new poem:
MY FRIEND NO MORE
I can hear the bells ringing like they used to fifteen years ago the grass was greener and it used to snow Time's been running and my time's run out again I've been yearning and searching in vain Did you hear that? the howling and the pain the loneliness swirling all around come sun come rain I'm swimming against the tide but i will not drown because it was today that i found out the cost of all my frowns did you miss me, how I longed to say to you but you had walked away, leaving me a deeper shade of blue the grass that is walked upon is forgotten in time will you forget me too, if I lose my rhyme but the question echoes against walls of stone there's no heart that beats in here the mist is dying right now and its becoming crystal clear shards of glass flying about when the glass falls down from your hand i will be deleted too i have come to understand but its a price I am willing to pay its much easier this side I've really had enough I'm not going for the ride so here's my poem of new beginnings for all the endings to end its funny how I still feel so good and how I tend to get all drunk and go round in circles and scream my lungs out and so without a doubt goodbye and I don't care, cos thats when my heart tore you're not who you used to be, my friend no more.

Here's another poem that I wrote:
I'm Falling
I'm falling Falling so fast I can't breath About to hit the beneath I slam to the ground but I do not die Feeling pain, but I do not cry Now floating, I feel like air In the middle of nowhere A mere thought is my existence Making no resistance Again about to repeat I'm falling This my beat My rhythm, the song I dance to Nver through I'm falling

ok im not good a poetry lol! but just for this thread i actually tried ! lol! The pain within me reaches out Heart ache beyond doubt My pain fills head to toe This I feel this I know
The words that you said Keep running through my head Like a never-ending tape That I can never escape
Searching for a reason which doesn’t exist Remembering the time when we first kissed It will never be the same This, you I blame
I have cried endlessly with out hope How am I going to cope? You were my life, my world, my everything Without you I’m just a lonely dot On this place, we call earth Until the day of my re-birth
its bad! but o well! practise is good! lol

Here's a really confusing poem. I wrote it about a year ago, I just felt like writing something. Here it is:
Waste Time and Do Something
Why waste time, because its something to do But why do something, because it wastes time with the day to get you through When I waste time, I'm doing something But when I'm doing something, it gives me a reason to waste time
Hope you like it!

this is one that my ex wrote to me back in theday Loving you is like loving the sun earth moon and stars Everything created, but nothing is as beautiful as the way you sparkle. If you were to break my heart it would shatter into thousands of pieces, so small you could fit them through the eye of a needle. Not much of a poem but its sweet.

here is mine I belong to the forgotten the ones who you will never see on your screen, the cold hungry and lost, you see only one or two a week but there are countless others who go unspoken for others who have been abused or watched as parents did drugs or left behind when their families parish in a fire. I belong to the forgotten in India and Africa the ones who where untouched by Alyssa Milano loving hand or Oprah’s generous heart I belong to the ones who still have to walk barefoot of streets filled with broken glass and disease who have to hear others tell there story while they are left in the dark I belong to the ones who die along in dark alleys while their brother has a crowd of mourners upon his grave, belong to the forgotten the ones who are never helped. I hope you like it.

i love the 1 by *violinist5-i'm falling* Thanks! Here's another one, buts its kinda long and I don't thinks its very good. Betrayel You came to me from heaven and delivered me from hell You picked me back up when I fell You were my friend, my mister Then you betrayed me and now you're just a blister That hole in my heart and soul You made that All this anger and frustration I just can't let go You're killing me I'm so off-key I just want to be free of you, be through You're like a disease, a sickness I just can't get rid of I thought you were supposed to be from above I guess not But I'm slowly sucking out the poison All I can say is amen When you betrayed me I died But now something's blooming deep inside All that anger and frustration in my soul I'm letting go I'm starting to be free of you, be through I'm killing you, your disease, your sickness See when you betrayed me I died But now I'm starting to feel alive

There's some awesome poems in here! Well done everyone. I haven't really written any poems since school but for another site I had to write a poem about my "favourite TV show" and even though I have loads of favourites, I picked " Charmed"! So, here it is (it's not perfect but never mind ): Charmed
Words were spoken in a shadowy light, Powers unlocked in the dead of the night, Three sisters were thrown into a dangerous world, From which the warlocks and demons were to be unfurled.
Prue was the eldest, brave and strong, Piper the middle child who knew right from wrong, Phoebe the baby with the gift of foresight, These sisters fought hard until Prue lost the fight.
Through the grief that was felt by the two left behind, A new sister was discovered and their powers entwined, Paige was a witch and a whitelighter too, A new form was bonded, a new legacy grew.
They fought fiends of all kinds on a daily basis, Married a Source and got turned into Isis, Altered the world on several occasions, Fought off many an unwelcome invasion.
When the ultimate battle came it took them by surprise, They never thought that it would be the two witches they called allies, In a battle to the death only Piper Halliwell survived, Back in time she went to have her two sisters revived.
She saw her parents hopelessly in love, Her Grams giving her something to think of, Her future self playing scrabble with Leo, having fun, Back in the present, the battle had finally been won.
Piper and Leo raised their two magical sons, Paige had married Henry, whose heart she had won, Phoebe married Coop, a gift from the Elders above, The Power of Three had each found their one true love.

^ Thankyou Andrew! I hope you do post your poem, I like seeing other people's work! The only other poem I can find that I wrote is here. I wrote it at school in 2004 for my English Literature class and without telling us, they published some of our poems on that website. I'll post it in this thread too (it's not that good, lol ): Falling
I walk up a spiral staircase, Walking at a snail's pace.
I arrive on top of a tall, soaring tower, As I get there I lose all my power.
As I walk towards the ledge, I slip and fall from the edge.
Falling, falling, Forever falling…
I hear someone's voice inside my head, Then suddenly find… I'm in my bed.

I use to write poems in Highschool. Here is the first poem ever written by me. It's not that great. It was written for my Highschool Sweetheart. Pain Since I've been with you I thought you and I would be together Always and forever, till death do us part But I got hurt by your lies All those promises you never kept I can't take it anymore I tried to show you how special you are And you went around and broke my heart I had this feeling this would happen, from the start But didn't know you would hurt me this way I know I could have missed the pain But I would have missed the chance To be loved by you.

I don't write poems, but this will always be my favorite:
I Started Early
I started early- took my dog- And visited the sea- The mermaids in the basement Came out to look at me-
And frigates- in the upper floor Extended hempen hands- Presuming me to be a mouse- Aground- upon the sands-
But no man moved me- till the tide Went past my simple shoe- And past my apron- and my belt And past my bodice- too-
And made as He would eat me up- As wholly as a dew Upon a dandelion's sleeve- And then- I started- too-
And He- He followed- close behind- I felt His silver heel Upon my ankle- then my shoes Would overflow with pearl-
Until we met the solid town- No one He seemed to know- And bowing- with a mighty look- At me- the sea withdrew.
Emily Dickinson

I wrote this one as a sophmore. The assignment was to write a poem based off of the style of A Noiseless Patient Spider by Walt Whitman. Not my best, but it was the first one I found as I was going through some of my old stuff... A Dry Rustling Tumbleweed A dry rustling tumbleweed, I watched the road where it lay stationary Outlined the empty and desolate surrounding It leaped forward tumbling, tumbling, tumbling onward Scraping, sleeplessly scraping. And you, mark my shadow where it stands Dark, lingering, looming in endless pavement, Seeking, reaching, stretching to find desired connections Until the intersections meet, until the stop signs bend Until the tumbleweed passes, O dry rustling tumbleweed.
