the charmed ones did not have to care about how cole was feeling in season 5 after cole and phoebe had split for good. the relationship was over.
phoebe made it clear on several occasions that it was over and she did not want any contact with cole after she had vanquished him. cole never told phoebe he was possessed. its not phoebe's responsibility to guess. regardless of whether WE or (cole or anyone else for that matter) felt phoebe had a right to end the relationship, she DID end it. Cole needed to respect that
but he didnt.
if that happened in the real world, a restraining order would be made. obviously that wouldn't work in the charmedverse.
the sisters had every right to tell cole where to go. wouldn't you if your sister was being harrased by her ex? that does not make them selfish or self absorbed.
cole was not an innocent. he had more powers than any other being. he should have been dead the first time!

Actually the charmed ones did have to care about Cole in S5. He was an innocent. And they Should probably care about innocents

But they wouldnt have thought of it that way, because they just saw Cole as someone who was evil and constantly annoying Phoebe. They didnt see that Cole was vulnerable and needed to be protected from whatever, because they dont see past their own noses sometimes.

I agree with you there! ;D Cole is half-demon it's not his fault he trys to be good but it's that demon that keeps on coming out!

How do you not see him as an innocent?
He is human (ish) and not harming anyone, just wants Phoebe back. The only time he does wrong is when Phoebe challenges him to try and get her to vanquish him.

Because Pubsey, Cole was in dire need of help. Okay he maybe not of been the typical Innocent, but a rose by any other name still smells as sweet, yes! He was a innocent.

how could he be innocent if he turned darryl into a water cooler? ;D are you talking about when cole was in the wasteland and phoebe refused to help in get out? i will admit, it seemed a bit harsh. i think phoebe was peeved that he wouldnt die! i think because he had that massive amount of power PLUS the fact he couldnt die PLUS the fact that he wouldnt accept the relationship was over and move on, (he just kept annoying phoebe,) made it quite easy for the girls to see him as a threat, rather than an innocent....and fair enough. i mean, what were they saving him from? himself?  |

needing help and being an innocent are two completely different things.
being innocent means you have done no harm. cole has done plenty.
how did cole need help? and what did he need help from?

A part from a therapist???
Cole had done alot of evil things, but everyone has a past. He was the victim of The Source, just as much as The Charmed Ones were. He did need help. Magical help that only they could give him. It's not like he could go to Dr Phill and say " sup Philly, can you help me with my demon past, and being possesed. Also Phil can you help me control my demonic powers. thanks Dr Phil your a great help"
they could of helped him. In Season 2 Prue helped a demon Ex. And a Demonic Priest who'd done evil. Why was cole any diffferent.

and how listening to him
all cole wanted to do was get back with phoebe. and phoebe did not want that. neither did the sisters, so how could they help to guide or support him?

Indeed, theyre supposed to be the protectors of the innocent, however, they didnt do much protecting of Cole. They didnt ask him if he needed help, they just hated him because he had "hurt" Phoebe, even though a great big fat majority of it was Phoebe hurting him, therefore they owed it him... Are we forgetting that Cole saved Phoebe's life at the end of season4?
If he didnt do that, Phoebe would have died, but then they would have still blamed Cole!

If they had taken the time to actually listen to him before condemming him to evildom then perhaps cole wouldnt of gone on to do what he did. Even you have to admit they were very unreasonable

he was phoebes EX. he wasn't a random off the street.
of course that clouded their judgement. and fair enough too.
i still struggle to see him as innocent and in need of protection. he was definately not helpless.

He was helpless. He was stuck in a world of madness that he couldnt escape. He had no one to turn to and no one to help him make sense of things. I feel so sorry for Cole. And yet he was the one bound in a world in between life and death.
