What annoys me about this is that the Charmed Ones and Leo went on to commit awful deeds or evil themselves. Phoebe and Cole were not opposite ends of the spectrum of good and evil. When it came to morality, they were quite similar - capable of committing both good and evil. Phoebe was too damn hypocritical and self-righteous (along with her sisters and Leo) to realize that she could be just as evil . . . and that she and her family proved that they could.

Cole was a mercenary demon for a lot of years, sorry, I'll be a common person, but I think that an hired gun'll be always different from good people who trip up

Like Leo's pacifistic tendencies did him any favours when he got himself shot by some Imperial Japanese soldier on Guadalcanal. I would also be careful around the sisters when it's their family at stake. Remember how they almost recited a spell that could have engendered the apocalypse? Or how about their incessant meddling in magical exposure, including the potential deaths of many when Piper dissipated the Golden Gate Bridge on TV for millions to see? That's not "tripping up". It's intentional damage precipitated by their willingness to throw every moral tenet they have away when it comes to their own kin.
Cole has probably taken an untold number of innocent lives and he deserves to pay for them. How? Perhaps by trying to make amends through good deeds, saving people. The sisters wouldn't let him do that, though. Should they be weary of him? Yes -- even if he is trying to turn over a new leaf, they should never forget what he's capable of. But at the same time, that doesn't justify throwing him under the bus and abandoning him whenever a situation that's less than golden rears itself involving Cole in some manner. They should have made a better attempt at giving him the benefit of the doubt.

How did it happen? In the beginning of season 4, Paige and Cole got along well, that is until the Source took over Cole. But even possessed, Cole managed to save Paige’s life in Fifth Halliwell. The Source hated Paige, but Cole didn’t. But what about season 5? How, when, where did the hatred develop that Cole ended up creating an alternate reality where Paige was dead? Cole disliked Paige even without the Source factor. This was because Paige was cold to him no matter how much he proved himself.

I think we're forgetting how much Cole made Phoebe suffer. She went through hell literally by marrying him and even lost her child...the writers may not have done a great job with it but that had to have affected her. I'm proud of Paige for sticking by her beliefs. Piper was kinda stupid to be honest. And honestly - are people crazy? Leo did a great thing by killing Gideon. He wouldn't have spared Wyatt otherwise. He would have found a way to track him down and given how high in ranking he was, I doubt the other Elders could stop Gideon or if they'd even want to. Murder may be wrong but Leo wasn't just punishing the guilty, he was protecting the innocent, in this case, his child. Plus what about Gideon murdering Chris?

S5 is a disservice to Cole. He should've never returned for S5. That's all I'm gonna say.

I think Cole maybe partially blames Paige for any chance of hope that he could reconcile his relationship with Phoebe and also his revert down the road in doing bad stuff again I guess cause Paige was sorta that voice of reason. I think she really hated him in season 4 for what he did to her when he was the Source and disliked him when she found out that he killed that woman's witch boyfriend which is funny she didn't make a big deal or dislike him after all the other innocents he killed when she used him to bait fury Piper but no she wasn't the main cause of why Phoebe and his relationship didn't work out.
