Maracev, before you hoist me on your personal Leo and Piper guillotine, please bear in mind that I was responding to ljones' comment. My own view is that none of the sisters is perfect. Gosh, if they were, I would probably hate the show. Indeed, their flaws provide them with the necessary hue to make them seem just like the kind of people we'd like to have as friends or family. That's all! Now, is it safe for me to stick out my neck?

Oh, don't worry. I know neither is perfect and I even said it myself. It's just fun to argue.

I do agree with most of the examples VG pointed out. Especially the points about Piper being unnecessarily bossy toward Leo. Of course, Leo has his own annoying quirks, himself... Although I didn't really find Piper to be all that overprotective of Wyatt. Along with the demonic threats, she was constantly worried that Wyatt would use his magic in public, risking exposure. It probably won't be until Wyatt, Chris, and Melinda get older when they'll realize how detrimental magical exposure can be. As young infants/toddlers, they simply don't know any better. Now as Piper's children grow older and start to develop non-magical issues in their lives...oh boy! I already feel sympathy for poor Diana, when she and Wyatt fall in love. Imagine having Piper as a mother-in-law!

It's true, piper does let her anger get the best of her at most times. But to be honest, she had her reasons. I mean, she was the matriarch of the family. She had to be protective of Wyatt because demons kept coming after him, not to mention an elder. Piper also attack billie in Kill Billie Vol 2 because, well her sisters had just died. Ironiclly she's the one who always dies. The matriarch of the family? After Prue's death, she was the oldest sister of grown women. Who says that she had to be the "matriarch"? They were too old for Piper to act as some kind of mother to them. Neither Paige or Piper had ever learned that Cole had become possessed by evil. They thought that he had chosen to become evil. And this is also a major flaw of not only Piper's, but the entire family. They made assumptions without knowing the full truth. I may have missed this episode. Who is Diana?

ljones, you've got to step into whitelightertony's imagined world of all of the offsprings' partners. I mean Ezra? Who, on Earth, names their child Ezra?

Diana was the woman (witch/assassin) from the future who was with Chris, not Wyatt, but same principle applies.

Wasn't her name Bianca? I don't think Piper would make a bad mother in law, as long as the girl in question isn't out to kill her or her sons.

Her name was Bianca. And I don't know if Chris would have ended up with her in the changed timeline.

I don't either, seeing as how she seemed to be connected to Chris through evil ruler of the world - Wyatt

It's always possible that Bianca may not have grown up to be an Assassin (even though she was kind of born into it...)

Then it was entirely possible they never would've met in a different timeline.
But this is beside the point of Piper.
Back to Piper. During the first three seasons, she was a bit of a doormat and that sometimes annoyed me.

I believe the episode, "Power Outage" made it clear that she was a pushover, in regard to her sisters. And it obviously annoyed her.
But another aspect of Piper's personality that bothered me was her treatment of Paige. I think Phoebe may have been guilty of this, as well. Or perhaps the writers.

Piper's acceptance of Paige never bugged me. It took her quite a long time before she actually accepted her. I mean, she was closest to Prue and I can't see how she doesn't want to have another sister.
BUT the way she treated Paige when it came to Cole was just very, very, very bad. She should have trusted the instincts that she had about Cole. It makes me mad because Piper did the exact same thing to Prue (in "Sight Unseen").

Diana Vitti becomes Wyatt's wife in my future incarnation of the Charmedverse. Since Diana is half-nymph, half-Valkyrie, I can easily see Piper having some "issues" with her new daughter-in-law (at least, at first). Well, he comes from a family of oracles. Those oracles - - they're very traditional that way. Okay, let me step back for a moment and explain. Bianca is Chris's future lover, played by Marisol Nichols in the episode "Chris-Crossed." Yes, Future Bianca dies when Chris travels to the future....but that was an alternate future version of her. Bianca in the present-day is still alive, and her own future is most likely altered when Alternate Future Bianca tells Lynn (Bianca's mother) not to lie to her present-day self (by claiming she won't feel a thing when she kills). Assuming Lynn follows this advice from the alternate future adult version of her present-day young daughter, that means present-day Bianca may grow up embracing goodness (probably influenced by meeting Chris, in the new timeline) and rejecting her Phoenix-based inclinations to hire herself out as an assassin. Also, in The Book of Three: Vol. 2, it is revealed that Chris and Bianca marry in the year 2026, after Bianca chooses to embrace Good.

Bianca is quite a bit older than Chris, eh? Chris wasn't even born when "Chris-Crossed" happened but Bianca sure was! Anyway, age is just a number.

I find it odd that Piper's treatment of Paige never bothered you, except in regard to Paige's opinion of Cole in Season 4? That doesn't make any sense to me. Surely, if you were troubled by Piper's dismissal of Paige's suspicions about Cole, you would be troubled by Piper and Phoebe's constant dismissal of Paige as an effective witch overall?

Diana never actually appeared on the TV series. She is the woman whom Wyatt meets while at college and eventually marries, a product of my own warped imagination.
Wyatt and Diana also help to bring Chris and Bianca together, as they all attend UC-Venice Beach.

It just makes sense to me that right away Piper didn't accept Paige. She doesn't know anything about this girl. Sure, at first Piper was very reluctant but are you expecting someone who just lost their sister to go: "Hi, my name's Piper. What's your favourite television show?"
She had to first accept Prue's death before she could accept Paige into her life.
If anything, I'd have a problem with Phoebe's "okay, Prue's dead we have a NEW sister! YAY! Cole, let's make out" attitude. I found it hard to believe that Phoebe ever missed Prue. Piper yes, Phoebe no.
Heck, Prue had more of an effect on Paige than she did on Phoebe.
