Going off of what you said, Granny Charmed, I felt that the lack of a nonmagical human perspective on the show is one of the things that, ironically, made it less magical to me. Charmed was so appealing to me in the first place because their magic was kept as this mysterious thing that they had to balance with the rest of their lives. When their lives became all about magic with no boundaries anywhere (the existence of whitelighters and elders and the amount of impact they had on the show primarily), the magic that was on the show seemed-- for lack of a better way of putting it-- less magical. For me, the best part of the show was watching the magic and nonmagic worlds collide and seeing how the sisters dealt with that. I liked Daryl's involvement with the sisters, but since Andy had a history with them, I prefer the time, if short, when he was there. I liked Leo as a character just fine, but he and others like him pulled the show very far one direction with no balancing force pulling it in the other. Then the next thing you know, we have magical creatures sitting at the bar in P3 in that one season 6 episode, and from that point on there was just no balance for me at all. I agree In Charmed I loved the magic more than anything, I'ld like better if the powers were put aside I was happy that Andy knew about magic, but even if I liked his character, there was a chance that the sisters becamea kind of Charlie Angels

I don't like this line I love Chris as the less powerful brother I don't love the superheroes at all, in fact I don't follow series as Supergirls et similia, for the same reason I'ld not follow a Next Generation serie about the powerful offspring of the Charmed Ones I loved in Chris Crossed and in the Charmed Sons dream, the idea of two brothers, the big brother very powerful and always - although not evil - at risk of losing his humanity because of too many powers and the other as a normal witch that precisely in his being normal can have the strength and the ability to hold his brother anchored in the human world David and Goliath but also the Dean and Sam Winchester of Supernatural first seasons
Furthermore: Chris comes back to save his brother, in the right time to become the sisters's Whitelighter, taking advantage of his knowledge of the past In Oh My Goddess he let everything happened as it happened, letting die Elders that he'ld save, just because he is afraid to change something Chris had been conceived when Leo was an Elder and this cannot change anything because the powers of the Elders are inheritable. their powers are passed down from one to another, as the Source's powers

I didn't jump on this thread as I felt I wasn't savvy enough to chat about the Phoenix and the mythology attached to it, but .... on the way to the candy store I was time warped back to the mid 60's. My oldest friend in the world since 1955 is a "Dark Shadows" freek. She loved the show, I thought it was interesting until I started a full time job. The afternoon soap started in 1966 and ran until 1971. Well I just finished the section with Laura Murdock Collins, a Phoenix that rises from the ashes every 100 years. For the most part she is not a wonderful person. Seems she generally comes back to claim her children and turn them into what she is. Gee, thanks mom. What caught my eye was the fact that she could cast spells. Now I hadn't viewed this in almost 50 years, so please forgive me if I sound confused. You wait, some day you will get there too. What I know about the Phoenix never had anything to do with witch craft that I could relate to. Then again, what do I know. Anyway, I had to wonder since I have been back at The Cafe, where the writers came up with a Phoenix Witch. Perhaps Bianca's inception haled from Laura Murdock Collins who was introduced to Dark Shadows sometime in 1966 or 67. She was a Phoenix that fit some of the myth, but a number of things did fit. Does the Phoenix have the ability to cast spells. If that is not part of it, than is Charmed taking a lesson from a TV show that has become a legend? Is this clever or just an accident? Wow, I was also one of those teenagers who would run home from school each day so I could watch another episode of "Dark Shadows" - the show that introduced me to the idea of ghosts and witches and vampires and werewolves and parallel timelines and traveling to the past and...yes, I'd totally forgotten..phoenixes! I'd totally forgotten about Laura. But now you do have me wondering whether Laura was the inspiration behind Bianca. The way Charmed borrowed from so many other sources, it wouldn't surprise me, although had they, I wonder if they would've made Bianca more like Laura - someone who comes back to claim her children through her painting as compared to an assassin witch. And since she was often called a Phoenix witch, yes, I do believe Bianca could've cast spells and make potions. Keeping in mind that unlike Charmed, Dark Shadows was pure soap opera (and a fun one at that, even at its scariest, especially because it was in black-and-white - unlike Charmed's Season One, it never gave me nightmares) for those who never watched this show, here's what Wikipedia says about Laura. But first, a quick intro to the characters mentioned here and who were introduced before this story arc - like most soap operas, keeping characters straight could get awful confusing - couldn't tell a player without a scorecard!): Elizabeth Collins Stoddard - mistress of Collinwood Roger Collins - Elzabeth's younger brother David Collins - Roger's young son. Victoria Winters - David's governess Maggie Evans - waitress at the Blue Whale, a bar in the nearby town of Collinsport, and friend of Victoria's. Sam Evans - Maggie's father who paints portraits Josette Collins - a ghost from the 1700s who died by jumping off the cliffs near Collinwood, scared by something, and who befriends David and Victoria The rest of the characters were introduced during this story arc. Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Shadows_(televised_storylines)Like I said, quite a bit different than Charmed's version of a phoenix, but could've been a lot of fun. I don't know the show but it must have been interesting I have always thought that the speech of the birth from the ashes was only symbolic, the Phoenix are witches who have taken a firm stand, but always witches, able to pronounce spells, in fact Bianca tossed a powerful spell on the sisters

