Could Phoebe and Cole have Lasted?

Then why did you respond directly to my post (which rebutted Pubesy's insinuating that all of the sisters acted the same way as Phoebe) if you didn't share Pubesy's perspective?

What was she supposed to do, stand idly by while the demons continued to target the Halliwells in the hopes of gaining favor with The Source?

Cole was in love with Phoebe, but at the end, he always broke her heart.

Ok, this is something that I feel quite strongly about, so Ill explore my feelings on the topic...

Cole loved Phoebe unconditionally. No matter what she did, she couldnt do any wrong by him, and lets remember Phoebe wasnt always the law obiding, perfect little witch when they were together.
However when it comes to how Phoebe felt about Cole, I think she loved him, but she just couldnt handle his demon side. She couldnt handle the fact that people have imperfections.

As for Cole always breaking Phoebe's heart, I think it was more of being the other way round. Yeah, when she first found out that he was a demon, I bet that hurt a little bit, but she was the one who continually pushed him away after they got back together. Plus she was completely arrogant when it came to season 5. It was obvious that he was trying to change, but she was just a b*tch with the way she treated him, causing him to then turn and go back to doing evil things.

Ultimately I think (even though they are my favourite couple) that they wouldnt have lasted very much longer.
With Cole becoming the Source, even though he tried his hardest to conquer this, it was just too much of a struggle for Phoebe, as she would have had to have killed him in the end anyway.

Lets face it. even when prue was alive, Cole and Phoebe still faught to keep there love alive, even though they both claim that those were the good days where they were so in love. But Phoebe was extremely Selfish. I just feel sorry for Coop. Poor Poor Nerdy little Coop

give her a break! she did fight heaps for cole. heaps. she lied to her sisters about vanquishing belthazor. she went against their approval, she kept him alive on several occasions. she even became queen of the underworld!

there is no doubt in my mind that phoebe loved cole!

phoebe was not arrogant in seasin 5. she was assertive. she ended it. she made a choice between cole and her sisters. she chose her sisters. and she would not back down on this.

if phoebe got back together with cole in season 5 her sisters would never have forgiven her.

POOR PHOEBE. No Poor Cole. She would not of lost her sisters if she had gone back to cole, they shoukd always support her. just like she suppported them on all them occasions.

I dont think "poor Phoebe" I think arrogant, non understanding, selfish Phoebe, always wanting things her own way, and because Cole wouldnt commit to just being a boring "house husband" as he was frustrated about in "Muse to my Ears" then she didnt want him anymore.

Cole also sacrificed his freedom, and Belthazar for Phoebe, dont forget. Phoebe just wouldnt stand him after finding out he was the Source. So yeah, maybe he was the Source therefore "naughty Cole" so to speak, but she didnt even attempt to ask him how he became the Source, and then, drove him crazy with her constant refusal even though he was trying to change, and infact had changed.

I dont think Coop is nerdy, but I dont think he was right for Phoebe.

Coop was right for Phoebe I agree! But, Cole I think since he's half-demon he can't handle his demon side because he's half demon! So, therefore it's not Cole's fault! It's the demon in him!

no, i dont think piper and paige have to support phoebe's decision to get back with cole in season 5. if they really loved phoebe, (which they did) they would tell her she is an idiot if she rekindles the relationship. they were looking outfor her best interests.
remember in long live the queen when phoebe thought she could be queen of the underworld AND a charmed one? both piper AND cole told phoebe she would have to chose between them. she chose her sisters.

(and, when it came to cole, phoebe did not always support her sisters decisions. she lied to them on several occasions to keep cole alive. to me it seemed that phoebe quite often chose cole over her sisters)

to see phoebe refuse to back down on on ending the relationship, no matter what cole tried, was refreshing. (a big kudos to her).
