can imagine that her power would grow to freeze a larger space for a longer amount of time; not to mention selectively freezing people, objects, body parts; I think she'd also be able to control the speed of time, and manipulate it backwards or forwards-- I don't consider these separate abilities, but mere feats of her time control power. I think a secondary power that would be progressive to her first power would be time jumping--not to be confused with manipulating the current space of time forwards or backwards or even to a specific period in time, but removing yourself from that current space in time, and traveling to another space. I can imagine a hindrance would be emotional-based, as maybe she can't jump unless her life depends on it, or the opposite. Lastly, as a way to give her a physical ability that's not directly tied to time, is teleporting. I always see a connection with time & space, so why not give Piper both of those applications, especially if she can already remove herself from time.
Phoebe - Pre/Retro-minitions | Empathy | Astral Projection
There's been plenty of times where Phoebe's visions have introduced a problem to solve or saved the day, and they've been said to be one of the most coveted powers, just ask Jane I'd keep her visions and expand on them, allowing her to call for visions, or see someone/an object's history/past, and I'd want to include her clairvoyance more, just having a natural sense of what's coming & expand on her psychic connections. I feel like Empathy was introduced to the show in an odd way that made me feel like witches can't be empaths, but disregarding that, if I could have done it better, I'd keep empathy as just feeling emotions, and maybe progressing to projecting emotions on someone. Astral projection is just a unique ability both in and out of the Charmed universe, and I love how innovative Connie was at making it her own. I think Phoebe would benefit from this power, ensuring that she'd be able to stop something from happening or save an innocent, or just being somewhere before it's too late. I think a progression of this power would be to include the astral plane more, and not fudge these planes of existence together; I'd want to keep ghosts on the astral plane, and erase the ghostly plane, so that Astral Phoebe could vanquish evil spirits.
Paige - Apportation | Projection | Healing
If I could have done it better, I, too, would erase Paige's whitelighter abilities. I'd want to suggest that her abilities are inherited in the Warren line, and it can totally be a head cannon since there's roughly 15 generations-- whose to say the abilities I gave her didn't run in the family at some point? Apportation would be a nice ability, as it keeps it witchly, but differentiates it from Prue's power. With projection, there's not too many ramifications that I made to this power from the show, which is another reason I erased a teleporting power for Paige; she could possibly project herself somewhere. Healing was a last-minute addition.. I was thinking about powers, and thinking about something that's not as active and powerful as apportation and projection, and then healing popped in my mind. To keep it not OP at all, she can only heal minor injuries..
I love what I was able to come up with, but honestly, any of you all's ideas would've been satisfactory to see!

Keeping Prues power physical, Pipers time-oriented and Phoebe's more passive/mental is great.