I agree, I believe they had their own agenda, maybe they represented a third pole of power, like the Avatars, the Charmed universe was very multifaceted and very populated Surely, they didn't like the sisters and their bloodline

Thank you Melinda! I visited Acapulco qith my parents 16 years ago! A very nice place, I remeber the beach where I ate for the first time mango with paprika! Oh wow! isn't the world a tiny little place? It never crossed my mind that someone from this forum would actually know about my hometown, let alone visit it. I'm glad you enjoyed Acapulco and if u wanna come back someday, you can count on a local charmed fan to show you the bay area. (click to see a larger version) My nan was an Elvis Presley huge fa, she watched all his films, and having two small kids and no help, she went to the movies carrying my mom and my uncle who played quiet in the space in front of the first row My mom grew up with confused memories of Hawaii and Mexico,of the divers who broke out from a high cliff - Fun in Acapulco -of the strong colors of Las Vegas When years ago my parents decided a long travel around Mexico - from Mexican California to Yucatan in 4 weeks -, my mom added Acapulco in the path, she wanted to see the Quebrada and the small chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe, a very beautiful and thrilling place

I'ld like better a mysterious Source, hidden to our eye I believe that Source of All Evil was a only title, as king or president, only more evocative Title won from the next to last Source with a big battle and the stakes was acquiring particular and strong powers Also the Elders, at the time of promotion, acquire special powers that are handed down from Elder to Elder - not inheritable, so I guess that "Source" meant the strongest powers of evil, not the person who originates them That person'ld be very strong but not so smart

The Cleaners are neutral, they act to conceal the magical world, that doesn't mean they can't have some power connection with some Elders or Upper Level Demon The speed record with which they step against Wyatt and not against Shax it's suspect They'ld be neutral but they surely have likes and dislikes, and maybe an own agenda

They'ld have changed many things because Prue personality is dominant, suspicious, combative
COLE:Prue never trusted him and, unlike Piper, not even feel sympathy for him, with good reason, given the terrible suffering Cole brought about her with his trick of the empathy I also think she'ld be able to convince Phoebe to not marry Cole: when the love of your life ask you to marry, usually you don't ask your sister or magic an help to choose. Phoebe was searching for strong reasons to say no Piper wasn't able to get it, she was too romantic and still the sister who pampers and take cares, instead Prue'ld clearly understand Phoebe's fears and uncertainties
CHRIS: it'ld be funny to see those two! Suspicious, inquisitive, demon hunters, they'ld argue about everything, too similar to stand each other Prue'ld turn upside down Underworld to protect her baby nephew
ZANKOU: It'ld not have changed so much, Zankou remains one of the most formidable enemy of the Charmed Ones
AVATARS: Prue didn't trust easily, but Phoebe's vision was the most powerful weapon of Avatars and Prue trusted her baby sister visions Maybe we'ld talk of that vision in a new thread: it was true or was a fake?
BILLIE: Billie's overly enthusiastic personality wasn't fit for a real friendship between her and Prue and I think Prue'ld not so confidently left free access to the Book of Shadows
CHRISTY: I like a lot Christy's character, a powerful and true warlock, able to try to dominate even with the Triad I don't think Prue'ld have trusted her even momentarily Discovering in time Christy's real schedue could have allowed the sisters to avoid being banished from the Manor and the Book Prue's presence might have prevented the Angel of Destiny's action against Leo, maybe
FINAL: I agree with the members wishing for Prue a life finally free of duties about her sisters Prue of Morality Bites was too much a go-getter but Prue is in any case an ambitious person, who loves to succeed in her work I am not able to imagine her as a mom, only as a cool, very cool aunt

I am quite convinced that when the Winchester brothers will retire, the Halliwell brothers'll be taken into account in order to confort the fans of Supernatural Years ago I read that there were 7 different proposals for CS spin off, almost all proposed by Charmed writers, even by Holly Comb The actors'll not be the same, but do not worry, firenana, the world is bulging with hot guys

