The inspiration for this poem came from many of my friends - including my dear Hollypop.

But if not, it's okay.. I still loved it. I brought tears to my eyes and the emotion was so truthful to the soul.

i wish i was talented like the rest of you but i thought i would post a poem which i made 3 years ago when i was 10

POVERTY

Imagine a world with no war just peace
No hunger just food as a feast
Imagine a world like Adams and eves
Just happiness and no grieves
In the Garden of Eden where the world is all great
That would be the world’s greatest fate
We could make this happen
If we all do are part
So come on be smart
Make a donation
Do something wild
Just help the world
For your future child
We can make a difference
Can’t you see?
All of us including
You and me

yes it is inspired by you in part and in parts by several other frnds that I have - i just pondered for a long time and the words came flowing!!

thx for liking it. I love it - its so simple and such a basic rhythm driving it yet to profound. LOL - now i am talking too much must be this 110 degrees heat or sumthng!!!

It's not rubbish! I think it's pretty good considering you were 10 when you wrote it. You should write again - give it another try. It might be hard at first (nobody knows better than me lol) but I bet you could come up with somethig really great.

It's not rubbish! I think it's pretty good considering you were 10 when you wrote it. You should write again - give it another try. It might be hard at first (nobody knows better than me lol) but I bet you could come up with somethig really great.

The pain within me reaches out
Heart ache beyond doubt
My pain fills head to toe
This I feel this I know

The words that you said
Keep running through my head
Like a never-ending tape
That I can never escape

Searching for a reason which doesn’t exist
Remembering the time when we first kissed

I have cried endlessly with out hope
How am I going to cope?

Dont know where it came from, or why. Well actually I do. I work at a call center, and they took away our trash cans, to save money (not having to buy trash bags for 400 trashcans). SO ME BEING ME, needed a trash can, I hate trash and I certainly dont wanna get up every 5 minutes to throw something away, I brought in my own. a cute little trash can I got at Walmart for only 98 cents. It sits on my desk all cute, n it needed something, so I wrote MY TRASH CAN! And theres my inspiration! Hope you all enjoy!

Thats my trash can,
get your hands off, this is my land.
That's my stuff,
my old ham,
my meal plan
and THAT, IS, MY CAN!

this is what the world is coming to,
people fighting for the right to shuffle through
my used newspapers for blankets,
heat made from old bank statements,
eating food that wasnt good enough the first time,
last night, when I threw it away after one bite.
People taking pride in their cardboard box,
and their grocery cart
cause its home, its where they hang their head
and what holds their heart.
And its theirs.
It may be just 4 paper walls and a roof to me,
but to those who live in it,love in it, sleep in it
its their sanctuary.
Their place to run,
from the sun,
from the rain,
from the world,
from the pain.
To the dark
to the dry,
to the known,
to the high.

This is what the world is coming to,
people undeserving getting the right to shuffle through,
wads of green bills and twelve credit cards,
running around screaming "the world is OURS"
buying BMW's and Bentleys, Dolce and Gabbana and REAL oakleys.
Not taking a pride in their 12 room mansions,
and million dollar pensions,
cause its all they've known, straight from the womb,
born into a money tomb.
and their heirs.
It may be just a dream and a fantasy to me,
but to those who live in it, love in it, sleep in it,
its their cemetery.
Their place to run,
from the sun,
from the rain,
from the world,
from the pain.
To the dark
to the dry,
to the known,
to the high.

We're Done

Verse 1
Every day that's passing by
makes me wanna fly so high
My neighbors laying low
talking only in yes and no
But the walls are closing in
Its dark and the light is so dim

I'm gonna make some noise
get up and raise my voice
Strum notes on my guitar
laugh at them, near or far
The world's my playground

I wrote this when my Grandfather passed in 12/04 after being in a coma for a week with cancer.

In tears we watched you sinking
We watched you fade away
You suffered so much in silence
You fought so hard to stay

God saw you getting tired
When a cure was not to be
He put His arms around you
And said "Come with Me"

So when we saw you sleeping
So peaceful and free of pain
We could not wish that you were back
Only to suffer through that again

I can't believe all the talent here. It just overwhelms me to read such heartfelt and at times, words of sorrow. Truly you all do have a way to reach out and touch a person's soul... you've touched mine.

I'd love to post some of my new stuff but I'm a little 'raw' yet, if that makes sense. But I hope to read more from you all.

THE WORLD

The world is trying to control me
acting like i'm nothing but a piece of property.
It is constantly hitting and bombarding me,
with messages that will only destroy me.

That is when I get up and say "NO WAY!"
I will not bow down and be controlled
I am not your servent you can't take hold
I have been set free, to bad for you
My individualitly, I will not give back to you

This is one fight you cannot win
Cause I am one girl who can defend,
her right to take a stand.
Your loosing power day by day and
there is nothing you can say
to make me change my mind

So, back of world and let me be
Cause one day they will see
The truth that I have found
then your world will be turned upside down!

I just lost my Uncle to Cancer 3 days ago so this poem applies again

Hey I write some poetry but its nothing much, here's one that I wrote about a year ago but made some news touches:

Escaping

From fairytales, to stories, and images too
Escaping from the world to our point of view
Away from the anger, sorrow, and frustration
To words and images from inspiration
Things that sweep the nation
An escape to our imagination
