Prue as a whitelighter would have given the Elders endless headaches by circumventing the Elders' ridiculous rules at every opportunity. They would have eventually had to clip her wings.

Yeah I have not seen all of Forever Charmed only the end scene with the Granddaughter however I read about this scene where Grams and Patty come back from what the 70's? to help Piper become an usual power of three to save Paige and Phoebe. I agree that Prue should have been there since this episode was supposed to be a reunion of almost all of the characters. I think it would have been great to see Prue again and to see Paige meet her.

I know SD could not have returned but I think that it would have been great to have Piper choose past Prue, and possible future Phoebe to get rid of the hollow. I loved how Piper and Leo saw thir future selves but I think it would have been great to have a member of the original power of 3 from differnet moments in time. Past Prue, Present Piper, and Future Phoebe, working together to save Piper's present. To me that would have DEFINITLY shown "Forever Charmed"

I think it's unfortunate that the focus of Charmed strayed so much in its 8-year-run. Even Buffy the Vampire Slayer stayed pretty true to its original concepts (despite going through high school, partly college and major relationships) the show was always about Buffy and her struggles through life.
With Charmed it went from sisters having to deal with their magic to Piper and Leo trying to figure out how to raise their kids.
The finale should have included Prue. Kern could have asked Doherty to return to the show (he didn't have to ask Victor, Patty and Grams to return). After all, the show wasn't about the great guest stars it was about Prue. As I've probably said before, I'd take Shannen Doherty over the various family members in the finale anyday.

Yeah I think the finale should have been about an entire family reunion especially all four sisters. I think Paige deserved to meet Prue and vise versa.

I don't think that Prue needed to meet Paige. I think that Piper just needed that gift. The poor girl's been through too much to not be able to see her damn sister again. She's a witch and she should get the perks of saving the world.
However, I do think it would have been a nice gift for Paige to meet her because she did suffer from a Prue complex for seasons 4-5.
Can't say much for Phoebe....... I'm not sure how she'd react. Of course, her reactions usually vary depending what boyfriend she's with.

I agree with all of this. I will always wish that Kern hadn't acted like such a jerk when he fired Shannen, so that she would've actually *wanted* to be part of the finale--truly all four deserved to be part of the finale.
And I still would've liked to have seen Prue as the next generations' whitelighter. Yeah, the Elders would've regretted it as much as they probably regret letting Piper & Leo marry just because the sisters saved their a$$es, but it would've let Prue continue to play the role within the family that she played so very, very well--keeping everyone on the straight and narrow and using their powers properly.
Either that or show that one of all of those daughters is actually Prue reincarnated. That would've been a way of letting Prue be part of it without Shannen's permission. I would prefer her being Melinda (or whatever Piper named her daughter), so that they could continue to be as close as they were as sisters. And I'd love watching the baby of that family boss around her older brothers, because you know she would've!

I don't think I would have ever wanted to see Prue become a whitelighter. I don't think that witches really need whitelighters. To me, Prue becoming one would be a step down.

I dont think she would have been as good character as she was. If she were to return, only in the odd episode would have been great, a bit lik Grams and Cole. I still think they should have brought her back for the last episode. It wasnt right without her.

What I would have loved to see, with no need of Shannen's permission would be... It would have to be in the very last moment. First of all, I wanted the show to end in the present, with the present day Charmed Ones. None of that future crap, I hated that. I wanted the show to end with Piper, Phoebe, and Paige walking to the manor door...Piper looking up into the sky giving a smile, then you would hear that tk swooshing sound representing Prue, who then shuts the door. That would be my perfect ending. Like mostly every other season, which ended with the closing of the manor door. That's how it should have been, in the present with all TCO's.

There are some episodes where I think Prue should have been present. I definately think she should have been at Wyatts wicconing.

O definitely, the picture bothered me greatly! But a picture of Prue would require the permission of SD, and my ending would not...I am glad to hear that you liked it!

OH!! I also love the idea of the wind! That would've been SOOO perfect! ESPECIALLY if you left out the !@#$%^&*()_+_)(*&^%$#@!@#$%^&*()_+_)(*&^%$#@! wall and let THAT--all three sisters at the door and then the wind blowing the door shut--be the ending! That would've been SOOO much better than JUST Piper & Leo going up the stairs. If ONLY Kern had handled firing Shannen better so the ghost of Prue could've been shown more often! No WAY they can convince me that Piper hasn't accepted the fact that she's dead yet!

Yeah. The ending should have been about the sisters. That's what the whole damn show should have been about. Yes, family was important but it was sisterhood that made the show special. It wasn't about Leo and Piper. Sure it was important in storylines but for God's sake it's called "Charmed" not "I Love Piper" (a little play on I Love Lucy there).

This is not quite true. Due to Paige, Brody realized that the Avatars were not responsible for his parents' deaths. But he did maintained deep suspicions that the Avatars and told the Halliwells. But they didn't listen and he turned to Zankou for help. He was killed, while trying to kill one of the Avatars.
Because his suspicions about the Avatars proved to be true, the Elders made him a whitelighter.

It wasn't about Leo and Piper. Sure it was important in storylines but for God's sake it's called "Charmed" not "I Love Piper" (a little play on I Love Lucy there). Exactly. As much as most of us love Piper and Leo, the last moments of Charmed were directed at them them, which should not have been. It should have been all of the Charmed One's, and the PRESENT day ones, as we knew them, who we've come to love over the past 8/5 years. Like you said, sisterhood was what made the show special. But sadly, the show drifted greatly from that, and at least for the last moments of Charmed, we deserved to see what formed our love for the show in the first place.

Just Like any other Prue fans out there I really wish she comes back as she was, I dont prefer her as a Whitelighter or a Ghost either. Still prefer her as a witch. Though it's impossible now... I think.
But I have this sort of idea:
A new evil power has risen, a very lethal witch rival of Melinda Warren, who sworn to destroy the Halliwell bloodline for good. But then Only The Original Charmed Ones/First three sisters can vanquish her. (No offense to Paige fans) I always prefer the OP3.
In this case, the reason that this certain foe is alive coz it needs to be vanquish. Then that's when Prue comes into the picture, I've been thinking along the story of Elektra (of Marvel from the movie) in which she was taken by a very discreet secret organization and trained her as one of theirs, but then they kept her hidden from the charmed and magical radars something like that to be develop. Since Prue is fond of martial arts it would be a great plot. And then she comes and reunites with her sisters to vanquish this evil. But as others stated there should only be three. It's either the OP3 or the ones with Paige. Or if not Prue could stand on her own as a Lethal demon hunter which could make a good spin off including guest from her famiy mebers.
Just my idea. Cheers!
