Moving On

How hard is it to love someone?
Is it easier to hate?
We fall is love so easily
And then our hearts we break
We rush into it so quickly
But when we pull back it’s too late
Then you have to take time to move on
Because love just wasn’t your fate

Moving On is so simple to say
But very hard to do
You wish that you could stop the pain
But really, what can you do?
You loved him so much, but he didn’t love you
So how do you truly move on?
Without knowing the truth

How long does it take to be a best friend?
Give me an exact length of time
How long have I felt this way for you?
How long have I wanted you to be mine?
When I looked into your eyes, it was like seeing the sun shine
But now it seems I have to let you go
And leave you behind

Soul-Searching

I have to take the time to soul-search
To figure out my worth
I have to be alone in this
To move forward in my rebirth
I am no longer harmed by your fire
Because no longer can I live by this desire

I have a long road ahead of me
As I walk down this path of life
Even though I can’t really see
I’m throwing down this knife
Blood has already been shed for my being
So now I take time to do some soul-searching

Unpacking all my past baggage
The ruthlessness and recklessness of a savage
I wanted to burn this so that it could be forgotten
But all it did was wreak more havoc
So to become a rock and not blow with the wind
I have to do some work deep within

I have a long road ahead of me
As I walk down this path of life
Even though I can’t really see
I’m throwing down this knife
Blood has already been shed for my being
So now I take time to do some soul-searching

Becoming now who I will be
Many revelations is what I see
Though the end result is shielded from my eyes
In extreme loneliness all I could do is cry
Though as my tears fall, the fertilize my growth
And aid me within this rebirth

Here's a quick one...

I'm sitting on my bed
With a towel over my head
Oh my head hurts
I hope it doesn't get worst

MY FRIEND

The shadows dwell on the edges of my soul
a constant reminder of what may come
if I stray too far toward the heart of darkness

The pain lingers at the cliff of my imagination
shattering notions of a world so terribly right
that disorder and fear no longer exist

The love ravages me at the core of my heart
overwhelming emotions seething like the angry waves
in a tumultuous sea

I lost my friend today
I don't know why
Was it because I was too blind to my own mistakes
or was it because I had loved too much

The sky is bleeding today
tears of betrayal, tears of anguish, tears of sorrow plummet to the ground
in unending streams

I am standing on the banks of a river
looking over to the otherside
It is true that the grass is greener there
or is what I see a misty image from the distant past?

I have burned my bridges and have nowhere to hide
the sorrow fills me to the brim
the despair that I could not talk to my friend one last time
that I could not say how much my friend meant to me

the hope sits alone on a faraway shore
gently nuzzled by the cold waves of the sadness i feel
the hope that someday my friend will come back to me
that someday I will feel the love again

I stare at the rising sun
and pretend not to feel the growing glare
if only for a moment
so that I may be washed clean of the pain

Empath... I've read all your poems, this one hit me the hardest. I can just sit and cry because your words are so brutally honest at times. But that's all right- for some reason, I can relate so much.

isienna... you put so much passion in your writing. Is it brutally sincere or just words that sound good when put together? I like to think that what you write is brutally honest and comes from your heart and soul.
