True, Kern would of just ruined what The Fates represent. Like he ruins everything else

Like I've said, people have to watch when they mess with mythology because of how it comes off sometimes. For example, the Furies and Harpies seemed to be only like their mythological counterparts in name. I think the closest representations were the Siren/Banshee.
Is it not possible for Christy to vanquish a Fate? Or at least mess with one? After all, the Seer (Kira) didn't prevent her own death.

I agree with DrewsGal...I believe the Fates would have been an equivalent to the Angels of Destiny and the Angels of Death - - unvanquishable (the same way the Avatars should have been).

*sarcastic tone* Don't forget about the convenient vanquish potions created by some Egyptian cult!

how random and pointless!
* Falls to the floor in shock* Wow thats a first.
Maybe not like the Avatars, but definatly like The Angel of Destiny and Death. As the Fates would have extreme importance in the universe just the AOD and AOD, killing or messing with a Fate would screw up the universe. Kira was a seer, she wasn't really important to the consistancy of the World.

Since I brought up the Seer... what does everyone think it would have been like if Charisma Carpenter was added to the cast as Kira for season eight of Charmed?
I mean, I'm thinking that Christy would majorly view her as a threat and I also think that Christy would have seen her as an even bigger wedge between her and Billie. Kira was like Phoebe in a lot of ways and I think that Billie really related to Phoebe most. However, considering Kira wouldn't be a Charmed One I'm pretty sure that Christy wouldn't be able to think up a good enough excuse for why she's bad (well... there was the whole demon thing...).

Well, would Kira have been a powerless former demon-turned-mortal, or would she have remained as an evil precog?
At any rate, I think Billie and Kira would have gotten on each other's nerves.

Well, it would of been interesting if she had retained her Seer abilities, and could then warn Phoebe, whom she was close to in Season7.

Kira would have been a VERY good alternative to Billie/Christy. That's what I think at least. Charisma Carpenter just has that "je ne sais quoi" about her and she just brings an air of comedy and charisma to anything she's in (even when she was being evil Cordy).

Are we talking about Kira being made a regular in Season 8 instead of Billie, or being a semi-regular who would have helped the Charmed Ones prepare for the Final Battle?
If Kira had been made a regular, in absense of the Jenkins sisters, then who would have been Season 8's Big Bad?

The Triad probably. It seems like the intended Big Bad would have been the Triad anyway even if the Jenkins weren't present. I mean, the only reason the Jenkins were added were because of the WB's insistence on a spin-off character.

Well, let's see: Charisma would certainly not have helped with what the WB perceived as its weakness: attracting a younger demographic. Charmed fans were aging along with the Charmed Ones. Charisma simply appealed to those fans already watching the show. True, some might have come back. But, the point was to win new fans and create the possibility of a spin-off. Charisma presented the WB with neither option!

Charisma Carpenter could have been the spinoff option. It could have been that supernatural sitcom that Kern was looking for. Although, I don't see how bringing in Billie would bring in more younger viewers. I don't think younger viewers watch television shows just because some teenagers come on a show (or young actors). They come on because of the pubilicity behind it.

But, that's what the honchos at the WB thought: promotable hunk - the irrelevant Jason Lewis as Dex - and hot teen phenomenon - Kayley Cuoco - fresh off from 8 Simple Rules. It seemed like a perfect formula for success.

I think networks should have learned by now to trust their producers. I don't really ever recall the WB/UPN making any outrageous requests to Joss Whedon while he worked on Buffy/Angel (then again maybe that's just a secret).
I mean, whenever the "network" butts in and feels that they know what's best... they're usually wrong. I'm still bitter after learning that Fox denied a possible storyline involved Catwoman and Black Canary in the 90s Batman show because it didn't revolve around Robin. Apparently, they had this dumb rule about Robin. "Kids will only watch shows where characters are their age". WRONG! I don't think Kayley Cuoco brought in any new fans. In fact, the 8th season shouldn't have been about getting new fans. It should have been about paying tribute to the fans that made the show #1... well mabe not #1... but who made it popular.

Well, let's see. Considering the collective intelligence of Hollywood programmers and PR personnel could probably fit inside a grape, I am curious why anyone should find this shocking. Somebody greenlighted Viva Laughlin! Somebody greenlighted Emily's Diary (1 episode last year -- there were more billboards around LA than viewers I believe).

I like Christy more. She wasn't around as long as Billie was. :DOh, that's good!