I did It is true that she was helped by luck, but Phoebe, with her passion and her empathy, was perfect for this kind of work
I also think that Phoebe was better suited for a job as a social worker than Paige, I always thought that Paige was too restless, always looking for something different to be a good social worker However I cannot imagine Phoebe as a detective
I would understand from which episodes it'ld be possible to deduce that Phoebe has become a celebrity, certainly not by a common advertising of her column, I hope Where and when can I see Phoebe taking part in a galà,or some media events, acclaimed as a star on the red carpet? Where are the fans asking autographs?
I saw only the advertising, in the same style of the restaurant just opened in the square where I live: a large photo of the chef
In Jason's wish, Phoebe was a popular and famous woman,Jason wished she'ld become a journalist, a TV celebrity, sure enough he was not the man fit for her, he was not even able to understand her

The Source and the other demons were afraid of him, certainly Zankou had greater capacity than Shax Especially Zankou, like Cole, understands and knows humans, I felt he was taken with humans, above all the sisters Only Zankou or Christy may have killed the Charmed Ones in Chris's reality

Since the second half of season 7 for the first time Phoebe seemed to have learned to couple the various garments, I remember a very elegant jacket flowered, the only garment seen in Charmed that I'ld have gladly worn, together with Paige's wedding dress In season 8 Phoebe was simple and elegant even with a red tracksuit and her long hair tied back with a pencil

Actually the show proposed by Burge was about three friends,it was Vincent who rejected the idea and proposed three sisters Three friends'ld have been easier to handle, just think of Charlie's Angels
I like bettere the original idea of the Power of Three as something unique and the observance of prophecy about three sisters who were the culmination of the powers of Warren descendants This'ld prove that the power of the three sisters together is greater than Wyatt's
As Es, I'ld have preferred a season or at least ten episodes without the Power of Three but with Piper, Phoebe, Leo and Cole that are able to eliminate - quietly, cunningly -the Source to avenge Prue and save Cole At that time they'ld introduce Paige, witch not prophesied but able to join the Power of Three

I think the same thing: Season 4 was designed with a very strong role for Prue It would be difficult to introduce Phoebe's turning into the Queen of Evil but it would have an intense dramatic impact Leo and Cole were a fascinating couple: the good man who became an angel and the pitiless demon who wants, and fails, to become a good man I disagree, Wyatt remained in the shadows like any child, but the theme of the future of magic was almost a duty Season 5 and season 6 were filmed after 9/01/2001, my father told me that it was asked the writers of whichever show to lighten themes and episodes, the insertion of an enchanted world of childhood was considered a way to entertain and relax Wyatt 's birth was thought, in addition to the seed for a possible spin-off, as token of a future of peace, hope, thanks to the charm of the good magic symbolized by the unicorn I prefer having eight seasons, despite the defects The Charmed Ones deserved more time, and in five years they have introduced very important issues, which have also inspired other tv show: -the concept that love, even the great love as Romeo and Juliet, can be destructive -the uncertainty of the future of the family, anguish of every parent , personified by sons as Wyatt and Chris, that could be a source of good and are a source of confusion, in the present and in the future -the effort to understand what is right and what is wrong for the human world, see Avatars 's storyline A storyline too rushed, but original and actual, given that we are living in a world where millions of people believe in a world without free will -the betrayal of those who you believe friends, one of the most painful betrayals I would prefer eight season with the original Charmed Ones, Paige is nice, but not in synergy with a trio of sisters Would Piper be able to step out of Prue's shadow, in this case? I think yes: Phoebe turning would have sparked mixed reactions among the two sisters, rebelling against Prue's hardness, Piper would find the strength to become a woman less doubtful and insecure I agree and I think that according to the original intention, the strong division between the sisters would have allowed Piper to step out of Prue's sway and become more independent

At the very least, they needed to explore the Phoenix. Maybe learned more after CC and tried to keep an eye out on Bianca. Come on, Piper. Your future son is engaged to this woman, who is helping your other son take over. KEEP AN EYE OUT! Hello! After the emotions brought on Chris Crossed I hoped that the next episode would give room for investigations into the Phoenix Witches Although Piper didn't suspect that Chris was her son, a little curiosity about it would be normal I think season six is underratedd: it is a moment of calm in the sisters's lives, the great enemies have been defeated, the innocent are safe, few bad things happen, it'ld be a time of peace and serenity for them, if the fear of the future wasn0t so worrisome
